Spoiler for those who want to know: Look at the hand, then look at the avatar hand (not the dream walkers). Both are 4 fingers. Muscle structure is very similar. The same basic model for avatar is used for Greg. It is very likely that the studio that worked on avatar made this, or someone that works for that studio.

Found out it was rigged and animated in Softimage XSI , and rendered in Lightwave.

Also it was all motion capture (no keyframes) and was done by just one guy.
