I used this cooler on my I5 750 for about 3 months and was far from happy with it. For such a large cooler, it doesn't perform very well (btw I reseated it several times and reapplied the TIM with no luck). Finally I got an H50 (still a rather low-end cooler), but the H50 gives me 10ºC better temps for roughly the same price...
Read some legit reviews before buying! The fan IS quiet but has very low cfm, probably why it doesn't cool well. Arctic cooling really needs to step up their game...
@maffin006 46°C at full load, that's simply impossible - btw - my focus is on quiet systems, because that raises my productivity more than a cool cpu. All fans and profiles set to silent.
@maffin006 Mine is even 80c haha, i have to re-seat it by someone else i clearly fucked it up.. oh and that's 3,7ghz full load, i even did 4ghz and it went to 101c haha im lucky it didn't blew up.
do u think i could clock my E5400 (2.7ghz) to around 3.0ghz, on idle with stock cooler its around 32-37 Degrees, also im getting zalman z7 plus case comes with 5 fans so what you think?
done that mate and the heatsink is fixed securely.nothing els i can do. its down to fan speed.(runs too slow) altered fan speed settings in bios and got it to round 50c room temps at 30c so yeh thats good as im gunna get mate.
just asking... its not related in this video but, do someone here have tried fitting a Cooler master V10 on a Antec 600 case? does it fit? with just one optical drive? im worried that it will not fitt because of the optical drive..
@bambihumper Usually its the opposite, the freezer 7 pro rev.2 is cheaper and i think(correct me if i'm wrong) it doesnt cool as well as the xtreme rev.2. If you can choose eitheir one of them you should probably go to the xtreme rev.2, but first check if you have enough space on your case to install it, if you don´t, the freezer 7 pro is a great deal to ;)
i dont know if you are rong, but yr probarly right, cause the extreme is more expensive and its bigger. It would defenetly fit in my case. I have de cooler master haf 932 :p, thanks for the reply
No problem mate , you're not going to have problems fitting the cooler in, that case has more than enough space for it and i i think u made a pretty good choice, im picking my freezer xtreme rev.2 tomorrow ^^
Hey, well I decided not to get an i5/i7 since i already made my build back in the summer with a q9550. But I am a Zalman fan and they are good quality fans. What i would reccomend is, you could Get a zalman fan like the 9500 I have which if you put in silent mode in bios is 18dba, then you could buy a zalman 1156 mounting bracket for $3. Or you could buy a specifically made 1156 socket cpu fan, I haven't really looked around at those much but also the corsair h50 is expensive but looks good.
i got ths 2 so very silent

of course its impossible

@uiaiui not impossible, using liquid nitrogen cools it down to -40°C lol

Can this thing cool the motherboard too at same time
1Susanoo 1 year ago
@1Susanoo / nope it can't cool down the motherboard at the same time, because there is no airflow directed towards the board.

Just wondering if you have found a silent cooling fan for the i5/i7? I'm looking for one myself.
