personally i really enjoyed this sung by you. it sounds lovely although i see where some of the other's viewer's opinions come into play. your tone is beautiful, and your diction is very clear. great job. hope to hear more sometime. (:
Well, I can see that your YouTube viewers are very shy about offering advice!
Seriously, you have a beautiful tone to your voice. As someone who takes voice lessons myself, I understand that singing for recitals is all part of learning correct vocal technique. I never sing as well in front of people as I do on my own. Kudos to you for being vulnerable enough to put yourself out there for people to tear apart, and for being humble enough to take their criticism. Keep up the good work!
Well thank you for that, I appreciate it. You're absolutely right though I do never sing as well in front of people as I do when I'm in a practice room or sometimes even in lessons, but it's all a learning experience and I very much enjoy every aspect of it. I'm glad you even took the interest to comment on a stranger's performance and give good advice that I will be sure to utilize and hopefully result in my becoming a better singer so thank you for that as well.
(cont.)...high notes and very operatically and you will have a standing ovation. You keep studying voice, you work on those essential factors, and you add more emotion to this wonderful piece, it will be fantastic.
I agree with Rusty completely. You are pushing your voice in an incorrect manner. It has to be more forward in your face in your soft palate. You need to have better breathe support from your diaphragm and open your mouth on those high notes English- your low notes sound "swallowed" and your high notes sound "shouty". Think of all your notes being on the same shelf. This song requires much dynamic and feeling. Sing the low notes very annunciated and with feeling. Then grow powerfully into the
I don't want to appear rude, but there's a lot you need to do to improve. Get that soft palate higher and don't push so much on your throat, especially when you move into your passagio. Try covering for those notes, and if you want dynamics, take power from your core, not your throat.
It also sounds like your placement is very far back in the throat. If your goal is a resonant, clear tone, you've gotta send your sound out through the mask of the face.
Thank you for the criticism. I do know that there is a lot I need to do to improve and you have the placement right on. It's a bad habit I formed when I was younger and I'm still in the process of reversing the process. Trust me though, the sound being in the back of my throat used to be much worse than it is now.
Well I'm glad to know you're aware! I know how hard it can be to work through some of those old habits, and I commend you for that! You're doing a lot right, there's just some things you could improve.
@rusty205xxx shut the fuck up. it was perfect and if you are going toi say: i dont mean to appear rude: well that just has a lot to say now doesnt it?
Were the girls just to look good? I would've loved to hear a trio going on...although I have to say guys always sound great, no matter what they sing.
Well, we were doing a concert and each of us were performing our own solo piece. So at the end of my song, one of the girls moved forward and then sang her piece, while the other girl and I would stand there. That's why I moved back after I was done. Thank you I'm glad you enjoyed it.
