I don't think people understand solos. Nick has never done a solo just for the sake of the solo. A lot of great guitarists in history have made skilled solos, but valensi has the style and pace that always goes perfectly with the songs, which is why he should be considered one of the best. his solos always add to the songs, but don't overwhelm them
I didn't know who Valensi was before I saw this video in my suggestions, so I'm neutral. Just because there may be people better, doesn't make this bad.

Lets be honest here. Nick and The Strokes are amazing. My favorite band indeed! But it takes more that a couple of notes played together and make a beautiful melody to be a god. Take Led Zeppelin for example. They truly are gods!

@jeremyhillaryboobphd really has nothing to do hipster jeans. and it just so happens that the FOUR double stops in a row sound particularly good to what else is going on in the band. you ever stop to think that sometimes a guitarist doesn't have to be all flash to make an idea sound good? i think the way he slides into the different double stops sounds cool as hell, and it really drives this section of the song. also the fill at the end was fucking BADASS.

JESUS CHRIST EVERY FILL HE PLAYS IS JUST A SCALE not even out of order LOLOLOL DEFINITION of bad improv and it sounds like hes practiced it at that! ahah and not mention the solo doesnt add to the song at all, it INTERJECTS the songs because the song entirely changes just for the solo probably because hes too shit to play a lead in line, needs a massive stop so he can be like "ohh ive got to solo now"

plus i dont like fleet foxes cos they were on the radio, i dont listen to the radio. i didnt even know them til after id written all the other comments u replied to. someone at my work put a mix cd on and mykonos was on there, i thought it was neil young or fleetwood mac at first, and i was very surprised at the quality of the song when i heard who/what it was. u still havent said what music u write (if any), and whats wrong with saying mate? not in fashion or something?

Lets be honest here. Nick and The Strokes are amazing. My favorite band indeed! But it takes more that a couple of notes played together and make a beautiful melody to be a god. Take Led Zeppelin for example. They truly are gods!
