  • The Swede 8 with the wooden handle is, in a word, "sweet" and your brief review was, as usual, very informative.

  • When are you going to make an review on Sanrenmu G704?

  • Nice vid,I want both!

  • @TheDmc311 Thanks! Btw, I'm currently preparing a folllow-up video with a comparison of the Swede 8 and Swede 10.

  • Hollow Ground... :'(

But for the price, can't really complain.

    okayguy.jpg

  • Ikea, LOL!!

  • @stschmalhaus Huch, ja, ich meinte natürlich Review :D

    Danke für die Korrektur ;)

  • Another wonderful review. Now I have my eye on this.

You are going to make me go broke.

  • i have a feeling that knife beats most spydercos, benchmades and all that hyped up buissness in strenght , cutting and ergos lol its only 30$ here and its made in eskilstuna sweden

  • That's a very good review, I'm alredy an EKA-fan, but still...

If you like Swede 8, check out the EKA Nordic S8 Limited Edition, my favorite...

similar to the Swede 88 but with a thicker blade...

  • @nemidas Thanks for your recommendation!

  • excellent review!

  • Very usefull review. I looked at these knives about a year ago but didn't get one because I didn't like the AUS 8 blade steel. Now it is 12C27 and the price is £25 I am getting one. Typical Nordic features; affordable, functional, modest and high quality. It looks like the only knife that will beat my current lock knife; the EKA superswede!

  • :) now i watched review till the end and you said it is better for wet outdoor enviroment, think i go with kraton then

  • i decided today i will buy this knife so i searched on youtube and i found only 2 qouality reviews but that was enough to convience me not to change my mind. Know i have to think about adventages of handle material and decide which one i will buy. Here in shop they have black kraton and wood... what are your positive and negative sides of this two types of handle. I suppose kraton would be better if it is wet condition...

  • very impressive and comprehensive review, thank you sir!

  • very nice review sir! went to my local gun shop for a new pocket knife today intent on getting a small folding Buck id had my eye on. came away with one of these in black instead! as soon as you handle this knife you can feel the quality. id never heard of EKA before! thanks for posting!

  • @hobo31009 That's great! I'm glad my video was helpful to you.

  • Bought one this morning-excellent-; nice t o know it's a black Kraton handle-I was wondering!

  • @simcolx I'm glad you like the knife.

  • stschmalhaus Great video! I just ordered one i was so impressed with your presentation. Thank you!

  • @motomissle Thank you! I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

  • Danke für das informative Review! Hab's heute per Amazon erhalten und bin begeistert! :)

  • @Dater Das freut mich. Viel Spaß damit!

  • Great review, i might have to pick up one of these :)

  • first you turn me on to SRM knives and now I just have to get a Swede 8. ;-) Can you recommend me a place to get it online please?

    (sadly lack of clip/lanyard hole :-( )

  • @Schmidt54 eknives punkt de

  • @stschmalhaus danke! :)

  • Eka is cool, no nonsense, no tactical focus, simply good tools. I love them.

Also try the unique 88, preferably the Masur variant.

    Good, informative clip!

  • @MrDagon007 Thank you, my friend! Yes, I know that the Swede 88 Masur is one of your all time favorites. It's also on my radar - but not at the top of my wish list at the moment.

  • Just the knife and pouch :)

  • Nice to see some knives that aren't common in the US.

  • I don't know how they do it for this price - some other makers should take note. Great review by the way

  • Good vid man i have that orange version also in Sandvik steel.I rounded the base of the blade with a metalfile because if you carry that knife in your pocket that edge is damn sharp but otherwise a very good knife i paid 25E for it :)

  • @TheValineurheilija Thanks for the tip regarding the sharp edge. It doesn't bother me that much because I usually carry the knife in the sheath. - What accessories came with your knife?

