Okay, the brush is wrong. You should use a ceremic round brush not a wooden one.

@bethaanny Well there is something wrong with the brush... it won't heat up enough and thus, the effect won't be as great nor would it last as long. The hair is also more likely to tangle in that brush. I am currently studying hair dressing and this is what my teachers tell me. She should be using what is called a 'ceramic brush'

That is completely terrible for your hair. I've worked in Salons for 5 years. Don't ever put your blow dryer that close to your hair and if you are going to blow dry your hair to curl it, keep it a few inches away from the hair and then blow it on a down angle. you should use a diffuser on your blow dryer it will help protect your hair and also use some kind of heat protectant or heat resistance i use TreSemme heat tamer spray tht one is rllly cheap and smells rlly goooood

have you tried using a nozzle attachment on your blow dryer? I noticed all your hair was blowing around when you were trying to get that one section :]], the nozzle will focus the air current onto the roundbrush

and I didnt really notice but does your dryer have a coolshot button? using that to cool the hair down will make the job so much easier :]
