  • Yeah, never got the grunge thing...to me it just meant the end of stunning, epic, superlative, shredding guitar solos...and Winger iced the cake with Reb Beach solos....so F##k me if I never fell in love with eddie vedder bellowing like a tased water buffalo..Overnight the fun metal shows became emo/smack drool " yawn-fests"

  • For a minute I thought this was a Slayer video (it reminded me of Dead Skin Mask)

  • Great song!

  • Will Winger ever tour again?

  • @kingsnake23 they have been touring and putting out new cds

  • Damn Good Song!

  • An HD version please.

  • WINGER IDOLS !!!

  • song has to grow on you to like it.

  • It's a shame that grunge killed these bands! And even though some of the music is ok now days it's the 80's music that still lives on and it would be nice if it were to make a comeback! But all these guys are alot older now and don't look the same but are still trying to make a living at it and there is no market for it anymore! It's sad really!

  • some of the best music of the decade

  • winger is great and this song has that beat hey what can i say :)

  • Reb Beach, Winger's long-time guitar player, is now with Whitesnake...go figure.

  • @superhornet69 Just for now when Kip gets time he rallys the troops and if they can get it done they make the rounds

  • @TheZimzamzom WHAT? Def Leppard, ACDC, Metallica & Motley Crue are awesome. Whitesnake suck!

  • I still have not gotten over what happen with grunge and alternative music completely changing the musical landscape for the worst. Hip hop really hurt rock music a great deal in the 90's. Once Mc Hammer exploded onto the scene; Rock music was no longer the dominated music of choice for young people. Even though this music has not been popular for 20 years, i will always be a fan of the 1980's and early 90's golden age of hard rock and heavy metal!

  • Fuck grunge...early 90's, rocks golden age

  • and I wish you well........................

  • Brilliant

  • best ever:)

  • 1992 was the last good year for great rock bands!

  • @koryclarke1991 I thought that until I met Alter Bridge

  • I have to agree about the timing having an effect on the success of 'Pull'. When this came out, I was...stunned by the intensity of songs like 'Down Incognito' and 'Junkyard Dog'. But not a lot of people 'got it'. What is funny, now some 17 or so years later, I can break this song out while on the boat and people just FLOCK to it, asking questions like, "Who IS that? That ROCKS!"

  • Kip Winger has way more talent than Britney Spears. Period.

  • the 80's metal bands are the best........

  • I wish we could get an upgrade to this video. Quality is bad.

  • great song like the vocals

  • what's the general consensus on the best overall Winger studio release?

  • @DukeofColumbia Pull. Hands down. They are all good, but Pull seams the most raw.

  • @dedblow thanks . . . I've listened to some of the stuff from 'Pull' and it does sound for heavy than the stuff from 'Winger' & 'In the Heart of the Young'. IMO, 'Pull' deserved to sell better . . . just bad timing for when it was released (at the height of the grunge revolution)

  • one of best songs of hardrock!!!

  • This has been my favourite song since its release, way back when I dressed like the chick in the clip and had a red spiral perm....

  • @knobrock . Wow. You did like this song. lol. Great song.

  • Maybe my favorite Winger tune.

Good album altogether as well. If they had released it in the late 80's it would have been a big hit.

I agree with the poster that states that many lite metal bands of the 80s released their best albums in the 90s after no one was listening anymore.

  • Groovy music. Dig it.

  • @wolfenburger where have you been living?

  • @humpingpandas3427 On planet earth ;) Oslo Norway.

  • Funny to hear what the 80's represented called "Glam". To me glam was the Bowie\Roxy Music\bryan Ferry\Raw Power era Stooges of the 1970s. But hey, call it what you want to. I was tired of seeing Poison and Bang Tango everywhere I looked. It was marketing, much like what they did to "Southern Rock". I liked Winger, and Cinderella, a couple of others. Truth to tell, Grundge only superceded the Hair Metal stuff, NOTHING could replace it...There are as many Grundge posers as there were in Metal...

  • Nirvana ruined rock music, after that mid-tone low voice with one chord guitar music with no guitar solo and on top of that uncombed hair, dirty shirt and walmart jeans music changed forever, high school kids thought this was real music, rock music still did not recover after that shit

  • TV GAZETA LIVE winger Acustic!

  • kick ass song /miss these guys a lot.

  • A lot of interesting opinions on this thread.

All I can say in regards to this song is that I enjoy it and that's more than enough. I don't care how it compares to other stuff.