  • WOW for an affordable knife like this, it looks GREAT!!! The wood handle one is very beautiful, and it comes with a leather sheath?? and torx bits!!!?? I never had a knife that came with torx bits, very cool. :). Great review Stefon, makes me jealous and i wish i lived in Germany so i could get one of those. Your reviews are very detailed unlike mine haha, so very good job on that :)

  • @TheLazySpoiledKitty Thank you, Casper! But in this case you should wish to live in Sweden. - As for the detailedness, your enthusiasm far outweighs the lack of details. ;-)

  • @stschmalhaus Opps, i meant Sweden!! haha. And thank you that really means a lot :). I'm not as detailed but its good to know you like watching me talk :)

  • Hallo Stefan!

Dennoch vielen Dank!

    LG Mike

  • i just went on ebay on my phone and the cheapest swede 8 is the wood one for 43 bucks shipped. there are alot of blades id rather buy for that much dough. i just got a fully serrated endura for that much. love your reviews. and the introduction to new and unusual knives. especially knives we dont see in the states too much. thank you. and i too enjoy mrdagon007. first class gentleman like yourself.

  • Very beautiful. I will have to look into their availability in the US.

  • love the blade shape.

  • Sweet blades, I love 'em! I'll have to see if they're available in the US.

Thanks for the vid. I would've never known of their existence if it weren't for this.

Die Bubinga Version sagt mir sehr zu.

    Danke für deine Videos.

    Chris

  • @DaRealRincewind Gern geschehen, Chris!

  • the bubinga is a very beautiful pocket knife :)

  • I live in the UK, both our knife laws are crazy but i do envy your ability to edc folders like this, i would dearly love to edc this knife. both these knives appeal to me greatly, I like that the wood version has a leather pouch and the kraton version has a nylon pouch: nice.

it looks like the wood version has full steel liners and the kraton version does not, am i right here or mistaken?

Stefan i really enjoy your videos and your good humour. I very much look forward to your next video

  • @akirayarrenoka Thank you for your kind words! - The kraton version also has full steel liners, the kraton overlaps them, that's why you don't see them. The kraton model is as sturdy as the bubinga model. - Have you ever considered a Spyderco UKPK as EDC knife?

  • @stschmalhaus

Yes i have considered it, the G-10 version is too expensive and for the money I think I prefer the Boker Plus Trance 42 over the FRN UKPK. I know you are familiar with both, what are your thoughts?

  • @akirayarrenoka

Apart from the awful finish on the holes on the framelock side of the 42 version of the Trance as we all know (why Boker, why?)

  • @akirayarrenoka Yeah, don't remind me of these holes... LOL

If I had to choose between the Boker Plus Trance 42 and the FRN UKPK, I would go for the UKPK.The Trance is probably sturdiier and can stand more abuse, but that's not so important to me, because I usually do not abuse my EDC knives.

  • @stschmalhaus

Me neither, i just really like the trance: wonderful design. I will probably try the FRN UKPK sometime though.

Thank you for the videos, information and all the laughs Stefan.

  • @akirayarrenoka The laughs? Ah good, so at least ONE got the IKEA joke in my video. LOL

  • @stschmalhaus

Yeah, you're a funny guy, in a very good way. Keep up the cool gear and especially knife reviews Stefan

  • Good video. So the kraton version doesn't have the full steel liners like the bubinga version?

  • @iamtorcman Sorry, that I didn't show this. The kraton version has the same steel liners as the bubinga version. The only difference is that the kraton overlaps the liners around the edges.

  • I have the buginga version.. It's an awesome knife, for the price. Buy one!

  • Nice review! Looks like a couple of good knives. Thanks for sharing

  • @GunznGear Thanks for watching!

  • Thank god Germany has that 2 hand opening law. I hear that the one hand opening knives easily penetrate flesh, but the 2 hand opening knives disintegrate upon contact with flesh.

  • @26point2madness Good point! LOL

  • @stschmalhaus Here in California, we have decent knife laws, but when I pick up my daughter at school, I have to carry my Spyderco Urban. Only non-locking knives with 2.5 inch blades or less are allowed at schools. I guess there are politicians that believe if someone wanted to do harm at a school, this law would stop them.

  • I think the bubinga version would make an excellent gift even for nonknife type guys.

  • What are knife laws like in Germany?

  • @GMGvanS Please watch my video (ize2KmNvWZQ) on the meaning of the number "42"! It's about the German weapon law.
