I was born with the same thing. You need to learn to love yourself with out the make up. I think you look fine. I been picked on and it made me into the person I am today. I am a Security Officer and I am a martial artist with some MMA training..

Hello! My name is Casey and I also was born with a bilateral cleft lip. Ill be 21 in February and I'm close to getting my braces off. I've had them for 4 years and I'm so ready. I've had many many surgeries in my 20 years to correct my problem. The last 2 I had was to make my nose a bit smaller and to do bone softening in my teeth. It's been rough but for the most part, I feel very blessed. I don't look as bad off as some people born with this condition do..

i was also born with a cleft lip but I almost never wear make up when I go out. I dont feel comfortable using make up as a tool to cover up my scar and I also feel that people are going to notice more when they see that Im wearing a powder to cover up the scar. thats just my opinion. check out my video and tell me what you think.

U look pretty without make up! My sister fell on a brick today n I'm looking up videos for her on how to cover up scars. She's going to school to b a nurse n is graduating this dec. Just thought it was ironic that u had an internship at children's cuz that's where she works right now n is hoping to get a job there too! Maybe u might known her?

Im 40 yrs old now, I was born with a clef palate,,,all I can say to all those people out there who tease or stare at us because of our birth defect, these people are VERY shallow..& if anyone stares at me for a long period of time I say to them. I KNOW I AM BEAUTIFUL, ARE YOU JEALOUS>>>HEHHEH..good on you luv for making this vid, love your attitude...you are beautiful...best of luck

I know this feeling about the make up thing. I actually would never go out without make up (the entire face), b/c around my nose area my skin is kinda red, i´m not sure if its b/c of a blood flow disturbance bc of my 2 nose jobs. And ofcourse to cover the scars means much more self-confidence to me. What is most important to me is to cover scars and draw my "upperlip" in a perfect way with a lipliner followed by filling the lips with lipstick, then my lip never looks like it ever had a problem.

As for the makeup on and off, don't beat yourself up too much.. You're a pretty woman with or without. Glad to hear things are finalizing for you though, also glad to see your braces route is going well also..

I went the other direction after trying braces, of just removing the teeth and getting dentures, just started that route thursday with the removal of 10 teeth, and slowly and pain stakingly going to continue that, it hurts like a *****, lol!