  • Took all the pennies I had, threw them in the wishing well and I wish you well <3 omg

  • This is one HOT MAN!!!

  • Ahh, Kip. Even when your song mostly sucks, your harmonious hooks STILL grab me.

  • What can I say, it was a different time. In the 80's and the 90's, you had to be an artist. You had to have the ability to write your own songs. Now, anything goes and if you are lucky, you sing a song , that was written from some one else and it makes it to VHI or MTV. The days of the musical poet are long dead. Simply put, Kip Winger had something to say and nobody was listening.

  • I seem to recall reading that Kip named the album "Pull" as a joke because he thought critics would easily dismiss it (i.e. use it for target practice skeet shooting style, hence pull).

  • Love this!

  • Ed wanted me to watch this video. Not sure why yet.

  • The only thing worths in american culture is the music. They are the best.

  • yes!!! It's finally time the talent is seen and given respect to KIP.......and he stll looks great after all the years!!!!

  • pull is kickass cd

  • Great song off the album PULL. they can still Rock

  • @raypowersmusic I totally agree....

  • Winger got a bad rap for sure! All the musicians were top notch all the time in this band! I dunno if they just didnt fire up the ol PR machine enuff but this was definitely their best album by far! Thank goodness for youtube where I can hear this great stuff whenever the mood strikes!!!

  • @AZRacer2000 I don't think Atlantic promoted this album much at all. With the advent of grunge and the influence of stupid cartoons and a certain pathetic, pint sized drummer, they had pretty much written Winger off. I didn't even know Pull existed til a few years ago. Ironically, it's probably listened to and appreciated a lot more now than it was when it came out.

  • Love this makes me feel better makes me feel good !!YES:D:D:D

  • WInger is a fantastic live band! definitely the most under-appreciated glam band...

  • This is a band of muscians plane and simple who can do more then hold their own against any one.I challenge any one to find a weakness. They are strong in every catagory. You want to hear great MUSIC?put on a good pair of head phones listein to what you been missing, and notice I said music, not rock, not glam, not metal, just plane great music!!!

  • the verse is the best part of the song chorus is too upbeat. i thought when the verse came in in i thought the chorus would kick ass

  • why do they get shoved in with the bad glam bands like poison and whitelion these guys are obviously good musicians and can hold there own against any of the greats

  • What does M.O. Mean??? Kip winger---"Rock stardom and all that stuff like that was never like my main M.O., my main M.O. is musical growth, and if I become a rock star in the process, great!"

  • "M.O. " comes from the Latin Modus Operandi, or "Mode of Operation", so when something is your M.O., it insinuates a pattern of repeated behavior, like how one works, or a preference strongly expressed, etc. What he means here is slightly off-base but still easy to understand, that his life's underlying pursuit was his understanding of music and composition, and it wasn't his prime directive to be a rockstar or be popular at the cost or detriment of his art. I think he lives it.

  • my monkey's m.o. !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • M.O. is modes operendi esotericeric93...it's a tell tell sign of a criminals choice of how he commits his crime

  • winger, motley crue, europe, warrant, firehouse, poison, def leppard, extreme. fucking happy days.

  • what are they talking about when they say monkeys MO ? I assume M.O. doesnt mean Medical Officer

  • And I wish you well

  • "This conversation seems like a dream" that's the album where I discovered him, and even if Winger the band sounded extremely good , I still prefer his solo works .. great song you posted anyway ( I have this album too , hehe )

  • These guys don't deserve all the shit they get. They're some of the best musicians out there and they just get stereotyped.

  • winger is the best rock band ever created

  • i'm not afraid to say i like winger!! they rock!!

  • This is, to me, some of their best work. They got a bum rap but I don't care they still rock, even today. GO WINGER!!!

  • If you haven't seen Winger in concert, it's time. They are amazing.

  • Absolutely fan-friggin'-tastically awesome.

  • 'Embedding disabled by request'.... shit! :/

  • not mentioning also that his music is much more technical but also very comercial!!!

  • I love this song, one of the greats..... During the summer.....

  • this song is awesome

  • Great song ! It was the first single from "PULL" WINGER´s third studio album, RELEASED IN 1993.

  • What a great song. How in the world can you put these guys down.

  • Winger...where is Purple Haze ?

  • I hope it does 01po01po because it's over due....

  • This kind of music is makeing a comeback. The kids today are tired of the poor me life sucks image the bands today are puttin out. They want the 80' hairbands, feel good about life rock n roll music. Life is good, Should be glad to be alive people!!!!!!

