Cylinder: Charmo 47mm(66cc) Lifted with 3mm spacer, Ported wider ports wtih better flow, angles, surface and durations etc.My durations: 151 transfers, 213 exaust. (ofc not for cross use ;d) 3,4mm cutted for winning back the compresion after spacer. Exaust 78% of cylinder diameter(single port)
2 strokes are awesome :D I dont have any cross bike myself but i love the 2-stroke engine :P
Getting much HP in a 250 2 stroke is np, but getting godly hp on a cross rpm band is harder..
Myself i just like the porting etc, working on a old suzuki ts50x. Theese bikes got 2,5HP original, 5-7HP with tune setup(toppspeed around 90km/h). My ported one went 135km/h with a little wrong carbourator settings(to lean mix).
Now i hope for better cause have maximized the compression for 98octan fuel with octance booster. Ported better, 2mm bigger carbourator and digital ignition :D RPM kick from 8k ->16k (with old duration 140/208, stock ignition(with modified spark moment, 24mm carb)
Having ridden the old CR500s, that generation of big-bore 2 strokes were beasts, and were hard to ride not just because of the power, but because they were heavy, had primitive suspension, and drum breaks.
I've had every brand and size of bike. I just sold my 4 strokes and got a 2011 250SX, and it is amazing! Great power, but easier to ride than you would think. Better turning and handling than any 450 I've had.
@MxQuestion572 With just a Pro Circuit Works pipe and Shorty the 2012 250SX that MXA is long-terming put out 57hp on the dyno. Stock was 51hp.
57hp is more than any current 450. Porting and polishing the internals would easily put it over 60. A ported and polished 300SX would be north of 65hp, 4T works bike territory.
The problem would be putting the power down. 65hp with a 2T's power delivery would just liquify the ground in wheelspin. You'd have to have a surgeon's touch on flat corners.
@Cisco606 In both laps the rider is the same, Mike Sleeter. Obviously it comes down to 1000 things, but still the difference isn't huge or such a small gap would be impossible.

@TheKawi125rider They aren't squeaky, it's just the way Sleeter taps the brakes. I've seen it in another video where the brakes are loud, it doesn't happen to others on ktm's
The 125 and 150 is soo badass when you riding them

250SX with the $600 300SX kit please. Hello 60HP in a 20+lb lighter package, see ya 4-bangers.
Keep up the good work KTM. How about a direct injection 250 soon? Or just cut the 155hp 800cc DI Rotax snowmobile twin in half. Google "Rotax etec".
DonMegaphone 7 months ago
@DonMegaphone 60hp??? wrong MXA put a 300sx kit on the 2011 ktm250sx and it only did 51hp.....Even with the 300sx kit all the new 450s do more hp.

@MxQuestion572 It's in the current print edition of MXA, it's not on the web yet. Those are Pro Circuit's claim.
A flywheel weight would calm down the delivery for you 4T riders.

Woah, gues the difference isn't really that much!!
