  • OUCH! hope you are ok now??

  • Im getting my first round of CHEMO right now and opting for a double mastectomy as well. Thank You for being brave enough to share your images and GOD BLESS!!!

  • Thank U 4 posting this, u r truly brave.

  • AAAAAAAHHHH!!!

    o_o

I'm glad you're ok now though!

  • Thank you for the video, I too had a double mastectomy due to brest cancer at the age of thirty. Its been a year now since my reconstruction but not happy. Did you just have silicone implants put in? My problem is my doctor talked me into a smaller size than I wanted and now the implant doesent fill out the skin so I have some creases. Plus he talked me into these implants that are called gummy bears and they are a tear drop shape and I dont like that. Yours look so nice. I wish you great health

  • @mberrett1 hi. Yes i had silicone implants put in which are the Allergan 410's (gummy) and i'm very happy with them. I n this video, these are still my expanders. I didn't like the round shape and am so glad i went with the more natural teardrop ones. Wishing you good health =)

  • Thank you so much for sharing this. I'm facing my own mastectomy in three days and this gives me courage and hope.

  • This is an amazing video to share. You must be so brave. Thank you

  • Thank you for sharing! I myself have undergone a bilat mastectomy in March of 2010. I was filled to 800cc and now have 800cc silicone implants. I am smaller than I was pre-surgery but thankful to have had the recon. You are a brave woman I wish you good health.

  • Thanks for sharing your Recon..can I ask how much time there was between each fill? Especially the first few...Thanks all the best

  • @laurs59 i had fills every 2-3 weeks =)

  • As already posted below, thx for having the incredible courage to post this. I'm facing a PBM soon, and had no idea what to expect. This is a great help to others. Thank you for educating and reassuring others. :)

  • Thanks for this video! I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 days after Christmas 2010, had bilat mastectomy with reconstruction a month later. I just had my first fill yesterday and I am already starting to feel better. I am actually looking forward to my next fill in a week. I loved how you showed the sequence of expansions, and in the final image your breasts look beautiful!!

Thank you for this uplifting video!!

  • @grazianoart thank you! i hope all's going well for you. I need to make another video showing what my new breasts are like now,as the end of that video was just my expanders at their fullest. I had my implant exchange in October so they are different again. Much more natural looking =) I enjoyed documenting the changes,as they will never look like that at each stage ever again. And it helped me appreciate my final outcome, seeing what i went thru.

    All the best =)

  • Thank you for having the courage to post this. I am online tonight trying to get information to take care of a woman who i met recently that needed help to get through her surgery time. God bless you.

  • @aylamor2003 i HOPE IT WAS OF SOME HELP FOR YOU AND YOUR FRIEND. WISHING HER A SPEEDY RECOVERY.

  • That God bless you! I also went through the same, me and my son when he was just a year and a half we chemotherapy together. His was the brain

  • Hi! After watching your videos, I finally got the courage and strength to undergo my breast recostruction. I was diagnosed with breast cancer on Aug., 2009. I had 6 rounds of chemo, my ovaries were removed this past June, and this past December I got my reconstruction. I am 46 yrs. old, and my breast is at 320 cc. I still have to go about 100 cc more.I feel great. This has helped me get my mind off the probability of getting cancer back, I feel healthy, pretty again. I thank God for life.

  • @ivemen98 thats made me shyed a tear of happiness for you.... All i ever wanted from my videos was to help, reassure and educate. And if my videos helped just 1 person, then it was all worth it. Good luck with the rest of your recon. Mnay hugs =)

  • I really pity all breast/recon patients for their courages of going through all these traumatic procedures.

May God be with you as you go through all these hard times.

  • Hi, I just had a bi-lateral mastectomy and am going for my first inflation tomorrow. I am curious, you ended with a total of 500 CC? What size did that put you at a B or C cup? I know the larger a woman is the more it will take to achieve a certain cup size. My PS has my goal at 600 CC, from what I can tell in the video I'm close to your size but maybe about 10-15 pounds heavier. He told me that should put me at a full B or C. Just curious.

  • @Peggysuewho hi there. My expanders were 500ml but my implants at exchange were 375gram implants. This puts me currently at a 34/36B but that is for a sport bra. Once i am back in underwired,it may put me to a C cup but not sure. It depends which is the best fit around the bottom of the implant.

    I am 5' 10" tall and around 67KILOS.

Its hard to match an implant size to a cup size.I was told if you expand to the size you want to end up,and the note that size with your surgeon, then overfill.

  • Hi, I love what you've had done and was hoping for some advice. I am having a bi-lateral mastectomy on Saturday after finding a lump in my right breast. I had a lumpectomy followed by radiation treatment a year ago on the same breast. Did you have any rad. treatment yourself? I've been told that expanders can be tricky afterwards but as I play competitive tennis and run alot I don't want a lat. dorsi recon. Do you know anyone who has had expanders following rad. treatment? Many thanks, Beth X

  • I am actually at 4th expansion and I started out with only 50 ccs in each breast due to the bruising, and have recently started at 100. The interesting thing is though, and what I have noticed, some doctors make the incision cut at the bottom of the breast (that's where my stitching is), and others, like yourself i see, is across the nipple? Why is that you think? I mean, mine is filling up nicely but, at the bottom where it's stitched all the way across, it's kind of square at the sides...

  • yes I am also tommicats..your breasts look great, i wasnt so lucky they left the expander in to long and i have major rippling ...the doctors only saw me once after surgery and I will see him again on the 12th. I am fine with all of this as atleast I have a breast:)

  • You look great! I recently had a bilateral mastectomy and am due for my first tissue expander inflation next Tuesday. Definitely excited but i have some bruising on my left breast and I was wondering if you experienced any of that after your surgery?

    Thanks.

  • @islandgal78 hi. yes as you can see from my photo's i had alot of bruising but it went down after a couple of weeks. Good luck with your 1st expansion. I hope my video's helped you see what happens during one.Its really not too bad but i recommend taking pain killers about 45 mins before your fill and also a muscle relaxant such as Codeine (uk) or Flexirile (usa). And take them regular for about 48hrs after.I found i had to sleep upright for 2 nights after a fill also.
