I just had my dual cherry bomb glass packs taken off and the FLOWMASTER SUPER 40 2 1/2" pipe into 3" tips God that shits awesome love your setup mines the 1993
it sounds a little too busty but it sounds good it has that bad ass v6 rummble!. me myself i think v6 is the way to go yes v8 has more hp n tq but i cant get enuf of the way my v6 runs n sounds i dont have any vids of it on here but ill make 1 or 2 of a get down 25-60 n rev up its a 94 gmc sierra 4.3 262 v6 vortec flowmasters dumped!. ttyl
sounds real good for the six man awesome! you did it right with the high flow cat on top if it all! the computer does not throw a code from the set up does it?
sounds good i gotta 93 its got true duels and two glass packs the packs are welded together and the pipes are welded at the tips and yea its for looks but i looks good and sounds good to
Sounds Good Bro! I am going to the muffler shop today to take off a Thrush Welded and put on a Flowmaster 42441. I am considering him put on dual pipes out the back. Will that make a difference??
@jmc6000 Btw man thx for posting this vid this vid made my decision on what exhaust to get on my GMC Sonoma only thing i need to get now is some nice tips
@MrKharper123 actually, dual exhaust can benefit you.done properly you will gain a little extra hp and torque but it should be true dual exhaust (2 individual pipes) use the proper diameter pipe for your engine's output and use a flowmaster or such.i did a cat and muffler delete ran stock pipe to longe tube large diameter cherry bomb glass packs. stretched the outlet to 3in and put long tube tips. didnt care if i lost power, sounded badass and my 3:73 gears made up for it. actually gained a little
@HotshotMC2 Tbh I got the exact same thing just today minus the tips and used the orginal cat that was on mine and sounds the exact same,I asked the guy about high flow cats and he said its a gimmick. He said if you went into any place and asked for a high flow cat they would just hand you a magnaflow or some top brand name cat. Im up in Canada but just thought id give you my 2 cents i will have the vid up of my exhaust soon to show you that i dont think it matters if its high flow or not.
@HotshotMC2 with a 91 s10 you don't have tp have to have a catylatic converter as long as there isn't a O2 sensor after it. all cars 97 and newer has to have a catylatic converter. 96 and older dont have to have one by law but it might depend on witch state you live in too.
@burnbabey12 I know it has the O2 sensor b4 the cat and i can take it off but it will kill my gas mileage cuz there will be no back pressure. I'll probally still go ahead and get a high flow cat anyway.
I'll get this ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dllViewItem&item=190490379112&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT
@HotshotMC2 actually back pressure is what kills your gas mileage... back pressure is good on a two stroke but not a four you want to minimize as much as possible to get more power and more miles to the gallon.
@burnbabey12 Actually not having enough back pressure can kill the mileage.A cars engine is set to work smoothly with a certain amount. Too much or to little can effect the performacne and gas mileage. It needs to have some restriction to work properly. That is if you wanting to use your truck as a daily driver and still wanna get good mileage like me. Otherwise take off the cats, the muffler and just run straight pipe. 8mpg lol but loud and sounds cool.
@HotshotMC2 Im sorry but that is a myth i have built and raced both circle track and drag cars and trucks back pressure restricts the motor by wasting the engines energy trying to push the exhaust gases thru a restricted system. Back in the day when things were carburetor the back pressure would shove some of the fuel air mix back into the carb giving it a second shot of fuel but reducing the back pressure didn't alow the engine to do this now the computer in cars fixes this today...
@HotshotMC2 Oh and opening up the exhaust system allows the engine to run cooler puts less pressure on the heads and allows more room in the cylinder for more fuel and air mixture......
@HotshotMC2 as long as you keep the proper size pipe for your engines out put and you have enough pipe length you dont have to worry about back pressure. if uget headers with a slightly larger diameter collector , it should still be ok, but you can always put a reducer on it. im getting ready to do a cat delete on my 5.7 sierra, im leaving the stock size pipe on it and keeping the same length and i already have flowmaster super 40 delta flows on it. it is true dual exhaust which also helps
i have a 90s s 10 truck and me and my dad puta 350 in in and i have true duls going back to cheery bombs i have a set of flowmasters and tips i wanna put on it.
