I am going to have to disagree with the comments against the changing of this song from a quartet round. The song is meant to be an argument over the leaving contestant as it dissolves into an argument over everything. In the UK version, despite being a very nice round, the characters seem to just be talking about it at each other, while here I can feel the anger, disgust, and confusion coming from the characters. That's just my opinion, though, and I do like both songs. I like this one better.
This whole track sounds shrill. Oh, and they removed all the layering of the original. Sorry, americans, but it looks suspiciously like "let's dumb it down for american audiences". The layering is the part that makes the original nicely complex. I really don't think the US actors/singers are that bad that they couldn't have pulled it off. Oh, and they layering in the chorus, while still there, is a lot smoother in the OV. Not sure, but it sounds like the range of the chorus is reduced too
@georgehenrybrandtner The shrillness is likely because this is a video on YouTube. Also, the show was revamped after mixed reviews in London. However, I have to agree with you and the American public, which probably isn't too dumb if it only let this version live for two months.
For some reason all the songs in this version pale in comparison to the 2008 Concert and Original Cancept Ablum. I'm not saying it's not good, but Judy Kuhn seems so....shrill.

Gutted about the lack of layering in it (compared with the original). However, the end part is pretty awesome. :3

Thanks for sharing, finding good versions (this version being my favorite) of Chess on Youtube is far harder than I'd have imagined.
