again i don't see an issue, when the attacker is comitted to a punch "THEY AREN'T THINKING ABOUT GETTING BLOCKED" where the inside hand might be able to land a hit faster then the defenders hand the DEFENDER is moving at the same time, meaning soon as the block hits their hand is already moving to counter. have you tried any of these for yourself? or are you just looking at demonstrations "PURPOSELY" showing you with openings so you can see what to do? or what is supposed to happen? so sad...
Fan's Hand is supposed to leap straight in, lift up the opponent's right striking hand and palm strike to the center of the opponent before the opponent finishes his right strike. The opponent can not use his left hand when his right strike is in full swing. The practitioner also made a mistake to take a side step instead of leaping straight in, thus leaving himself empty! Without lifting and striking simultaneously, it causes a delay that gives the opponent the time to strike. Part 2
This technique appears to be 扇通背(山通臂)-Fan's Hand which is a palm strike, not a punch. The practitioner committed a mistake of not blocking and striking at the same time. Fan's Hand 's focus is onto the left forearm's lifting and the right palm striking simultaneously. -- Part 1
man, I want to see some videos where they are doing something right! show us some "simple and direct". it's easy enough to put down others, particularly when they are old, dead, or in china. It is a much higher level of understanding to show how it could be done well. so show us the results of your martial research, eh? otherwise, perhaps you could label these more correctly "tai chi done wrong" or something like that. that way, I won't bother to watch...
This one I agree with totally. But maybe you could contact them directly instead, to share your opinion. Haha... Not that nice to discredit old masters who have been around and possibly have made many positive contributions too.
It is not important who shows it. The presentation is my only concern. Some audience may get beat up or hurt after they learned this technique from this presentation!
Sometimes it's just obvious, thank you again for all your very informative responses and arguments on videos such as these even though not all are as obvious. We need people like you, hope you keep up the good work.
