  • that sounds like the "ecc" (early childhood center) that jack went to when he was three. he loved the class, and we were very happy to have him learn to listen to music, do abc's, books, play, etc. What a nice time in his life. Yes, we are indeed fortunate to live in NJ where special ed is flourishing. Jack has a wonderful sunny disposition which is still there, and at age 6 he is talking quite a bit, and if you listen hard you can figure out what he is saying.

  • I love this! My youngest has PDD-NOS and will be 3 in just a few weeks. He'll age out of Early Intervention and he starts a special ed preschool in September. I was told the class will be 6 to 8 students with at least two aides along with the teacher. If my son needs his own aide, he'll be able to get one. I'm also in NJ and I think we have some of the best special ed programs around.

Jack reminds me of Jason in the way he dances around to the music :-) and the coloring on himself :-)

  • Hi mom2fivemonkeys and leonia girl, I have to agree we are lucky to have these programs in NJ, I look forward to my son starting in Sept, I am confident he will be as good as Jack at age five... he will be 3 in Sept. best wishes!

  • thanks for your nice comments. jack is almost six now and he has made great progress with ABA therapy in public school kindergarten. his class has only 6 students with an aide for each student and his teacher is VERY good. he has learned to read and can do math and he is mainstreamed for music, gym, art and library. thank you new jersey for your wonderful programs for special ed! i really ought to post another video to show the progress.

  • Wow you are so blessed to have good programs for your grandson. I am in Tennessee and they are not very good, well at least where I am. I alredy tried to get both of them on disability and got denied and we just finished the neuropsych testing Wednesday. It is so hard to keep my chin up but just reading this gives me hope. I'm glad Jack is doing well on his journey and I hope to see another video.

  • I love this video! It is amazing how much he acts like my son Aidan! My daughter and I were watching this and Aidan came up and jibber jabbed thinking that was him in the video. They have the same facial expressions, the way they dance to the music everything. Thanks for sharing I really enjoyed this.
