  • Thank you for sharing Antarctica!

  • Nice! I can't imagine if I plan to live there. SO COLD!

  • At a whim, I was interested in learning just a bit about Antarctica. Your video proved very enlightening. Loved the music too. Thanks for taking your time to post.

  • Well i am only 13, and i have always wanted to visit antarctica it really amazes me. I have tons of books on Antarctica, but this video is probally one of the best, as it has now shown me all the different wildlife. Would you recommend going, and is it pretty much safe? Thanks x

  • p.s. your pictures are amazing.. also i hope you dont mind me asking, how long did you go for?

  • Well safe is a tricky thing to answer. It's safe if you are talking about being around other people, but the climate is harsh.

Antartica isn't one of the places you can just go out and buy a plane ticket to go there (yet). You would need to be part of a group, be it part of the military, part of a scientific research team etc. Before going, they will ensure you get the right survival training. I went for five and a half months and it was a tough gig. But very much worth it. Hope you make it.

  • ok

thank you for the great sildeshow and info, i will take it all into account

  • i love all animals and im soo sad cuz of global warming but penguins are my favorite animals

  • Thanks, place I cannot visit, in your slide I can visit it. You nature lover.

  • This helped me with my project!

  • Excellent. Glad i FINALLY got around to watching this!

  • illuminating, thank you. are you a researcher?

  • Thank you for commenting. no I wasn't a researcher. I actually went down to photograph it. These are the rejected slides that weren't used. They do look better than you see here (compressed for you tube).

  • Great aerial shots! Amazing and wonderful how visitors to the explorer's shacks leave them as they are.

  • hey what music is that?

  • It's the title track on the album "The Time Machine" by Alan Parsons.

  • very nice. The Dry Valleys especially are rarely seen.

  • Thanks for your comment. :) It's a shame the photos aren't as sharp as the originals. It seems to lose its impact when it's compressed for you tube, -(and also using a cheap old scanner). :(

  • Fascinating place. Nice shots.