@jmc6000 Great sound!! I have a '98 4.3 Vortec that I want to sound as aggressive. I know it won't have the deep mean growl as a V8. But that is as close as you can get with a V6.
I've got a 91 S-10 with the anemic 2.8..but I cut out the cat and put on a 30 series flow into twin tips and it also sounds like a v-8..hard as that is to believe...
@jmc6000 alright found the flowmaster 40 but theres like 4 different ones. Which one? Classic, Delta flow, Orignal, or the Super 40? And what brand of highflow cat?
yeah the smoke is JUST from burning oil. when you start up your motor, it needs time to warm up to operating temperature, because when it is just started, the pistons are cold and therefore have not had time to expand, making the clearence between piston and cylinder wall smaller, and getting a tighter seal. when you rev a cold motor, oil is left in the cylinder and then burned upon the next power stroke. thats why i reccomend warming an engine before a video.
@313foxbody420 Acually bud the engine was fully warmed when I recorded the video. The tad bit of blue smoke is from worn valve guides that are very common on old small blocks and the 4.3 as well.
@jmc6000 thanks, bud. enjoy the frame hanging down 6 inches past the body line. chevy stopped making trucks when they switched to IFS, and the frame hanging down. their last real truck was the chev k10. the greatest truck ever made. and because we cant take over a couple of countrys with oil, we gotta pay, and now we cant drive these great classics because they suck fuel like a vacuum cleaner. well, at least we have the small s10's, and rangers to cope with this. see you at the trails, bud.
"because we cant take over a couple of countrys with oil, we gotta pay, and now we cant drive these great classics because they suck fuel like a vacuum cleaner."
I put a dynomax ultraflow and mandrel bent tail pipe on my buddies 4.3 vortec. Maybe it's the vortec heads but the sound from that is a bit less boaty.
@RichardSoullie Well it was way better than the stock cat which on this truck was clogged with soot and oil since the orignal 4.3 had a rod knock and wasnot running to well.
hey there does anyone know if they make aftermarket exhaust systems for a 1991 gmc jimmy i just cant seem to find any thanx. that truck sounds nice btw
@91trxryder Acually the water is from water vapor that comes out of all exhaust systems perticulally on a 50 degree day with 100% humidity. The oil is from bad valve guide seals.
now i must get a flowmaster for my 4.3 1994 blazer i just replaced the exaust with a high flow cherrybomb cat. and some cheap shitty muffler but now gunna cut that fucker right off and get me a 40 series that sounds sick man.
Heyy man i got an '84 with a 2.8 that I use for goofing around in the woods (so it has no cat) and want to run true duals. What do you think has the best tone?
hey @jmc6000. i have a 93 s10 pickup. I'm fixing to redo the exhaust. I don't know if i should get flow master or glass packs? also are you running single exhaust to dual, or regular dual exhaust? by the way i love the way your truck sounds!
Go with a chambered muffler like flowmaster or something simular on the 4.3. Anything eles would sounnd like crap. BTW, the truck was runing a single 2.5 inch pipe into the muffler then dual 2.25 inch pipe out of the muffler.
nice truck bro, makes me regret selling my 1990 s10. now i roll in a 2003 zq8 but i still wish i had the old girl. nothing like it. i have a couple of vids of it. check them out sometime.
Is your 95 throttle body injected or central port injected? If it is CPI it will sound even better than the my old 90 with TBI. The CPI motors have a higher lift cam in them from the factory! Hence the reason why they were called the 4.3 Vortec HO!!
Well when you get it inspected there has to be one on there and my dad is too lazy to replace a striaght pipe with a cat every time it comes around for inspection.
I have a 92 C1500 with V6 4.3L, in theory mine should sound the same as yours, do you think it would??? Otherwise nice vid, the truck sounds really good
Where did you get another tailpipe that's parallel to the original one for the dual exhaust? I have a 94 jimmy and i was thinking of getting a dual for it, with the y-pipe. and where did you get the high flow cat? did you need to weld it in?
If you look at a couple of my comments earlier you will see there was a highflow cat installed instead of deleting it alltogther. Plus the 4.3 tends to get a tad raspy with no cat at all.
in no way what so ever does a cat hurt an engine its doesnt clog it up its set to run at that amount of back pressure alltho removing them does add hp in most cases if you dont increase the air into the motor it doesnt run properly and can hurt the motor
has your gas mileage decreased at all? im thinking of this setup on my 03 sonoma.

