Absolutely terrible design for a space station...A complete waste of interior space and the oxygen and heating system to keep such a large open space climate controlled. Well, live and learn. Mir was much more pracitcal and proved so over many years of service.
No Skylab burned up over australia. There is skylab 2 (the back up, but it's in a musium) This is a mock up that was made and unfortunatly was left out side to fall apart. there's a group of people trying to restore it
Hi- How and when did the skylab laboratory get raised from the water? I remember hearing about it falling out of orbit in September of 1979. I never heard a thing about it until this video. How did all of this come to be? Thanks, John

Skylab was relatively cheap, since it recycled Apollo material.

Well, the skylab that flew in space burned up in the atmosphere. there was a backup called skylab 2 that was never launched.
