It doesn't know how to utilize the virtual hardware. Seems to run....then crash. You need a 386 machine or older... Try old versions of virtual box or something with out a lot of capabilities. That was made to run on a machine with less than 25mhz and less than a meg of ram...

In order to install, You have to have:

-Those fucking old floppy drives

-A very old partition table configuration

-A very old CPU model

-An extremely old RAM model

-A compatible video card (No, the top-end NVidia Graphics cards don't work)

-PS2 mouse and keyboard

I bet this may have occured to let your VPC crash:

1. Either you typed the graphics adapter things that your comuter have, wrong.

2. Either the floppy disk or cd is damaged.

3. If you are using a copy from someone, not Microsoft itself, it could have a virus.

4. Or the C:/ drive is damaged.

I bet it is 1 that you have mistaken. Pause at 0:24 to see the text: "In order to operate correctly. etc."
