White people dissidents are going to be treated like trash, and the rest ho help harass this Mexican people ho are taking over this nation in the future by the new generations of Mexicans Americans people ho will remember how their ancestor got treated!!!!OUR new generation will make that determination base on how they are treated in this society!!! I feel sorry for all this racist people they are doom LOL!!
Thus, all these statistics don't account for the millions of "legal" children of illegal immigrants receiving billions of dollars in government benefits paid for by tax payers. Remember their illegal parents don't usually pay taxes. This is all possible because of a flaw in judicial interpretation of laws regarding citizenship. So please don't claim that illegals give more than they take. They don't, and their presence is at least as expensive (if not more) than the war in Iraq.
You have no proof to support your lie that illegal parents don't pay taxes. Don't feel bad. It's a common lie spread by the anti-Hispanic left. You've probably just been duped into believing that and didn't take the time to verify the facts before spreading what you heard or read on the internet.
Actually, I am Hispanic. My father is from Argentina and lived in Mexico for 7 years. You can't say it's a "lie" that they don't pay taxes. Why would they pay taxes? That would simiply identify them as an illegal, making it easier for them to be deported. My next door neighbor is Mexican. He owns a paving company, only hires Mexicans, and none of them (including him) pay taxes. I don't need to hear about this on the net, as the intelligent people can see what illegals are doing to this country.
Actually, intelligent people understand that the behavior of one individual (i.e. your neighbor) is not sufficient to draw a conclusion on an entire group. The fact that your neighbor doesn't pay taxes is not sufficient evidence to conclude that no illegal alien pays taxes.
guess that throws out the myth that ANYONE who speaks against illegal immigration is a racist against latinos. Ibnuts thank you for being bold and resisting the pressure from so called "Latino advocates," like La Raza and Mexicans without borders.
ibnuts, I see that you said "they don't USUALLY pay taxes." but you were challenged by someone who interpreted it as "they DON'T pay texes." Well you are absolutely right in what you said. The stats are all over the internet. And, Illegals acount for over 90% of social program funds like food stamps and Medicaid. Anyway, great comment.
List one real statistic, from a credible source that immigrants have a more positive than negative effect. You'll see that it's difficult to get any "real statistics" on them because THEY'RE ILLEGALS! Everything is estimates.
credible is subjective. If a person does not want to beleive the numbers, then he/she won't. So your assignment is to Google "Illegal Immigration costs" and be objective.
Your assignment is to stop watching Big Time Wrestling and reading Greg's hate blog and to start reading the writings of actual economists on this issue.
Immigration is a net drain on the economy; corporate interests reap the benefits of cheap labor, while taxpayers pay the infrastructural cost. FAIR research shows "the net annual cost of immigration has been estimated at between $67 and $87 billion a year. The National Academy of Sciences found that the net fiscal drain on American taxpayers is between $166 and $226 a year per native household.
Even studies claiming some modest overall gain for the economy from immigration ($1 to $10 billion a year) have found that it is outweighed by the fiscal cost ($15 to $20 billion a year) to native taxpayers."
Why are you stereotyping me now? Why would you think that I watch Big Time Wrestling? And for the folks who do watch it, why would that be bad?
So, Brendanjbehan... What do you glean about my posts that suggests to you that I watch "Wrestling?" and what are you saying about me with this statement.
Because you are prone to attack and your argument for "illegal immigration" dies with your slander.
In most countries (including Mexico!), a child can only receive citizenship to the country they are born in if at least one parent is a legal resident. But in the US, a baby will receive US Citizenship even if his/her parents were foreigners simply here on vacation! Thus, these "American" children of illegal immigrants are eligible for Medicaid, schooling, etc. that many REAL American children aren't eligible for. When they're 18, these children can sponsor their illegal parents for immigration.
I am a legal immigrant, and most legal immigrants will agree with you that illegal immigration is wrong and those perpetrating it should not be rewarded with a "legal path to residency." While I am liberal when it comes to the war in Iraq or birth control/abortion, I think most people who are liberal on the immigration issue have no idea of what illegals are doing to this country. The problem is they don't consider the burden that the illegals' children place on the system.
