I dout that those missiles in the first episode of the Macross Saga were nuclear, the smallest tactical nuclear weapon detonated was 17 kilotons and blow a city in a 5 mile diameter. Were they were just bombs which the ones in the episode were highly advanced missiles. Also the zentradi warships are only .75 miles long and the explosions beside them were small in comparison, I think they were just high explosive personally but I may be wrong with my nuclear history.

They should just nuke the Robotech Masters. They could have a team break into the mothership, leave a nuclear warhead, get out, and detonate the thing. Of course that would be logical and easy, something the Masters saga is alien too.

@Octane64 The other side of that being, would a nuke do much damage? By this point humanity can't have many left, if at all, and a starship whose trash compactor walls are essentially laser-proof might be able to take a contained nuclear explosion pretty well. A race that essentially MADE the Zentraedi, who are themselves ungodly durable, is more than likely able to make ships capable of taking primitive nuclear weapons to the face.

That's true. Remember in the first episode of the Macross Saga when the Earth defense fleet was fighting the Zentraedi battle fleet and Breetai said "Why are they using such primitive weapons?" According to some sources, those "primitive" weapons were nuclear ones. They did very little damage to the Zentraedi ships (which were built by the Robotech Masters).
