  • When I visited The mississippi Gulf Coast in th elate 70s I noticed several apartment complexes in which only the concrete slab, and plumbing pipes were left standing. I thought about buying them thinking a contactor or builder had gone bust. It was the ramains of apartment after hurricane Camile in 69. I was told they were full of party goers before the hurricane and long gone after.over 50 cars lined the beaches before the storm to would be belonging suffers. They too neve rmade it. Stupitidy

  • It's sad and a sign of stupitidy. The people of new oleans were told to evacuate the city, an dmost put themselves/families, and city/federal/state workers at risk by not doing so. I remember another hurricane several years ago in which the city was about to be hit by the big one(this one fizzled out thankfully), and people were interview in motels having hurricane parties. These fools were the lucky ones too. Stupid but lucky.
