@doubletrouble467 Yes. We sat through the show and the whole time we were wondering if it was him. After the show, I introduced myself and sure enough it was Bob. He was very gracious and kind. He still tours a little, mainly in California, and he performs small concerts at his home. Always will be a fan. Go Bob!!!
This is great, though I must confess, when I read "Family Affair', I was thinking of the Sly & Family Stone soul/r&b song of the same name, and was wondering how in hell Welk and his Orchestra was going to pull that off! LOL
I always thought that was a harmonica they used (which was a big shock, as I've never known a harmonica to be part of the Welk Orchestra). Thank you for posting this.
Go Bob Go!! I met him last Christmas at the Welk Theater in Escondido. It was the thrill of a lifetime.

It's a Vox Electric Harpsichord, which was popular back in the day. And gotta love Buddy Merrill and Neil Lavang, the baddest guitar duo on TV!
