  • well thanks for this

  • My bad. Michael Clark on drums. Etheridge joins later.

  • Gram Parsons, Chris Hillman, Sneaky Pete Kleinow, Christ Ehteridge and Bernie Leadon. Country Rock at its infancy and maybe it's best. Thanks for the post. I got a little flashback buzz. :)

  • Jerry Garcia on pedal

  • @SBA191 You're thinking of the New Riders Of The Purple Sage. Garcia was never in the Flying Burrito Brothers band.

  • @SBA191 nope. it's sneaky pete kleinow.

  • man, that steel player is on fire

  • good shit, sounds good, feels good

  • In June of '70 the Burritos played a show for the Festival Express, that was Hillman, Leadon, Clarke, Kleinow, that was several months before this show. This is the song they played. They were either tired or something else. Bernie forgot the lyrics heh. Check it out. Lot of amazing performances in that movie.

  • Whoa, I was at this show!!!! Gram was not with them anymore :-(

  • Oh Yea...Great POST!

  • If this is late 1970 as labeled, then it has to be Roberts as Graham left not long after they cut the album Burrito Deluxe....Plus Graham signed with A & M in 70 I think. That would have put Leadon on Lead and Hillman back to Bass...

  • The best late era Burrito Brothers. Many thanks for posting with the song jumps

  • Rick Roberts without a doubt, know the voice anywhere especially on Wild Horses!

  • Chris Hillman - vocals, bass, mandolin

"Sneaky" Pete Kleinow - pedal steel guitar

    Rick Roberts - vocals, guitar

Bernie Leadon - vocals, guitar, dobro

    Michael Clarke - drums

this is according to wolfgangs vault they are usually dead on

  • Not Etheridge, probably -- I think Hillman had taken over bass responsibilities by this point. Sounds like him on "Lazy Day." So Hillman, Sneaky Pete, Leadon, Clarke, and Roberts?

  • @rudeingenue I think you're right, bro.

  • Fucking youtube...you think you know a lot and have hear a lot...and you really don't know shit or what shit is out there that you haven't heard...Love it...This is great..

  • this post is the SHIT!!!!!! thanks!

  • An awesome post-Parsons FBB lineup that was solid. Great lineup of songs !

  • 17:00 apparently in the 70s burritos were "Mexican Bean Sandwiches." Its amazing how cuisine evolves over time...lol

  • Immortal Burrito Brothers! I saw the original lineup. Thanks for posting!

  • Here's my guess... I think it's the 4 piece Festival Express movie version of the band... Hillman plays bass and mando..sneaky pete steel.. dobro ..guitar.. vocals.. Bernie guitar and banjo michael clark better drumming than I remember him playing. That's Hillman singing Wild Horses.. When Sneaky Pete left the band he really took it's heart and soul with him... He didn't write any songs but he really gave the band it's alt-edge. Who else played steel like this..noone I can think of..

  • Rick Roberts is in this part of the group. He's singing lead on Wild Horse's. My guess is that this is the 71 Band and not the 70 band. I think Bernie Leadon was still in the band, Byron Berlin might have been on fiddle because they have a fiddle player.

  • Personnel: Chris Hillman: vocals, bass, mandolin; Bernie Leadon: vocals, guitar, banjo; Rick Roberts: vocals, guitar; "Sneaky" Pete Kleinow: pedal steel guitar, lead vocal (8) Michael Clarke: drums.

  • Thank You Thank You

  • Leadon, Clarke, Roberts, Sneaky Pete, and Hillman are here I believe.

  • @Darkfury96 Yeah, that's right. Roberts high harmonies really suck in this version. There's a Roberts-less version of this on YouTube with just Bernie and Chris on vocals which sounds better, though Bernie forgets the vocals - check out his blood shot eyes and wonder why...LOL

  • Thank you Mike. Thank you. Did I say, thank you, Mike?

  • fuck this! no Gram

  • OUTSTANDING. I am really loving this. Thanks so very much.

  • Chris Hillman - vocals, bass, mandolin

"Sneaky" Pete Kleinow - pedal steel guitar

    Rick Roberts - vocals, guitar

Bernie Leadon - vocals, guitar, dobro

    Michael Clarke - drums

  • Thanks for posting, this is great; I'd like to know who was in the band at this time, I'm thinking, Hillman, Sneaky Pete, Leadon, Rick Roberts?, Michael Clarke, Ethridge? maybe.... what do you guys think?

  • @jmodmon2 To tell you the truth, i have no idea. Anybody else wanna take a stab at it??

  • @MyInnerEyeMike99 By the date, I would think this is post-Gram, so the lineup likely was:

    Bernie Leadon — guitar, vocals

    Chris Hillman — bass, vocals

Sneaky Pete Kleinow — pedal steel, vocals

    Mike Clark — Drums

  • That would be the line-up, Bernie Leadon is singing the lead vocal on Lazy Days. I don't think Rick Roberts is involved. He joined in '71 from what I remember.

  • @guitarman73 RickRoberts is not on this.....for sure it is bernie on Lazy Days

  • @jmodmon2 Definately Bernie Leadon on this

  • @jmodmon2

To state the obvious, Gram Parsons, the lost troubadour of rock. He has been called the inventor of the style of music called country rock. A really interesting guy.

  • @jmodmon2 That's Leadon singing. I believe it was the Roberts, Leadon, Hillman, Kleinow, Clarke crew. Hillman had switched to bass by this, so I am sure Ethridge was gone..

  • Guys, this was after Gram Parsons left.

  • gram-era burritos LIVE I mean...christ, listen to the jamming goin' on!

  • thankyouthankyouthankyou mike! Way too much shit talk over the years about the gram-era burritos-this proves otherwise.

  • @synr789 Too bad it's painfully clear to any true fan that Gram Parson had already left the band at this point and is not involved in this recording. Christ, listen to the vocals before making ignorant comments.

  • @greatestxgift -I stumbled on this right when it was put up, and got psyched...so he wasn't there, the band is still awesome

  • @synr789 I feel the same exact way. I actually have a bunch more live F.B.B. shows to upload. I'm traveling on business right now, so I'm not able to post them yet. I have a nice HQ recording of a solo Gram Parsons show from 1973 too.

  • @MyInnerEyeMike99 -I remember my first impression of this...'man this is friggin GOOD'...my FBB history is totally rusty, but I thoght Gram came and went alot- I'm okay with being mistaken here. Can't wait to check the new stuff out.

  • Very nice :) Thanks for sending this Mike

  • great set, thanks for sharing
