as both a fan and a pro tekken/SSF IV player i can say that i find it insulting that someone even thinks to compare this game with such 2 great incredibly deep and complicated games like SSF and tekken...and if some1 wanna know even though SSF IV is 2D its harder to master then tekken....and btw king of fighters 94 kick's ass ;)

@therookieomega well i never played much tekken so i'll just say from what i've seen its a solid fighter. seriously though ppl should give vf5 a try. There isn't much story ( there is back stroies to characters), but the fighting system is solid, and when you master or get good at it you can really appreciate the depth of the game.

Also, as you can clearly see, Jeffry has to follow up on his high power moves with some throws to really deal any damage. Here he is mostly using powerful throws and light punches. He struggles and really needs lots of patience to use. The real advantage he has over the majority of chars VF5 is his air throws. Which can be done no matter how the opponent is falling. This is something I would want for King. But with Kings superior Striking moves along with his chain grabs, he will always beat him

Plus, King is 6'7" tall and a mad pro wrestler compared to Jeffrey whos only 6'0 and a pile of hot air.......King would own him anytime of his life. Marduk even with Low skills is 7'0 which is a whole foot above this guy. They are pretty much the same skill so Marduk would beat Jeffery despite the fact that you mentioned.
@MisterWhat Yes, Jeffry is exactly 6'0 feet tall. And yes I know, he won the third or second tournament. Quite honestly size only matters to some extent. Since Marduk IS bigger and taller than King but he still lost badly, TWICE. But in these cases, not only does King have the size advantage on both these guys, but his strike moves are a ton better as well. His grapples look epic, have you seen the Muscle Buster? King doesn't fight for glory but to raise money for his orphanage. Can't beat that!

About Jeffry's Takedowns, I will believe it when I see it. Kings grapples can be varied and you can change the course of the moves you wanna take. He's unpredictable. If your fast your gonna get a hit and if your slow, you won't. Thats is made even more important in VF where you can sway and move around alot and evade most of your Ops attacks. Jeffry and Wolf have slow hard hitting strike moves, its really obvious. Compare them to Lion's or Akira's or anyone else.
What about it? Framewise they aren`t really that slower, they are just supposed to have more weight. Won`t really matter in a competitive tourney if you happen to be good.

Also, even though wrestling is fake, King's style is NOT Kayfabe (check it up if you don't know what it means, though I doubt you don't). That makes King one of the most dangerous chars in the whole of Tekken.

I bought it last week and i got bored after 10 mins of gameplaying. I thing i'm just a casual gamer. It has no blood, no trophies, no superpowers, no great combos, no multiplayer, no editor, no cool stages, NOTHING! Just buy street fighter 4.
Please, if you're into fighting games with blood and magic, play Mortal Kombat. Anyways, this is game is only for hardcore gamers, who would rather take his or her time mastering it.

I think you know nothing about Tekken, in my modest opinion. Too bad there is no online-play. Anyway I play VF5 now with Jacky (easy to handle for beginners and fast translating)
Btw. if you want to raise him high in the quest mode to get some clothes, just simply repeat the combo (RT, kick) and you can defeat even the hardest A.I. easily.
You havent got to the hardest A.I if you can do that, sorry to say.
This series is simply designed to be more daunting to play and always has been. There is not to say either series dont have characters more friend play and otherwise, but from what i can tell, Tekken got more characters of those.
Not to mention, this is way more grounded in real like MA, wich will always get the extra nod to me.
Ignorant to think that in such complex game it has hardly flaws. Proove it yourself, take Jacky, repeat Rb kick(corrected) and you will beat the A.I. even every A.I. on the arcade mode. Sometimes a little sequence breaking or blocking is required but overall it is easy to win that way. It often has problems with fast distance-changing issues. Jacky is a fast character who keeps distance after the attack.
WWe, i never said it had no flaws, i compared it to Tekken which is usually not as hard to play, or better yet the gameplay isent as deep for vets.
Ive seen plenty of play to play first hand to know form my opinion, the AI gets difficult from a certain level. Its certainly alot easier than Evo was at begginer levels, but from 200 wins and up, its a challenge, like usual.

