  • Get your dyno calibrated. Either that or you forgot the push the "M" button...LMAO

  • was it consistent one more than 3 dyno runs? Dynos vary, I had my old Supra dynoed on the same dyno 8 times and each time was different by more than 20 bhp per time...

  • thats total bullshit ! get a real dyno

  • What I know to be the case from running my dyno is that BMWs typically suffer about 18% (give or take depending on trans). That would be 90 hp loss. Mustangs like ours are conservative by roughtly 15%. I would have expected 405 at least. I didn't see a cooling fan in there, but surely........

  • That is about right. Most "auto" transmissions are in the 20-25% loss. Plus you must remember that on the dyno the engine is not being cooled as easily. Throw a big fan in front and i bet you see a few more HP. But not anything huge. I raced one and it was quick, but i quickly ran him down. Wonderful cars though.

  • Drivetrain loss on E60 M5's are 20 to 23%. So this sounds about normal to me.

  • Was this a Dynojet, Mustang dyno, or other dyno? Some dynos reading lower then others. Also, how many miles were on the car?

  • This was a Dynojet 248? I think, we bought it used 8 years ago but the models seem to stay the same.

  • Well, with the research on other stock 5.0 v10 M5's is they have 420ish rwhp. I even checked K&N filters site and looked at theier stock readings and it was in the 420 range stock. They don't post the peak #'s though, you have to read the graph. They also use a Dynojet.

  • I've seen these with over 440bhp at the wheels STOCK. (with the M button pressed ofcourse and the car set in dyno mode.

Yes, different dyno's read different readings, but I'd say something was up with that if the run was conducted properly, which I have no doubt.

  • guys the dyno is reading WHEEL HP. NOT flywheel horsepower lol. The car is rated at 507 to the crank! Not to the wheels. For the m5 bone stock that is about right depending on the conditions and the type of dyno. If you have not done the charcoal filter delete you should. It will give you 15-20whp just from removing that secondary filter alone.

  • I would take it back to the dealership and bitch at them for giving me a defected M5

  • press the M button assholes

  • The M button was pressed & all the settings were made. If it wasnt pressed it was only putting 320 at the wheels

  • then i suppose you got a lemon....because 180 hp isn't lost to the drivetrain

  • your gay

  • wow that was really low! I wonder why?

  • no press M button, only 400ps