Because you "were" a legal immigrant, you are now simply "American." And by the way, thanks for the respect you showed your new country. This is what it means to be American.
We should not be afraid, we need to engage these people, for they are breaking the law. Where are the police enforcing no trespassing and no loitering laws. This video is hilarious in its onesidedness. Feel sorry for Jose or Manuel because he is here illegally. LOL
I feel so bad for this guy. Don't fear the police anymore. Teach them a lesson and go back to your home country. If you obey the law, you won't be scared.
okay, you found one a**hole on the anti-illegal side. Fine. But most anti-illegals like myself are decent hard-working people with viable concerns about illegal immigration. Most of us arent racist either.
Right, and I agree that not everyone on your side of this is racist, but it is certainly more than one. It is also important to note that this particular person is the primary leader of your side in Prince William County. He started Help Save Manassas. Along with going to church and maybe a Civil War reenactment or two, I guess this is what he does with the remainder of his off time.
Atrain said that most anti-illegals are decent hard-working people with viable concerns. I don't think he personally knows "most" anti-illegals and therefor I don't think he can speak on behalf of those people. Therefore I suggested that he speak on behalf of himself only.
No, I saw the video. If Greg did what was documented by the police, I think that he deserves incarceration much more than the Hispanic guy looking for a job. Greg is a racist joke who hides behind Scripture and somehow twists it to his ends. He is a weak little man who will one day wake up and find that his children are ashamed of him.
And you are sadly mistaken when you say illegals don't feel that we OWE them anything. Do you actually watch the news or any media outlets on this issue? Do you not see the may day marches DEMANDING "comprehensive immigration reform"? Do you not see the protests outside of Oregon DMV's for refusing to issue driver licenses to illegals. Illegals perform jobs at slave wages and are exploited and you defend those actions and believe illegals are thrusting our economy forward. They are NOT!
You claim to want something done about immigration, yet you belittle people who march and want comprehensive immigration reform. You want something done, and you curse those who try to get something done.
Who have I belittled? Comprehensive immigration reform is just code word for amnesty. You can have compassion for people all you want, which is fine, but America can not be the global dumping ground for citizens of other nations whenever their own economies are in peril. It would destroy this country. And illegals DO hurt the economy. On the working class, on healthcare, public safety and just as a society in general. The only thing we probably agree on is that we disagree...so be it.
Aren't other countries' economies in peril now because of the house lending practices of the US? I think so. Look it up! The US exploits everybody and that's part of the reason some countries are in garbage dumps financially.
The U.S. constitution does NOT provide for the assembling of illegal immigrants to protest U.S. government policy. It provides for U.S. CITIZENS to assemble for peaceful protest. By the way, I have seen some of the illegal protests and they were far from peaceful.
This is something that upsets me. When I decided to become a U.S. resident, and begin the pathway to citizenship, I decided America would be my home, for better or worse.
These people claim to want to be Americans, yet they fly foreign flags at their rallies. On forums, I see them with signatures that show their flag upright, and "Old Glory" upside down, which is an obvious sign of disrespect. Why should they be supported?
May be they feel angry about how they are treated unjustly here in America. I have a paper that says i am an American. However, I hold on to my native country's ( Eritrea) culture. I speak my language Tigrina as well as English. I can't and wont forget where I came from it's who i am.
"...more than the Hispanic guy looking for a job?" That means you think that the Hispanic guy looking for a job needs to be incarated as well.
Still, I'm not sure why you insist on calling them Hispanic. There's nothing wrong or bad about being Hispanic, but there is about being an illegal immigrant. So please respect Hispanics enough to focus on it being an "illegal Immigrant" issue. Hispanic does not mean "Illegal Immigrant."
Again, you use the term "threatened." There is no evidence of that at all. If he, in fact, called them "trash," which was NOT corroberated, then that is hateful, not threatening. Taking pictures and protesting the site is not threatening.
If he did call them "the trash of Manassas" after taking myriad pictures, which he did, and left, and then came back in camoflauge (as wimpy as that may be in his case), is that not threatening to people who do not know how bizarre and creepy effete Civil War-reenacting weirdos can be? Also, why did he run from his beloved law? I thought our laws were the laws of God.
