Well, now days Unholy / Blood build is out of date, specially with the T10 set bonuses. The most common and highest DPS build for Unholy would happen to be Unholy / Frost, yes you lose your +AP and increase crit from Blood but you gain an extra 4% STR and you also gain extra Haste which we all know isn't a terrible stat for any class. : Overall, nice video.

@herynag As Unholy Expertise isn't that great a stat, definitely not something you aim for specifically. If nothing else, the main reason is because there is leeway

in the rotation, aka a spare GCD, to use on a dodge/parry.

When I play Frost DW, I am capped, as Unholy I only carry like 18.

@cmacd23 hey im doing the same dps mine is around 1700-1800 im a lvl 80 unholy dk they say that its a rotation you have to do, it kinda works for me but i think it will increase when i get my pvp gear

I was DW frost before 3.3.3. And I out dps'd everything, except maybe rogues on single target. The buffs only increased that. DW frost ftw.

from the tests i've done on the test server i've not seen any need to change the frost Dw rotation and the spec for me was 15/56/0. I put points that might have been put into icy reach and deathchill into endless winter as now it will give 4% str.

Hey i am a 5.6k GS dual wield DK frost. your vids help heaps usually i am 1st or 2nd on the dps charts. Blood is a waste of time i reckon. Only unholy and frost are actually decent. Bloody good new DW Dk's deal more damage in patch 3.3.3 cant wait for it...

blood and unholy are about equivelant in single-target and unholy bests blood in aoe by far. I hear lots of people say unholy is supreme in both single-target and aoe but I beat unholy dk's 300 gs points above me (addon) in single-target and i can almost keep up with them in aoe. get the skill and dk's a high dps class no matter the spec

Unholy is BETTER than Blood for single target damage. It's a significant amount, but yes it is better.

You comparing yourself to someone with a higher GEARSCORE obviously means nothing. The only time Blood would beat Unholy if there were two targets up at all times next to each other due to the cleave of Heart Strike.

As of now, Frost DW is ~500-2000 DPS behind Unholy as of 3.3. (Not 3.3.3)

@Chireru93 your heart strike hits 2 targets, hard to get true single target dps, unless you take the boss' damage received by you, then divide it by the time the boss battle went, thats how you calculate true single target dps :)

Im currently raiding ICC 25 content and my gear is fairly similar to yours, with around 550 arm pen. After being 17/0/54 for awhile, i changed to 14/0/57 with Tier10 gear do make the use of 'reaping' for extra Scourge strike.

Current rotation is (single target):

IT-PS-BS x2-SSx2-DCx2-SS and so on.

But I always find myself fairly low in the DPS table, the mages/rogues/hunters are just too high up in dps scale, pulling around 9~13k and im stuck at 7~8k. When will you make Unholy DPS vids?

i am a dk i use similar Rotation i do icc 25 my dps is 12k -14k so what u should do is USe IT-ps -Pestilence and DND Boil blood and when the Dts almost ware out us SS x2 and pestilnce again :)

I currently play Frost in 10 mans and just about everything but progression raids where Ebon Plague is needed.

I'm looking forward to the buffs, a lot, as they are greatly needed. Frost DPS has fallen behind, as it does not scale as well with ArP, which is all over ICC itemization.

As for would I play it more in raids, right now I play whichever spec is needed for utility, so I doubt it will change much. The night before this raid, I was playing Sindragosa as Frost, so I never really know.

It actually doesn't, just Scourge Strike gets split by recount into two separate entries: One for the physical, one for the shadow. Add them together and they're by far the highest, Deathcoil is second.

With Unholy, I pulled about 4.5 in heroics like OK and AN, over 5K in pretty much the rest of them. I switched back to Blood a couple days ago and the results are pretty much the same, except I noticed my single target is a lot higher, which I was hoping. It'll be even better when I get the 2 piece t10 and the 3.3.3 patch.

I have the 4 piece t9 bonus and around 5.1K gearscore and I was pulling high DPS through Unholy AoE, but my guild started complaining about not having a lot of single target DPS'ers (uber ones, anyway). I pulled 11K DPS in 25m Ony, but that was due to my Unholy's AoE/disease talents on the whelps. Another DK, Blood, nearly kept up with my single target DPS on Ony herself, not to mention with all that AoE DPS I pull aggro and nearly die.

I'm still untouched, DPS wise, in both Blood and Unholy specs, on my realm atleast. 3.2 rebuff'd Unholy a bit, so I switched from Blood to Unholy, but 3.3.3 seems like either Frost or Blood will be optimal, so I'm back to Blood and getting myself attuned to Blood again. I'm sure Frost will be be the best, but it's so damn annoying.