A game shall be played human vs human to reveal its true potential. A.I. means nothing for a combat-game. I would like to known why you think Tekken is not so deep. THAT was my original point. Not so much about recorded A.I but the raw gameplay of the game. Tekken is just easier to pick up than Virtua. Its the game mechanics. I found from my own gaming experience and conversations with other players, that usually (key word here) Tekken is just more beginners friendly. When you did mentioned the recorded A.I, wich in 5 is dubbed as "easy" i merely pointed out how its only easy if you dont play the whole thing.
I think you are just a casual player without knowing the real math of depth. A combat-game being user friendly is just great, if possible, the depth does not have to come from additional stick-handling-skills(one wayto cool down strong moves) but from TIMING, REACTING and MINDGAMES. In Tekken you can directly concentrate on these interesting things without so much taking into account to have individally the best input-device.
Probably you donteven know the concept behind the throws in Tekken4.

Jeffry is not slow, sir. Virtua Fighter just got a more complex game play mechanism, just like Tekken used to have until the 5th game. You can`t just mash it. Once you learn the mechanism, though, it plays as fast as you make it. Same with Wolf.
King would be sandwitched, in the bad way. By Jove he would need the help or Marduk.

@MisterWhat Of course I know you can't just mash buttons.....this is not Street Fighter >_> I know the mechanism but from all that I know and have seen, speed of the moves DOES matter. If your fast your gonna get a hit and if your slow, you won't. Thats is made even more important in VF where you can sway and move around alot and evade most of your Ops attacks. Jeffry and Wolf have slow hard hitting strike moves, its really obvious. Compare them to Lion's or Akira's or anyone else.

@MisterWhat Alright I agree about the tourney part, but in a fight between King and Jeffry, King is the faster one. That and since he is already stronger and bigger, he will pwn Jeffry. Also, even though wrestling is fake, King's style is NOT Kayfabe (check it up if you don't know what it means, though I doubt you don't). That makes King one of the most dangerous chars in the whole of Tekken.

I think you know nothing about Tekken, in my modest opinion. Too bad there is no online-play. Anyway I play VF5 now with Jacky (easy to handle for beginners and fast translating)
Btw. if you want to raise him high in the quest mode to get some clothes, just simply repeat the combo (RT, kick) and you can defeat even the hardest A.I. easily.

This series is simply designed to be more daunting to play and always has been. There is not to say either series dont have characters more friend play and otherwise, but from what i can tell, Tekken got more characters of those.
Not to mention, this is way more grounded in real like MA, wich will always get the extra nod to me.

I think you dont know much about VF5 A.I.
Ignorant to think that in such complex game it has hardly flaws. Proove it yourself, take Jacky, repeat Rb kick(corrected) and you will beat the A.I. even every A.I. on the arcade mode. Sometimes a little sequence breaking or blocking is required but overall it is easy to win that way. It often has problems with fast distance-changing issues. Jacky is a fast character who keeps distance after the attack.

Ive seen plenty of play to play first hand to know form my opinion, the AI gets difficult from a certain level. Its certainly alot easier than Evo was at begginer levels, but from 200 wins and up, its a challenge, like usual.

A game shall be played human vs human to reveal its true potential. A.I. means nothing for a combat-game. I would like to known why you think Tekken is not so deep. It requires a lot of time and understanding to judge a combat game, a review means nothing.

THAT was my original point. Not so much about recorded A.I but the raw gameplay of the game. Tekken is just easier to pick up than Virtua. Its the game mechanics. I found from my own gaming experience and conversations with other players, that usually (key word here) Tekken is just more beginners friendly. When you did mentioned the recorded A.I, wich in 5 is dubbed as "easy" i merely pointed out how its only easy if you dont play the whole thing.

I think you are just a casual player without knowing the real math of depth. A combat-game being user friendly is just great, if possible, the depth does not have to come from additional stick-handling-skills(one wayto cool down strong moves) but from TIMING, REACTING and MINDGAMES. In Tekken you can directly concentrate on these interesting things without so much taking into account to have individally the best input-device.
Probably you donteven know the concept behind the throws in Tekken4.

Ah, but in order to master those characters, you have to take their lack of speed into account. Jeffry is my character, and he's tough to master but oh so rewarding! I'm personally annoyed by characters like Jacky or Pai who take you down like that before you can throw them.
