I live in Australia. Currently, I spend $360 each fortnight on cannabis. All proceeds go to Biker gangs who spend it on weapons and killing people. That isn't my problem, and I do not intend to stop. Decriminalize it and the gangs will have no employment, and I could spend some money in the real economy.
Was not legalized. Was decriminalized. Portugal abolished all criminal penalties for "personal possession" of drugs, including marijuana, cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine. It is still a crime to produce and sell for profit. Caught having over a specified amount get you for trafficking. I am for decriminalizing.
@amy2x I would rather the transactions behind drug trade be enforced by the rule of law rather than the black market law of the jungle. However, I do see how maybe some counties would prefer to stay clear of open sale similar to dry counties. But closed sale or posession criminalization becomes a gang scenario the instant criminality is introduced into the equation.
@SophiaMercy Exactly, always thought I'd be for legalising drugs as a casual user but if it was legal, doing things like mdma would seem weird and desperate in some sort of way.
You wanna gamble all your money away in a casino, you're a free being, that's your choice.
You wanna eat 10 cheeseburgers a day and be 500lbs, you're a free being, that's your choice.
You wanna drink 3 bottles of Vodka everyday, you're a free being, that's your choice.
You wanna smoke cigarettes and get lung cancer, you're a free being, that's your choice.
And you wanna smoke heroin everyday and be an addict, you're a free being, that's your choice.

Retards running governments are all scared shitless that they'll all start shooting H into their blood veins with dull, dirty used syringes.

Makes sense. What is more boring than a substance that is legal, regulated, and taxed.