This business tries to run off the 30-40 day laborers who regularly congregate there, but they just move next door to the property of a vacant business. The business owner is trying to keep the day laborers away, but isn't getting any support from the police. The day laborers at this site are aggressive, and have run off almost all of the regular patrons. Police officers have said that persons going to this location are in danger of being assaulted or killed.
I'm not either. The lies spread by people like this are just out of control
Here we a 7-11 where hundreds of people go every day. People who go there are in danger of being killed. Almost all of the regular patrons have been run off. Yet somehow the business continues.
No, I'm not laughing. It's not funny because lies like this are designed to encourage hatred towards these men who only wish to work.
If illegal immigration were so bad, then it wouldn't be necessary to lie about it.
That is a complete lie. I see these people every day. While it is not an optimal situation, many of the policies in the area have created these vacant lots. That said, there is no aggression. My guess is you do not live or work here but are simply one of Greg's minions.
I see. In your own words, the illegals hanging out around 7-11 is not an "optimal situation." Okay, what is and optimal situation then? How do we make that situation optimal?
I dittNt leevve. I simpally finded yur propensitty to coorolate intelleckt wit spellin/gremmar too funfully ludicriss to giv ur posts/postion any credit.
Illegal immigrants should be sent home and the offending country should be held accountable for the cost. People protesting ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION worksites are targeting ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, not hispanics. I will gladly protest illegal dayworker sites - even if they are all hispanic. It's not a race issue! IT'S NATIONAL SECURITY :)
I have no interest, let alone agenda, in seeing you distance yourself from Gospel Greg as all other legitimate players in Virginia politics have done. You can cozy up to his behind or not, it's your choice entirely Moberg. I won't even comment on whether you look good or bad in that position.
That's the whole problem with these lunatics taking the law into their own hands. They don't trust the Police, therefore they have to dress up like military men and harass people. And worse, they'll post as "MobergNixon" and say they trust the word of Gospel Greg over the Prince William County Police Department. Could your head be any deeper in the sand than it is? Why don't you just admit that life is complicated and Gospel Greg isn't ALWAYS right. He's out of line this time, Moberg.
You know what really gets me is that this asian chick can get on here and spew lies (lies provided by criminal aliens) and gets away with it. You should be ashamed of yourself, Asian Chick.
Poison, you should join the vigilante group "Help Save Manassas." They also doubt the word of an OFFICIAL POLICE REPORT. Did you bother to watch this video to the end? Another idiot clone. Are you all the same person, or do the keep making them that dumb?
Police made the report based on what the day worker said, not by being there and seeing it take place. So the police report is just hearsay. It is simply a record of the complaint. The fact that it is an "official" police report adds nothing to its validity. This video was poorly done and looked like someone was trying to make it look like a network news piece. The events CAN'T be corroberated by the police report. Greg had every right to protest their presence and to take pictures.
I Didn't say he was innocent. I didn't say that he conducts himself above reproach on this issue. I just don't see any indisputable evidence of the claims against him. The police report is not evidence, it's just a documented claim. If he called them names, then clearly he is wrong for doing that. No one should be called a demeaning or denigrating name - right? Anyway, I did not see proof of any name calling by Greg. Thus far it's just a claim. Maybe true, but we don't know.
Poison, you should join the vigilante group "Help Save Manassas." They also doubt the word of an OFFICIAL POLICE REPORT. Did you bother to watch this video to the end? Another idiot clone. Are you all the same person, or do they keep making them that dumb?
This poison guy makes the following assumptions based on nothing other than the man's appearance: he's Mexican, he's lying and he's a criminal alien.
Law enforcement needs guys like this who can tell so much about a person merely by their appearance. The only problem is that people with this supernatural ability never explain how they can tell so much just by someone's appearance. So Sad.
By doing that he's detouring the discussion away from the issues to addressing the messenger. It's ad hominem. It's pathetic. It says more about the accuser than it does about the accused.
You know a lot about logical fallicies. Didn't you commit this fallacy on another thread (e.g., chump)? Then wouldn't that also be "pathetic?" And maybe a touch of hypocritical? What does this say again about the accuser?
Not sure where my last post went, but I'll post it again:
RalphNelson, you did commit the fallacy of Ad Hominem yourself.
