  • That was reallyy good :D but try keeping pace in the beginning. Longer notes aren't always prettier.

  • Her vibratto is a little too strong, it downplays the sweetness of the song. But her voice is really clear and strong. I don't think this song was suitable for her voice. But she has an amazing voice :)

  • First of all you are all really pretty. Second of all I think you did this really well. I think you could have let your self get freer with your acting, you are obviously really focused on how your voice sounds, (which is good). I'm sure you are aware you vibrato is slow and big, I guess that's just a preference. I say let it do what it freaking wants, but do be careful because sometimes that vibrato can make you pitchy. Good work! Nice bird:)

  • I don't like when she's trying to be very loud at the vibratos, it makes her sound like one of those car alarms...

  • Its good but its too powerful- she needs to soften it down as Johanna is only a frail naive thing

  • @OnWeMove trust me, this isn't powerful at all. >.>

  • @Sasoriscarecrow No, i mean that she sounds like she's forcing her voice to be loud, when johanna's voice is soft and quiet

  • @OnWeMove That depends on the interpretation, I guess. But, the original is not soft or fragile. In fact, the fragile thing is new to Johanna. She is actually QUITE insane. Now, don't get me wrong, the original sucks, but the soft fragile girl is a misinterpretation. My personal opinion, of course.

  • @Sasoriscarecrow really? ive never seen the original before. how is she insane?

  • @OnWeMove It should be in the sidebar. It isn't very good ((not good at all, in fact)). But, there are some Johannas that are crazy, but still sound very good. And, a loud vibrato is a good way to get insanity. Like any character, there is no "one way" to play them. Some, like you, see Johanna as a sweet innocent, trapped in a cross fire of madness. Others see her as a paranoid schizophrenic who has become delusion from years of solitude. There is a lot of different ways she can be played.

  • @OnWeMove have u ever seen the actual musical before? The movie version of Johanna is such an embarrassing. Johanna is nervous about not frail at all, this song is suppose to be a quasi opera song, if anything it needs to be much stronger. With that said, very good job

  • Good voice!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think this is really good!

  • While it's true this version has some bumpy places, it sounds pretty similar to the song in the original Broadway touring production.

You may not like it, but that doesn't mean she can't sing.

  • thumbs up if you disagree with everyone tht says she sucks :D

  • Awful! Terrible accent, vibratto that's horrendous and even worse acting! It's almost funny but then I think of how such a beautiful song has been ruined. Please someone teach her how to sing. She asked in the song!

  • @amdramer

    you try and do it!!!

shes really good, its not as easy as you think being on a stage acting and singing

and i know that from personal expierience!!

  • always use your diaphragm

  • Personally, the accent is very american and it should be english....

  • In Sweeney Todd, I always imagined Johanna to be sweet, and beautiful, and have a very SOFT voice...But it seems every version of this song is annoying. I mean don't get me wrong, this girl has a beautiful voice. I just don't like this song ...when she sings it. :/ But, I've only seen one version of this song I actually enjoy and it was done by bellaluce . I dunno, I just like her version:3

  • The vibrato is supposed to be somewhat heavy in this piece. Listen to the original broadway version. Excellent rendition.

  • I'd just like to say, from hereon you are my role model! I'm 13, my name is Nicci and I ADORE Broadway and I really love this song even though it's really hard for me to sing (even though my range is pretty good!) I hope you can showcase your talent somewhere! You have an amazing, powerful voice. I am thinking of posting some videos of me singing soon, but i only have a crappy camera. Anyways, thank-you for appriciating Broadway!

  • who sings this she has pretty much the same rang as me

  • looks like hilary Duff in some angles

  • is that your real hair or a wig??

  • don't like the version!

  • @TheJoeLchen ...This is the original version. The movie is like an annotated book for general audiences.

  • I feel like you are forcing your voice.

  • -.- It's so hard to control vibratto. At least for me it is. Especially when I'm nervous. But I think it sounds lovely. Just look at Sarah Brightman. She's always all aAaAaAaAaAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaa. xD

  • @EvanescentWoodNymph You know I've been a musician for at least 15 years and I can tell you; when your nervous, it really helps it! As long as your not too crazy nervous. LoL

The shaking in my demeanor made my vibrato way better. LoL

  • I'm no music major, but I think you sound very nice. : )

At any rate, I'd definitely pick this over the version on the '82 DVD.

  • Timing, swetheart. Timing. Also, watch your mouth and the vowel shapes you make. Make sure your not chewing your vibrato, and you must must must sing this with a light English accent. It sounds to harsh without it. Tighten your diaphragm and do it again :)

  • Vibrato - all about support. Tighten those abs, girl,

  • Ok so I just critiqued your Rocky Horror's Touch me, and I was listening to your other songs when I stumbled on this one. I just wanted to say that this would be absolutely beautiful if you a. shortened the length you hold your vibrato or b. slowed down the song. You held the vibrato too long, but by far the best one I've heard out of them.

I'm a huge Sweeny Todd fan so having a harsh critique such as myself say I enjoyed it (which I did) should tell ya something.

    Keep at it. :]

  • Is that really you singing? Wow! Bravo!

  • Beautiful! Your pitches are so accurate.

I disagree, though. There isn't too much vibrato. The vibrato does, however, sound a little out of place; if you sped it up and narrowed its range, I think it would suit the song and sound better.

  • too much vibratto

  • @musicislifegrl thats how u sing this song

  • @pinkpunk9510 not that much lol. beautiful voice not saying it isn't. but vibrato must be controled to a point that it doesn't sound to much like you're gargling. i'm a music education major and have sung this piece before. this is not good vibrato. my teacher would whack me over the head if i did vibrato like this, no offense. still beautiful voice none the less

  • @musicislifegrl it doesnt matter this song can be sung or not sung with vibrato

if u hear the Broadway version its the same thing

  • too much vibratto

  • You sing this beautifully!

  • it's beautiful :)

your voice really suits this role. :D
