Had the pleasure of seeing them once in concert,must have been late 80's or so.Easily one of the best shows I've ever seen.Another example of someone who should have received far more acclaim than he actually did.

I've loved this song ever since I heard it as part of a movie soundtrack... I will always keep this song closed to my heart...It's one of those songs that just--pulls you into a beautiful experience.But in a sad sort in a way...My older brother introduced this song to me when I was 11 in the summer of 1986.I remember him driving me around and playing this over and over again! Everytime I hear it,I feel like that little kid in Mount Vernon,NY again!:-) Don't know how this song did in Australia,but I sure gave it alot of love in the U.S.!♥

Bowie and Davies both share the Australian connection. Bowie kept an apartment in Elizabeth Bay, Sydney for 10 years that he used as a base for exploration of outback Oz and tropical Queensland. Iva Davies grew up in Sydney's Northern Beaches and after touring the world returned to his roots, settling in beautiful Whale Beach where he lives today with his family. Bowie still returns to Australia to visit. He checked out our friends' shop in the Rocks some years ago. G'day Major Tom...lol

@sonoluminus My pleasure. I motored up to Whale Beach a few months ago & tried to get a glimpse of Iva's house which I believe is perched on Whale Beach Rd. It has the most beautiful view of the ocean and you get an idea by looking at the Burt's Backyard interview on YT. Check it out and you'll understand why Iva lives there. Close enough to Sydney but enough distance. BTW, that's the Sydney Harbor Bridge in the opening of No Promises. And..."Let's Dance" by Bowie is filmed in Oz, too. Go OZ!