Chump, Sir Nosedvoidfunk, Twisted, Sick, Psycho, etc... You attack the person with name-calling as a result of his position. That becomes the fallacy of Ad Hominem.
Ad hominem consists of replying to an argument by attacking the person making the argument rather than by addressing the substance of the argument.
If all I had done were address the messenger, then, yes, that would have constituted an ad hominem argument. However, my comments were not solely directed to the messenger.
By contrast, your comments to me have addressed me and nothing but me. Not one sentenced addressed the content of my arguments.
The fallacy of your argument is that you leave the reader with the impression that the person's argument is not valid on the basis that he is Sick, Twisted, Sir NoseDvoid(hollier than thou?), or Phycho, etc... My only point to you is that you come across as a hypocrite to put others on notice for commiting fallacies when you do the same.
["Name Calling" is the attempt to distract the uninformed observer off the message by attacking the messenger (ad Hominem)]
You mention the "fallacy of my argument". You haven't addressed any of my arguments. All you've done is criticize me and the way the argument is presented. Not one of your comments to me have addressed the content of any of the arguments I've made even after intense prodding.
"By doing that he's detouring the discussion away from the issues to addressing the messenger. It's ad hominem. It's pathetic. It says more about the accuser than it does about the accused."
This is what I respond to. It is directed at a person, not his argument and he is called "pathetic" for it.
That's hypocrisy, because you commited the same thing. I AM addressing the MESSAGE in that post of yours and saying that your MESSAGE applies also to you!
For example, if someone actually is a racist, then that doesn't mean that their argument is false. Racists sometimes say things that are correct. So by calling someone a racist doesn't contribute to the discussion.
You've been here criticizing me. You've put forth a lot of effort. But to say that I'm a bad person doesn't render my comments void. See how it works?
I see RalphNelson... So you calling Greg Sir NoseDVoidofFunk does not destroy his message. Apply to all other names you have called people and that does not destroy their message. Yes, I see. So it must be some kind of fallacy to call them a name based on their message. Yep, I got it. Thank you.
By the way, I didn't call you a bad person. You called youself a bad person - on the hidden motice/deceit issue of withholding stronger language to be perceived better by "Legs."
I feel like I'm being stalked. I've always said that I wouldn't mind being stalked if it were an attractive woman. I agree that by calling someone a name I don't destroy their argument.
What you seem to be stumbling over is the fact that calling someone a name doesn't destroy MY argument either.
What a person actually is is irrelevant. It's when someone attempts to mitigate his message by CALLING him an name, e.g., racist, that an Ad Hominem exists. It says his message can't be valid, because he is a racist. That's not a logical conclusion and that's why it's a fallacy. I have not seen prrof that he is racist yet anyway. His beef is with illegal aliens and others claim he means Hispanics. Racisim is wrong and so is illegal immigration.
You say that you have not seen prrof [sic] that he is racist.
That's your stumbling block. Whether he is racist is irrelevant. If he's racist, then he could still be correct. If he's not a racist, then he could still be wrong. The fact that he's racist or not is of no importance. So what? BFD!
You should really move on. You've spent a lot of time considering whether someone is a hypocrite. So f'n what? If he calls someone "trash" and says that he loves them, so what?
RalphNelson, We are not on a parallel road here, so maybe we can agree that name-calling has no place if we want our point to be received.
Back to the video, I still don't see proof that Greg called those people "trash." If he did, then he would be a hypocrite. You can't say that "we love them" on YouTube and then call them trash when no one is around without being a hypocrite. But still it's hearsay on a Liberty video which has an agenda.
Look, no one here is impressed by your attempt to sound educated on this matter by your convoluted vocabulary words thrown into a sentence to try and look pretentious for the people reading these messages. The bottom line is Americans are sick and tired of the illegal immigration INVASION(yes in capital letters to "emphasize my point")and we want border security. I don't know where in the US you live but here in southern cali we are becoming a split society.
Forums lack the ability to express emotion/feeling. BIG LETTER usage is a means to provide that. It's a norm in the world of online communication. As a norm, it is accepted. No one said he is scared by the big words you use, just that they are convoluted and I'll add - often mis-used.
bman made points concerning illegal immigration and you chose to challenge his intelligence.