  • Remind me again why this album got such a luke-warm reception? it rocks so hard!

  • Timing. That's the long and short of it.

I'd argue to say that Winger, Slaughter, Warrant, Firehouse and Trixter all put out their finest material in their 1992-93 releases - dropping the glitz and adding a heavier edge.

Unfortunately, by mid-1992, if you had a singer who had a range above a low baritone growl, washed his hair, wore anything but a greasy service station shirt or pretended to be happy to be alive - you were ignored.

Shame, but that was the industry.

  • Could not have said it better!! Music just got depressing and the good times were over. Were there some bands that were ok out of the "Seattle scene"?...sure, but overall you needed to be suicidal and a heroin addict to get really into it.

Far as I'm concerned, rock n roll produced it's best from the 60s through to about 1992.

At least there's still many of these bands that tour.

Scorpions have announced their final cd release and tour though...guess after 40 yrs they are tired.

  • The quality of music died after 1993.

  • @raypowersmusic trixter sucked ass... Extreme was the real talented band at the time.

  • @raypowersmusic Yea, totally agree....there were some great bands coming out that would have had a great run...WILD SIDE is one of the casualties of that era of music coming to an end......I think people a tired of that poor me bull Sh**. And want this kind of feel good music. Life is good, Celebrate it. Love it. It is good to be ALIVE !!!!!!!

Thats what the 70' & 80's were all about. (( Having Fun & feeling good about life!!))

  • @raypowersmusic yeah and by then the industry only gave a fuck about CRAP music instead of great music like this..unfortunately.

  • @raypowersmusic A-FUCKIN-MEN! Some of the best "hair metal" CDs were released in the grunge era.

    Winger - Pull

Def Leppard - Retroactive and Slang

    Warrant - Ultraphobic

    Slaughter - Fear No Evil

    Danger Danger - Dawn

    Firehouse - 3

Timing is the key! For example, had Def Leppard released Retroactive instead of Adrenalize in 1992, it would have been HUGE. If Pull came out instead of "In the Heart of the Young," that CD would have sold like crazy.

  • @raypowersmusic Um we'll seeing as layne staley, Jerry Cantrell, Chris cornell and Eddy vedder(to name a few) can probably all hit higher notes and have voices that sound different from each other (aka Kip winger sounds exactly liek the dude from warrant) your fucking wrong. But nice job summing up Kurt Cobain if thats what you were aiming at, but yea grunge was probably the last best era of music and to ignore that is blasphamy to rock.

  • @raypowersmusic I gotta disagree. The glitz gave the music alot of the magic. It, unfortuanetly, became overdone eventually since everyone was looking to hop onboard the Glam train. Agree with everything else though.

  • @raypowersmusic God, what a GREAT FUCKING COMMENT!!!! You are SPOT-ON regarding your thoughts. Thank GOD that Metal is back now in the 2000s, i.e. That Metal Show and all of the shows on TV regarding the 80s!!!

  • @raypowersmusic Exactly! Amen! Once they got rid of what the labels wanted, they all wrote some amazing music. Ironic that when the best music from that era was written, people were ignoring it. Winger had Pull. Warrant - Ultraphobic. Slaughter - Fear No Evil. Def Leppard - Retroactive. The list goes on and on. It is still the same today with Winger's Karma CD.

  • @raypowersmusic your forgetting another good band - Jackyl lol

  • @raypowersmusic

I agree with your comment but you left out the part where if you had a band that acutally could play instruments you were also ignored. Maybe someday we will get back to mullets, woman with big hair, bands that looked like they were trying to appear as women...but actually liked women, bands with great guitarists, and songs that are about just drugs, sex and alcohol and/or the pursuit of one or all three, and t-top cars will be back.

  • @heathen72715 That's an excellent point. God forbid you had a guitar solo comprised of more than three caustic notes. Double-kick drums were passe. A snare drum simply had to sound like an empty paint can (release the actual snare and this is done). It's like anything that was a 180 degree turn from high production and quality was cool. I had no problem with grunge bands existing (though not my thing), but to make that the only thing was unnecessary.

  • @heathen72715 We should just start doing it. Growing our hair, buying 80s looking guitars, cars, promoting good music, telling everyone to join us... I do that all the time :D

  • @heathen72715 Hey those bands are still out there. It's just that Radio Stations and JokeTV have their heads up their asses. In their minds that was 80's stuff. There are plenty of hair/glam bands out there today. I'd like some fresh blood, I love the classic bands from the 80's but some are starting to show their age. Bands like Airbourne, Pistol Dawn, Dirty Penny, Charlemagne, and Dr. Grind come to mind, They have that 80's sound.

