@drakkula77 That's Allen Whitman, bassist for a surf rock band called The Mermen. At first I was bummed that Dave LaRue wasn't on this tour, then I saw this video, and figured I could handle that. :)
very good performance Joe. it's a pleasure to see you back at Marshall amp.But see the bassplayer playing with a pick is HORRIBLE.HIS NOTES ARE NOTHING GROOVY. STU HAMM OR DAVE LARUE ARE MUCH BETTER; THEY PLAY WITH FINGER AND SOUND BETTER. I dislike this bassplayer.sorry,it's my opinion!!
I miss the JSX's. Much better tone, clarity, and sustain in my opinion. With the peavey amps, he could play a stock signature head and be completely happy. But with Marshall he has to take a stock amp and have someone mod it to make it sound acceptable. Bring back the JSX Joe!
Hi, my name is Richard Lynch. I'm not trying to spam videos with useless speeches or negativity. I'm just wondering if maybe you can take a minute out of your time to hear the song i just uploaded, i just want to be heard. Thanks alot, Much love to music.
Music is a Celebration Of Life, good for the Body, Soul and Mind ! ....just consider it necessary stimulation next to Food, AiR and Water! When i hear a good song it transports me to this other world of simple bliss and calm mental serenity, a place of zen, a Holy Sanctuary I never want to get out of.
Even at 56 yrs old, Joe is articulate and shredtastic as ever. The artists now would love to have a drop of his talent and relevancy today. Long live Joe!! Keep giving us new stuff, we love it!!
He takes care of his body. He just recently started eating meat. He had been on a raw food diet me thinks for a while. Or something of that nature.... My Mother is 50+ and she looks 30 also. But then again.... She takes care of herself lol
Seem him the concert before this one in toronto in december, absolutely Incredible. The crowd was great and Joe showed why he is one of the best guitarists to ever live.
I think I prefer the peavey era sound!!! This JVM isn't cutting it very well. Could be the recording but chickenfoot sounds are also like this, but satch is always satch in his playing!
@81giorikas He used Marshall from 1987 until 2001, and he used them to create all his masterpieces, including The Extremist, Crystal Planet. In my opinion his earlier tone with the Marshall is far superior to his Peavey tone. I didn't like his Peavey tone one bit. It sounded fizzy, inarticulate and it didn't compliment his playing very well.
This song is cool, but why do they keep cutting away from a close shot of Joe to these dumb wide shots! Very distracting. I wanna watch Joe play more!!
holy shit..his best work. i'm takin the kids. the good ears love his big music. one step ahead as always joe. band is super tight. campo and joe are a force. way to stick with your drummer buddy. from drum samples to this...incredible.
@Joachim10 from what i've seen from his behind the scenes photo shoots, he has stylists to help him achieve his look. he's one of those guys (admittedly, a little like me)
who gets a good look because it helps his business out. makes things more cheery during concerts.
and let's face it, a cleaned up look can benefit ones personal life too, eh?
I'm not trying to bash Joe for this- I respect him more for it. if i were him at HIS age, after having lost MY mother....
No Stu ? :( Can anyone tell me why Joe's fans don't like Stu? He's a talented bass player but I have some DVD's of Joe (Many) and Stu get's booed??? Joe even comments something about "They Stu him, because they love him" but seriously what's the story? Anyone........
@Inferent The fan's don't like Stu? on the contrary, they love him ''they Stu him 'cos they love him'' as Joe said. It sounds like they are booing him, but in fact they are shouting ''STUUU''. Hope that has cleared it up.
Oh my.. Oh my.. Keneally and Satriani man. Sounds like a match made in heaven. I never heard such a good intergration of guitar and keyboards before. This is just beautiful man.
@rjake007 ''Strange'' if you happen to be fan, however there is nothing strange about a member of the camera crew facing away from the stage. You can clearly see he is holding a pro camera.
@guitardavept I attended Joes show at the strathmore in DC. I have been a satch fan since day 1 and let me tell you I was bored out of my mind. As was most everybody else. We had a birds eye view of the audience looking down on everybody. All floor seat were full. After about 5 songs peeps started to leave and cell phones started coming out. about 3/4 into the set the peeps in the front row were all looking at their cells.. Joe was boring live it was really disappointing. but hey oh well.
I have only been playing guitar for around 4 years, but Joe Satriani has to be my main influence to play guitar. I have never witnessed a more mindblowing performance than any Satch song.