Why are you so passionate to let illegals stay in America? What is your status?
BIG LETTERS are for people who do not know how to express themselves without silly little antics. It is for children. It is akin to using crayons. Also, find me one misused word.
Incase you haven't noticed our economy isn't so great right now. So if illegals are our saviours to the economy...then what gives may I ask? You wouldn't tolerate someone invading your house and demanding to stay but you would tolerate an invasion to your country. You should be greatful we have a country and that you have the freedoms to sit at a computer and discuss this issue with me freely and without risk of persecution. Unlike some countries these illegals come from.Stand up for you country
Undocumented workers are not harming our economy, a disastrous health-care system, an illegal war perpetrated by a charlatan who gave foolish tax breaks, particularly to the rich, for cheap political gain and some bad luck are hurting our economy.
I am proud enough of our country to note when we are doing things wrong. My country is not as important as human beings.
I think your trouble is that you are generalizing that ALL illegal immigrants are good and helpful only because SOME are. They are still breaking our laws being here. Human beings are at risk in our own country by those who hide their identities. American will protect human beings (her own first) by enforcing a "legal immigration" process and removing offenders. Then we can better prepare for attack from without instead of repeat attacks from within.
I think that continually correcting people's grammer shows that you are compensating for some personal flaw of your own. I have seen more name-calling coming from the pro illegal-alien side, over three related threads. "Those who can't think, fight." I think entering into such a contest speaks greatly about what is important to you - how you are percieeived. You don't come across as intelligent by initiating this challenge. Our intelligences have nothing to do with the issue.
Actually, intelligence does have a great deal to do with this. Intelligent people do not spend their lives trying to ruin the lives of others or trying to pin the problems of a community onto an ethnic group because of the color of their skin, or their legal status. Intelligent people generally try to work through a situation that, while not ideal, has a much better solution than scapegoating a population.
You claim to be intellegent yet you said that "everyone on Greg's side of the illegal immigration issue is a racist." Who make generalized statements like that and expect people to think you are intellegent? I don't see intellegence in the way you debate. I see attacks and anger. You have lost credibility on this topic with your own words. Another mis-used term, "everyone." That is an absolute and is wrong.
Oops, I'm afraid I did you wrong on this one. I thought I saw you calling everyone on the anti-illegal immigration side a racist. Somehow I read over "not everyone..."
Brendanjbehan, It is truely annoying for you to continue calling people racist. I do not approve of illegal immigration and they should be sent home (with love)
It is "truely" annoying that you cannot spell the word "truly." And you ask my status? Learn to write. The "sent home with love" is the most sickening, Christian right, lunatic nonsense I have heard in a long time. It is Fal-wellian (Jerry-the-dirt-bag-Falwell). It is completely against the teachings of Christ. A monkey could see that.
There's a difference between how a monkey interprets Christ's teachings and how a Christian does. I have not seen anything of substance from you outside of spelling corrections in an informal setting. Also, being a self-proclaimed atheist does not add anything to your ability to understand Christ's teachings. Your argument should be with God, not Greg. Greg simply read God's word from the Bible.
Anyway, God made us all, of all color and equal. So, the protest is over lawbreakers, not race!
It sounds to me that Poison thinks they are lying. It's an opinion. Is there something wrong with being Mexican? If not, then is there something wrong with being called Mexican? It's not racism unless the Mexican is offended by being called Mexican.
Interesting that you suspect Poison to be Greg. I detect much similarity in two names with whom I communicate on this issue. Each time you discuss a point with me, your thumbs down is negated. You cannot change your own. Coincidence?
Well I don't support this guy harrassing them like that. That is horrible. And there is nothing wrong with coming to the United States to want to help make a better life for yourself and family, but it needs to be legally. Illegals are not OWED a better life by the United States simply because they are sick of their home countries. For example how long have they been living in the united states and this whole video is being spoken in spanish. Why?
Like almost all new immigrants in our country's history who were not from an English speaking country, many Hispanics are not fluent in English when they come here. This is just like the Germans, French, Dutch, Poles, etc. However, just like the Euro groups I mentioned, their children are almost always fluent in English by the time they reach school. Any linguist will tell you that the pattern is almost exactly the same, faster for Hispanics in most cases. How many languages do you speak?