  • @raypowersmusic super observation and the absolute truth bro

  • @raypowersmusic That was Simon Cowell

  • yer it is a shame that kip was made fun of for being just a pretty boy, especially under all that talent that the band in general had and still have, its great that hes getting recogition now and i hope he goes a couple more albums with winger

  • Arizona... ?

  • Winger still one of my favorites bands. don't give a F what anyone thinks..i don't go out and get tatted.. don't follow the crowd ..never have ..never will..you can take the today's "music"?,rap and hip hop 'noise', and put it where the sun don''t shine.

  • Def Lep,etc... might be more successful commercially, but Winger's getting the last laugh these days. Karma is being very well received - much better than anything these other bands have done recently. Plus, Kip is finally gaining recognition for the talent that he is w/ his solo and classical stuff. Kudos to him not only for his talent, but his tenacity in never losing faith in himself and his music and continuing to create regardless of what anyone says. It's certainly paying off now.

  • @KEYNUTT couldnt agree more. I remeber def leppard claiming they were never sells outs and stuff. Pretty obvious they care more about the dosh then creating the music they love. and slaggin nazareth saying they are old fashioned and out of date. thats pretty hypocritical of them. Love the leppard but they need to quickly take their head out their ass and get a grip of reality. they need to respect their fans and stop trying to access the teenybopper market with their atempt at mainstrem pish

  • @KEYNUTT Yeah, but Def Lep just did a MONSTER sized tour & are still pulling BIG crowds as well as people killing to work with them. I LOVE Winger, but that's the truth.

I wish they were bigger than they are. I hate that Beavis & Bitthead pretty much sent them to the chopping block

  • @KEYNUTT Don't you think that metal and classical mix well I sure do both forms of music really push the dynamics and instrumentaly their only limited by the imagination of the writers. All other forms of music use instrumental fills for the lyrics and are dependant on a catchy hooks for the sucsses of the song.

  • i used to dig this track

    i still dig that Ibanez

    lucky Earl?

    hahagagamamadadatataa

  • they did get the short end with the Beavis and Butthead thing. Really talented in so many ways. I mean, Kip writes things like Ghosts... can compose his ass off...and got labeled as just the pretty boy front man. Sad.

  • Took all the pennies I had, threw em in the wishing well, and I wish you well. Classic.

  • Does anybody else wish they didn't put the harmonica? That would been a good place for another guitar solo. I kind of got use to it though.

  • I think Tiger Woods better be hanging down in cognito.

  • In My mind, they are Bigger than Def Leppard. Pull is the perfect album.

  • mmm I don't know if that is accurate, but I agree they were a great band...this is one of my favorite songs

  • I agree :)

  • PULL would have sold 6 to 8 million if grunge and Beavis and Butthead didn't kick in. Winger would be as big as Def Leppard.

  • lol, me and my amigos down in cognito

  • I've always liked this song & can't understand why it's no longer played on rock radio. It's a classic that rocks!!! TG4 Dee Snider's "House of Hair" that WILL play it & is happy to oblige in doing so!!

  • my monkey's m.o.

  • And I wish you well....

  • Awesome song.Winger RULEZ!!!

  • I just had to let it go....

  • cant beleive these guys are coming to portsmouth next year, im so shocked, dont know how much they are gonna sell cause i only know 2 or 3 people that like winger lol should hopefully be awesome, love there new album aswell =)

  • winger is a classic rock.

    still cool.

    great rock music.

  • "Hey Kip" Me and the guys just wanted to say "HI"...

  • so kip's still at it. what great news.

  • if you think the video is cool, try seeing them play it live:-)))))

  • yeah great album but i prefer their first release though , its brilliant ll the way through , even though i cld live without hungry . Pull is great too , i think junkyard dog is brillaint . My winger faves r madalaine, junkyrd dog , no mans land , great escape , luv this song too. KARMA sounds great too , bit more looser n rocking then iv , cant wait

  • true.

The New Album: "Karma" sounds like it might potentially be the best Winger album ever made.

but if not, it'll be close second, right next to "Pull".

  • Yeah, think you're right about this being filmed in the Santa Fe area b/c Kip did live there at the time. However he now lives in Nashville.

