Oblivion stinks in and of itself. Mods make the game more interesting. If it weren't for a new, cool mod I see every now and then, I probably wouldn't play oblivion anymore.  Least not often.

actually the Avatar has a limited AI that they abandoned from the full game.

you would have to manually change the factions or reputations of the citizens for it to actuallly start rampaging

Actually, the Ps3 and Xbox versions are identical. I own the Xbox and PC versions, and my neighbor own the PS3 versions. When we brought them side to side, they were basically the same, with the exception of a very very slight framerate boost on the PS3.

I feel sorry for you, stuck with the inferior console version instead of the moddable PC one.

Actually, I own both the PC and Xbox 360 versions of the game. Equipped with the proper video card (I have an 8800 GT), you can not only get better graphics than on the Xbox version (Xbox and PS3's graphics are the equivalent of about medium-high settings on the PC version), but you can also get them at a better framerate then on either.

If you're good at websurfing, you shouldn't end up with viruses. The only real downfall to the PC version is horrible vista compatability and gfx requirements

Actually most user made and submitted mods are well balanced. The hack mods are mostly made by players for themselves. Us in the modding community look down on hack/god mods that people make and release.