First off we are not talking about NEW IMMIGRANTS. We are talking about ILLEGAL ALIENS. Those are to completely DIFFERENT things. And my point is that when you come to the United States as a LEGAL IMMIGRANT apart of residing here is assimilating certain aspects of our society. And part of that assimilation includes english. ILLEGALS don't assimilate english. It has become an incumbency upon us as citizens to have to learn spanish. It is irrelevant how many languages I know because this is USA.
First, why do you capitalize to emphasize a point? That is what children do. Secondly, no one "assimilate(s)" English. That is just bad usage of the language you ostensibly love so well. Finally, the majority of Euros who came here in the 1800s and 1900s were illegal. That's when my people came here. How about yours? Your "incumbency" is poorly used as well and extremely untrue. No one expects you to learn Spanish; you still need to work on your English.
Yes, Brendanjbehan seems to focus on grammer a lot in this informal setting. He deviates from the topic to attack people for their use of English, yet he is unaware of all his own errors that WE read over and write off as acceptable "informal" communication. Anyway, I for one think you made a GREAT point. Also, I lived in Trukey, Germany and Holland and I carried my translation book with me so that I could speak in their language. I received much respect.
Where is "Trukey"? And I'll bet you did not do as well with your little book as the Hispanics do here learning a great deal of English in a little bit of time. You wildly overestimate yourself.
LOL. You kill me... Trukey is the typo way to spell Turkey. Not many are as fluent in typo as I am. :) And Yes, many illegal immigrants do learn english, and many do not. It's the respect issue in focus here. It is respectful to learn your host country's language. America's is English! Even Obama says that the pathway to becoming a citizen includes "getting to the back of the line and learning English."
Entering and living in this country, in the minds of illegals, has become a right not a privledge. We OWE them driver licenses, we OWE them healthcare, we OWE them education, we OWE them immediate amnesty to be citizens and they should be exempt from deportation because we are rascists "destroying families". I love immigration and love the fact we are a free country but honestly I DON'T care about the so called "RIGHTS" of illegals. YOU'RE ILLEGAL. If you don't like it go back home.
Again, no one on the Hispanic side thinks that we "OWE" (so childish by the way) them anything. If you look at any serious economist's work, you will see that Hispanic immigration is a net gain for the economy. A better system is necessary, but the concept of attempting to capture and deport the undocumented is unrealistic, fiscally disastrous, and morally reprehensible.
Why do you say the "Hispanic" side, instead of "Illegal alien" side? You are applying race to the "Illegal alien" issue here. bman used the term "illegal" which does not imply any race, but rather one's citizenship status. Just an observation. BrendenjBehan, are you Hispanic? Are you an illegal alien?
Let me ask you a question. Why did Greg, a person you defend, seek out a group of clearly Hispanic men standing at a 7-11 to harass? That's why I say Hispanic.
I think the gentleman in the video sums it up nicely: "We came here just to work and support our families." That statement applies to the vast majority of immigrants both legal and illegal.
What's so horrible about that?
And bravo to 9500 Liberty. After 9 months of talking about people, they finally have an interview with someone who is affected by the resolution.
When they're 18, these children can sponsor their illegal parents for immigration.
ibnuts 3 years ago
I am a legal immigrant, and most legal immigrants will agree with you that illegal immigration is wrong and those perpetrating it should not be rewarded with a "legal path to residency." While I am liberal when it comes to the war in Iraq or birth control/abortion, I think most people who are liberal on the immigration issue have no idea of what illegals are doing to this country. The problem is they don't consider the burden that the illegals' children place on the system.
ibnuts 3 years ago
Because you "were" a legal immigrant, you are now simply "American." And by the way, thanks for the respect you showed your new country. This is what it means to be American.

We should not be afraid, we need to engage these people, for they are breaking the law. Where are the police enforcing no trespassing and no loitering laws. This video is hilarious in its onesidedness. Feel sorry for Jose or Manuel because he is here illegally. LOL

I found this on the Bruce Li site. I wonder if this is the Greg L. who harrassed the people here. Well, I am sure it is.