Hard to believe this album is 16 yrs old. These songs still hold up. The new album sounds like it might be even better - every track sounds killer...

  • Most likely in New Mexico. Kip Winger lives in Santa Fe.

  • this song was from winder wha?? it was too long ago when this was popular

  • Given the musicianship and songwriting quality of "Pull", I wish that it would have been Winger's second release instead of "In The Heart Of The Young".

It's a shame that a disc as good as Pull went largely unnoticed because of when it was released.

  • I agree totally. This is such a great song. MTV had alternative music shoved so far up their ass at the time to play any "hair metal" guys. Its a shame.

  • Awesome cant wait for the new record Karma

  • Where did they film this video?

  • Hair Bands Where "THE BOMB" ! This New Stuff

Flat Out Is "TRASH !" YEA YOU ! They Can't Write

Songs & Can Only Scream ! They Sound Like

A Bunch Of "CLONES" ! & The so called Guitarists of the "New Rock" ? Simply "SUCK ! Death & Destuction Is All They Know. Do Us All A Favor "New Rock" Bands & FADE AWAY !!!

Winger Was A Class Act ! Real Musicians !

    Real Talent !!!!

  • HELL YEAH! i could'nt have said it better myself!!! peace to ya!

  • "Time to arise and deliver us from the current crappy state of music today"...well said, my sentiments EXACTLY.

  • siete sempre i migliori e per questo video do un 1000000000000000000000000000000000000

  • Where did they film this video?

  • Riding the muddy trails of oilfield Alberta listening to Hair Nation on Sirius radio and this song made my day.

  • Listening to Hair Nation makes my day.

  • why i cant i have a radio station like that in england =(, shame the UK has no sense of decent music what so ever =(

  • is this a Trip Rezac cover?

  • Winger.... Time to arise and deliver us from the current crappy state of music today, where are you? Duke

  • winger have finished a tour from there latest album last year, unfortunatly they are unactive now =( reb beach is playing with whitesnake and kip winger is carrying on with his solo stuff, i dont know when they will be back next =(

  • Uh ... new Album to be released later this year, dude. Badassery.

  • WINGER ROXXX MY SOXXX OFF!!!! lol

  • Thanks for posting! Love it :)

  • Love This One...Used To Blast It In My Car, And Cruise!!!

  • I Saw Winger During There Club Tour Supporting There Album "IV". Kip Came Out Of The Tour Bus After The Show And Signed My "Pull" Cd...He Was Really Really Cool, and Reb Put His Guitar Pick Right In My Hand During The Solo For "Seventeen"! memorable night!

  • The whole album is amazing, but this song is an honest-to-goodness, dyed-in-the wool, all out masterpiece. Too bad they released it just as the ground was about to take such a dramatic shift.

  • kip was alice's bass player for years and the butt of south park jokes. but the man can fuckin play. stop, listen and watch. don't judge...

  • dude that comment is deep.. *wink..

  • dont see how this wasnt as successful as it should of been, i guess it was because of a certain genre of music that i really want to remain nameless lol

  • This must have been off of Pull in '93. Oh well. Timing is everything. Had this come out in, say, '91 it woulda sold fine.

  • Love to hear Mark Slaughter do a version of this...Nic Vocals Kip and your solo album was great too!

  • When did Eddie Vedder steal Kip Winger's voicebox.

  • Pull has to wingers best album still..

I sing this song to bar crowds..its fun

  • Love the snakes. Love the scenery. Love the drummer in slow motion. Love the feeling of it. LOVE the song. (Like Kip's black clothing and how they fit and flatter his figure.) Nice car!

  • Damn he was hot!! I need a cold shower now!! I remember seeing him at Red Rocks (Morrison, CO) What a kick ass show! Great song!!

  • this sounds like warrants dog eat dog album

  • Kip Winger was one of the reasons that women in the '80's were taking A LOT of cold showers

  • yeah, but they took them all with me...lol

  • Then I guess you owe Kip Winger a big thanx........cuz I sure wouldn't mistake anyone for his fine ass.

  • i need a better audio card

  • omg i love this song! I used to dance to this at work:)

  • I have always loved this video. And the way Kip sings it! So rough and hot!!

  • i love winger ! this is one of my favorite's by them. i heard that when they took this video to Mtv back in the day to get air play Mtv told them to get it out of here ! there was no way that they were going to play it ! i think thats messed up !!! peace !

  • Great tune - just about the end of what I consider '80's. Grunge came and I changed my hair.
