Reminds me of a certain service at St Thomas' in Crookes. That was smoke and mirrors, with little doctrinal basis, and ended in scandal. It was fun while it lasted though!
Worship...sacraments? "You have offered polluted bread upon my alter" You say the the table of the Lord is a burden, and ye have snuffed at it" Give me the Eucharist where Heaven touches earth and we become one flesh with our Lord. The cross is our salvation "not our so called Free Will" This is what "Free Will" will lead to. The God of gimmicks....I was just confirmed in the Anglican Communion....The Bishop annointed me with oil and laid hands on me. Truly the Bible speaks about true worship.
btw- thanks for showing that revolting "church service" at the beginning. While I am ever grateful for freedom of religion in America and would not change a thing, this is what happens when you open the doors. To me though it appears more a sin of bad taste than blasphemy, laughable though it is. To each they own, I suppose. I'll take my traditional Anglican/Episcopal rites, thank you. Incense and wine are no more sinful that Slipknot knockoffs telling us to repent.
you're kidding me? that first clip was a church service? i'm starting to think the best way to save the church is to burn down all the "christian" bookstores and especially their music sections
LaneCh, Your videos are a tremendous blessing. You will hear the same continuous words by men who are more concerned about pleasing men than the glory of God. Keep posting truth. for either God builds bridges and brings revival or God causes division and that brings upon revival.
Finney sounds good to me. What you're criticizing is right, but I don't think Finney is guilty of your accusations. He sounds like a true Christian. Look at his eyes. Use your God-given discernment! Thank you Jesus for discernment. I agree with GospelPilgrim...Lane, your videos are wonderful but this one is off the mark. Don't worry SO much about denominations and theology. Love God, love your neighbour.
What do you think the command "Love your neighbor" is? It's theology. The Word theology literally means knowledge of God. If you'd like me to quit reading the revealed Word of God and worrying about getting it right, I stand with the apostles in saying, "You judge if it's right in God's sight for me to please men or God."
"thank God we have you here to tell us that everyone else but your views are wrong"
I'm glad you're grateful. You're obviously not paying attention to the Bible that's screaming this out. I'm glad I can point it out for you. Tell me, do you believe that there is a such thing as right and wrong?
Excellent series of videos exposing the heresy going on today. Many of our forefathers warned us of these days coming and I am afraid it has been ushered in without much resistance. Keep up what you are doing. There is reminent still remaining here and we must speak up and remain pure in thoughts and deeds. God bless each of you.
Hi Lane. I love some of your videos. This one, however, is more "entertaining" than the entertainment it's meant to debunk...kind of like watching eggheads burn strawmen. Just my opinion, heartfelt thanks for some of the other great stuff!
I'm not sure what you mean by "entertaining" than the entertainment it's meant to debunk. Will you elaborate on that? Are you referring to the clips at the beginning?
Sorry, it was a quick thought. Though the clips at the beginning would be laughable if not evidence of mass deception, I thought the short clip of Calvinists bebunking Arminians was a strawman. Perhaps an unfair thought for such a short clip though...no insult intended.
I see now what you are saying. Thanks for clearing that up. I disagree, of course, but I'm glad to know it wasn't because of the clip at the beginning. I wasn't trying to set out to make an entertaining video, but rather contrast that "entertainment" with something Biblical. I'm glad it wasn't perceived in the opposite way because of that. Take care.
Hmmmm....its interesting how Horton and crew what to castigate Finney for his praying for unrepentant pastors in his day (no doubt they were Calvinist at that). But what I find more interesting is how this they will refuse to look in the Calvinist own historical closet. Let's not forget how Calvinist MURDERED Michael Servetus So before you go around criticizing someone such as Finney - maybe you should look into the "Father" of your doctrine . At least Finney didnt kill anyone in his day!
You obviously are either ignorant of the situation or with Servetus or are willfully suppressing the truth about it. Calvin actually pleaded with Servetus until the time of his execution to renounce his heresies, but he would not.
Here are two links you can go to for more information about the subject. That is, if you're interested in actually learning about it:
As far as Finney, he might not have killed anyone physically in his day as far as we know, but what about the countless multitude that is in hell forever as a result of his heresies? Does that not count according to your "logic"? You can search through my videos to find more information about Finney.
You neglected to mention that it was the Geneva city council, not Calvin or the Consistory that executed Servetus.
Servetus was under a death sentence from Rome for publishing a book that denied the Trinity. When he sought refuge in Geneva, Calvin sent word that his safety could not be guaranteed unless he repented. Calvin was called as a witness at his trial where, after getting the trial postponed several times Calvin honestly testified that Servetus' book denied the Trinity.
Ummmm, Calvin is not the father of our doctrine....the doctrine taught, believed and died for goes back to the scriptures and as far as man goes all the way to Augustine. Calvin was the more prominent one to bring these doctrines out and the Synod of Dort created the T.U.L.I.P. or five points of Cavin after John Calvins death. You must choose whether you will serve Man's power (Arminianism) or God's sovereignty (Calvinism)? which will it be?
i can't believe they actually do this in a church. i've been to churches that were definitly entertainment businesses, but i never seen a rock concert in a church
nice 'drive by' video to keep your theological party base excited... good stuff bro. ;-)

The beginning of this video highlights why the church should quit trying to entertain: it does it VERY poorly.
