I look at this and laugh... maybe good shooters but "tactically" if you were running at a house with no cover you would die! One half retarded dude with a 10/22 could pick you off. LOL If you wanted to make it more real add some cover and obstacles while one is covering. Perhaps some moving / pop-up targets too.

The two vids that come up have some guy wearing a tight top with a belt positioned holster standing in a ready position. These guys are running a course in freezing temps, have winter gloves on, thick clothes on, body armour, tactical vests, unsteady feet and a rifle on a sling. They are doing just fine look at the targets.

now i know that .22's are cheaper and great for training but is it going to have a negative effect when it comes to shooting a higher caliber? say you carry a .45 caliber for your CCW. is the training you did with the .22 going to cause a negative result when it comes to using your .45 because of the difference in the shooting characteristics?

yeah training with a small caliber can have some downsides, but the whole point of this is you are actually DOING some training, id rather train lots with a small cal than little with a big cal

the1911guy1, because of cost, we(family and friends) always start the day with carry and "normal" defensive weaponry. That way, our first feel is with what we would use in a situation. Then, all sorts of time and ammo (usually .22)can be used to focus even further on breathing, and perhaps stressful formats. I have found that training in that manner to be cost effective, yet maintaining familiarity with both sorts of arms.

this is just a suggestion. do a dry fire run before you go live, and the AR wether military issue or civilian is designed to where the operator can reload the weapon without changing your sight picture, doesnt matter as much if you have an optic mounted, but master a stock weapon before you start throwin optics on it. but thats just me, train like you fight. take it easy

lol, "law enforcement only" a few years ago behind my house was some train track, and this place where the was old concrete and HUGE burning pile. (we got perision of course, it was some friends') and next to it was a junkyard. (omg, so many free targets mainly 50 year old medicine bottles (arent those worth a TON of money?) and other bottles). next to it was the police range it was mearly a hill with some targets in front of it, a plywood house, and two sets of posts for standing by it

My roommate does that same shit. He'll stand a few feet behind the firing line, and it's not just noise. I got a pretty bad powder burn from a sporterized Swedish M33/50 carbine, and that's without a muzzle brake on it. While he was fumbling through a reload, he nearly shot my other roommate in the back. Needless to say, he doesn't shoot semi-autos any more, and if he does shoot, I keep a very, very close watch on him.

My 10/22 runs fine if I get it the best quality ammo.Other than that it always jamms on me because I use it for carmint hunting.For tac shoots like this I would use AR-15 or K-1.Nice to see some ruger 22 pistols in there my first ever .22