jmc6000 2 years ago
well ide be lazy too!
well it depends who you get it inspected by
dont go to jiffy jube or some place that does it professionally
just go to some hole-in-the-wall shop that has a state inspector sitting around adn theyll pass anything.

this truck sounds nothing like all of the other s10s with flowmaster 40's i like this one better
BassRacerx 2 years ago
Highflow cat with the a single regular 40series will get you very close. ;-)
jmc6000 2 years ago
thanks man..i want to avoid having my s10 sounding like the hondas with big mufflers on them..they sound like mopeds.
jreese66 2 years ago

elfishgrin 2 years ago

967527 2 years ago
Stock cat is too restictive!
jmc6000 2 years ago
Acually it will be a tad bit louder and little raspy in the upper rpm range.
jmc6000 2 years ago
And this is the standard 40? I definitely think this is what I want on my s10 blazer
gamefarm83 2 years ago
Regular 40 on her!
jmc6000 2 years ago
My cat is a gutted stock one. Think i'd get the same sound with just the flowmaster 40?

BassRacerx 2 years ago
2.5 single from the cat to the muffler then 2.25 dual out of the muffler.
jmc6000 2 years ago
Sounds really good, dude. Is that cold weather steam or smoke?! Haha.
otter4x4 2 years ago
A little bit of both, haha! It needed valve guide seals, just like a an old 350.
jmc6000 2 years ago
hey dumbass thats a 4.3 not a 2.8!!!
Kenny42581 2 years ago
how much this cost u
xX53preble53Xx 2 years ago
the exhaust was n the truck when it was bought from the prevous owner.
jmc6000 2 years ago
Sounds awesome, I'm thinking about the same set up.
Absolution923 2 years ago
Sounds really good for a v6. Good idea with the hf cat. Without it the V6 engine usually gets a bad sound.
86redbird 3 years ago
very impressive. i gotta 93 s10 w/ a Thrush Turbo II dump and no cat...
love the way ur's sounds tho
Booger8993 3 years ago
that year 4.3 didnt come with roller rockers. If ur friends did then it was put in by someone.
Keitherr18 3 years ago
4.3s did not come with roller rockers from the factory till about 2004.
jmc6000 3 years ago
was it the 90-92 4.3's that had roller rockers? i have a buddie with a 91 and it is equipped with roller rockers.
suzukirm80 3 years ago
it was after 91 because mine dont hav rollers, so prob 94 at least and later then that
jimmyman1991 3 years ago
Hey, that sounds pretty good. Kind of sounds like a 305.
F150TuffTruckman 3 years ago

hottrodder7574 3 years ago
I have a 92 C1500 with V6 4.3L, in theory mine should sound the same as yours, do you think it would??? Otherwise nice vid, the truck sounds really good

i wish my S10 sounded like that...are you running true dual or just splitting it?
mrfish1991 3 years ago
Just a stock Y-pipe and they are split at the muffler.
jmc6000 3 years ago
Where did you get another tailpipe that's parallel to the original one for the dual exhaust? I have a 94 jimmy and i was thinking of getting a dual for it, with the y-pipe. and where did you get the high flow cat? did you need to weld it in?
Artyfil 3 years ago
The tailpipes where done custom at an exhaust shop. The highflow cat was bought at autozone.
jmc6000 3 years ago
why did you buy a new cat?
just cut it off and keep it off!
all it does is create pressure for the engine
kreigsmann 3 years ago
If you look at a couple of my comments earlier you will see there was a highflow cat installed instead of deleting it alltogther. Plus the 4.3 tends to get a tad raspy with no cat at all.
jmc6000 3 years ago
then get a larger muffler
a cat just causes damage to the engine in the long run
kreigsmann 3 years ago
i hate the cats to but how do they damage the engine?
90z28 2 years ago
your an idiot, cats dont cause damage to the engine, they help the engine with emissions you bloody imbisile
buickgn1987 2 years ago
bloody imbisile? you must be a queer brit
how can helping emissions help the engine?
it damages the engine by getting clogged
deal with the truth fag
kreigsmann 2 years ago
mmmk whatever you say el ca piton
buickgn1987 2 years ago
....wow
kreigsmann 2 years ago
fuck the environment, it's not worth the extra back pressure a cat creates /sarcasm
Z2theONA 2 years ago
...............
kreigsmann 2 years ago
in no way what so ever does a cat hurt an engine its doesnt clog it up its set to run at that amount of back pressure alltho removing them does add hp in most cases if you dont increase the air into the motor it doesnt run properly and can hurt the motor
learn the truth fags!
89wagoneer 2 years ago
back pressure causes too much pressure in the piston cycle that theres to be no pressure at all
THATS how it damages the engine and THATS how it decreases HP.
....bitch....
do you have a 89 wagoneer?
are those v8s?
or the jeep 4.0 v6
kreigsmann 2 years ago
when the motor is designed to have backpressure having it cannon hurt it
89wagoneer 2 years ago
