Lol that's so me. The whole day revolved around me building something up. Got stuck several times at different points. Took a break, did something else, although all this distraction didn't let my mind get a break from the problem. I was frustrated to no end and was considering if I want to be a programmer, but damn the feeling of getting a problem solved is worth it.

6 years later I've got HTML, CSS, Javascript and C++ to go at, I realise I need to look more into a physical realm, buy an arduino.

Yep, I started C at my 9th, 15 now and learned a lot. Just keep going, start with simple stuff so you get more motivated to continue. I actually write MMO server emulators now in large teams, reverse engineering, etc. And like RaleTheBlade said, if you come across anything you have never seen, google it. Best way. Good luck with it and hope you'll succeed :)
