  • "Oh, I just raped your trumpet. Hope you don't mind."

  • @moiznahmad lmao!

  • @CKillDaCat he is growling the note. it can be attacked many ways. the way thats easiest for me it to do an air attack while growling.

  • i can listen to this over and over again and never get tired of it. i love this guy :D

  • Anyone know how he get's that attack on the note at 0:09

  • @CKillDaCat You mean the scoop up to the note, or the bend down from it?

  • look painful...

  • I love the way he squeezes his eyes REALLY tight when he plays REALLY high!!(: You should be in a jazz group or something!!

  • This guy is immense, why is there not more of him out there? Forget testing mouthpieces, his funky jazz should be testing my sound system ...

  • whats the monette factory?

  • @elduro0001 That's true for sure! I saw Doc Severinsen play a shit trumpet where he was using a rubber band to hold the water key and he wowed the whole audience and did some improv like a bad ass! The instrument definitely doesn't change whether you're a good player or not! Although, having a customized instrument (instrument/mouthpiece combo) is mostly to help you make different distinctive sounds for different performances and settings.

  • :21 "meh it's ok, i guess"

    damn that was awesome

  • I think that the horn plays well but he should exercise

  • that is awesome

  • @Ledderzed That is the single greatest comment I have ever read on youtube. I have been preaching that for eons and finally, someone else on youtube of all places agrees.

  • holy shit

  • the only possible way soembody could want to click the dislike button is because they are PURE jealous of the talent this guy has. period.

  • the trumpet you play accounts for about 10% of what comes out the end, which is why pros can spend this much money on fantastic horns, because when you reach near perfection, 10% makes all the difference to your playing.

  • afinacion muy buena y domina muy bien los tonos blues

  • @flautiski lol i agree

  • Adam Rapa's a great trumpet player...Those of you saying he plays like that because of the trumpet...you obviously have no clue of what you're talking about...to play like him it takes a lot of practice and years of playing....sure a good trumpet helps...But the trumpet does not make the trumpet player, it's his dedication and practice what makes him a good trumpet player.

  • Seconded

  • @daynelmarzo

obviously you're correct.... my trumpet teacher at byu-idaho could play the shit out of the trumpet... just beautful stuff. and he got his trumpet off ebay for $700. mine was $2100 and i can assure you that i can't play three times better than him just because my horn costs 3x as much. (i cant play 1/10 as good)

  • parapa rapa beast trumpet player

  • I love the look at the end (like) "This horn plays okay...It'll do..." (ha-ha)

  • ill stick with ma yamaha at those prices lol. i want a strativarius

  • Rapa makes that monette sound good. I've always found them waaaaaaaayyyyyy to bright, or on the opposite end way to dark and fuzzy.

  • only 20 secondes to show his talent. Wow so amazing

  • how much do they cost???

  • they are not 30000 dollars! The cheapest one you can get is around 10000 but most are 12-16 thousand but they are truly custom made so each horn has a different price.

  • Yeah actually the most expensive one is around 30k. Its inlaid with precious stones and the like, but its $30000 nonetheless.

  • the most expensive is insured for 1,000,000 man

  • I'm really considering investing into one of those Monettes.

  • You might consider getting rich first.

They cost round 30000$ for one trumpet you now=)

  • that's why I used the word investing...cause one of those things cost more than most brand new cars :p

  • If your serious about your craft you should no matter what the price.

  • Wynton Marsalis Uses Monettes. Figues why his sound is so loud and clear.

  • Look up the elisain trumpet my monet. Irvan Mayfeild plays it and it is soooo clear and crisp. plus beautiful.

  • It's the pilot, not the plane.

  • Mmmmm look at all those sexy horns in the back

  • That was sexy.

  • Adam's the man, if you like this get his cd and check out his take on Night in Tunisia..

  • Dude u could make a livin playin ur horn!!!

  • he does

  • He's the soloist for BLAST.

He already makes a living with it. Why do you think he's so good. Haha.

  • you wanna donate to a trumpet player...like seriously

  • wow

  • best 21 second of my life.

  • You have a right to look however you want to when you can play that amazingly.

  • Kickass playing Adam! Best one of all the Monnet Factory clips!

  • damn

  • I have trouble relaxing while I play. Any tips?

  • I play the trumpwt and i used to play pretty tensed up. i started by holding the trumpet without squeezing, this also releives pressure from the lips and alows smoother airflow. so just start by relaxing you hands.

  • Pinky out of the ring. Some people focus on this for finger dexterity as well. Also in marching band for looks and so gloves don't get caught and ripped in/on the ring. or if you fall or something. Just keep the pinky out it will help.

  • erm, jake sergei cant play high notes =\, but everyone else u listen yea they can.

  • Sergei doesn't play high notes very often, that doesn't mean he can't. His specialty is classical solos and you rarely see notes above high Eb in that literature.

And to be honest when you're technique and sound are as perfect as Sergei's, range doesn't really matter haha

  • wow

  • OMFG HE'S GOOD

  • dude fuck the test he can play!

  • nice

  • grande trombettista...grandissimo grandissimo..

  • dang.

    ver nice

  • I just can't listen to this clip enough. It really inspires me to progress, what a player!

  • dont expect to play like that in 10 years

  • the monette is jus fancier gear to centering the pitch more, but this is all adam here.jesus-status

  • you retarted? or just cant read? hes at the MONETTE factory haha.

  • This is a Monette trumpet...

  • i agree...crazy skills, crazy corn

  • Honestly, how much do you have to practice to get that amazing?

  • It probably took his lifetime. A lady complimented Itzhak Perlman after his concert by saying, I'd give my life to play like that. Perlman responded: I did.

  • damn, that intense piercing tone. guess thats what happens when you mix a great player and monette gear.

  • You should watch the video before this. He sounds like a flugel.

  • I can't wait untill I can play like that.

  • YEAH! That was AWESOME!

  • Go Head Now!

  • muddoes that cat is awesome. Damn that inspire me to keep practicing to scream with nice fat full sound. way to go man..

  • Who do you play for? I would guess LCJO?

  • ur an idiot. stop trying to sound smart by throwing LCJO out there.
