Take a video camera that is also capable of taking still-shots. Take lots of photos, especially photos of those you hike with because you will probably not see them again. Value every day that you are out there, even the days when it is hard & painful . Those days sometimes make the best memories. Keep a journal and post it for others to see. Don't be afraid of the desert, it is a beautiful place, too beautiful to miss. Say hello to Donna Saufley at Agua Dulce hostel for me.