Greg L said on 14 Oct 2007 at 2:20 am:
I personally feel it's a bad idea. Engaging individuals like this is not productive.

I feel so bad for this guy. Don't fear the police anymore. Teach them a lesson and go back to your home country. If you obey the law, you won't be scared.

No, stupid comment. When the first Germans came here, which language do you think they spoke? It was not English, genius.
Read something.
BRENDANJBEHAN 3 years ago
Nice one, Greg. What a winner you are. Are your children proud?
BRENDANJBEHAN 3 years ago
okay, you found one a**hole on the anti-illegal side. Fine. But most anti-illegals like myself are decent hard-working people with viable concerns about illegal immigration. Most of us arent racist either.
Atrain757 3 years ago
Right, and I agree that not everyone on your side of this is racist, but it is certainly more than one. It is also important to note that this particular person is the primary leader of your side in Prince William County. He started Help Save Manassas. Along with going to church and maybe a Civil War reenactment or two, I guess this is what he does with the remainder of his off time.

What does that mean, "kothabyu"?
BRENDANJBEHAN 3 years ago
It's a name. Like "Jimmy".

No, I don't give a damn what your name means. I am referring to your comment: "Speak for yourself."
BRENDANJBEHAN 3 years ago
Atrain said that most anti-illegals are decent hard-working people with viable concerns. I don't think he personally knows "most" anti-illegals and therefor I don't think he can speak on behalf of those people. Therefore I suggested that he speak on behalf of himself only.
kothabyu 3 years ago
Police WERE called to this location, by HSM. The only arrest made was of a "day laborer" who had urinated on the building. Classy.
PoisonPosy 3 years ago
The person who should be incarcerated is Greg for threatening innocent people.
BRENDANJBEHAN 3 years ago
What an imagination you have.
kothabyu 3 years ago 2
No, I saw the video. If Greg did what was documented by the police, I think that he deserves incarceration much more than the Hispanic guy looking for a job. Greg is a racist joke who hides behind Scripture and somehow twists it to his ends. He is a weak little man who will one day wake up and find that his children are ashamed of him.
BRENDANJBEHAN 3 years ago
And you are sadly mistaken when you say illegals don't feel that we OWE them anything. Do you actually watch the news or any media outlets on this issue? Do you not see the may day marches DEMANDING "comprehensive immigration reform"? Do you not see the protests outside of Oregon DMV's for refusing to issue driver licenses to illegals. Illegals perform jobs at slave wages and are exploited and you defend those actions and believe illegals are thrusting our economy forward. They are NOT!
bman2665 3 years ago
You claim to want something done about immigration, yet you belittle people who march and want comprehensive immigration reform. You want something done, and you curse those who try to get something done.
BRENDANJBEHAN 3 years ago
Who have I belittled? Comprehensive immigration reform is just code word for amnesty. You can have compassion for people all you want, which is fine, but America can not be the global dumping ground for citizens of other nations whenever their own economies are in peril. It would destroy this country. And illegals DO hurt the economy. On the working class, on healthcare, public safety and just as a society in general. The only thing we probably agree on is that we disagree...so be it.
bman2665 3 years ago

"...more than the Hispanic guy looking for a job?" That means you think that the Hispanic guy looking for a job needs to be incarated as well.
Still, I'm not sure why you insist on calling them Hispanic. There's nothing wrong or bad about being Hispanic, but there is about being an illegal immigrant. So please respect Hispanics enough to focus on it being an "illegal Immigrant" issue. Hispanic does not mean "Illegal Immigrant."
vstardean 3 years ago
Again, you use the term "threatened." There is no evidence of that at all. If he, in fact, called them "trash," which was NOT corroberated, then that is hateful, not threatening. Taking pictures and protesting the site is not threatening.
vstardean 3 years ago

PoisonPosy 3 years ago
I'm not either. The lies spread by people like this are just out of control
Here we a 7-11 where hundreds of people go every day. People who go there are in danger of being killed. Almost all of the regular patrons have been run off. Yet somehow the business continues.
No, I'm not laughing. It's not funny because lies like this are designed to encourage hatred towards these men who only wish to work.
If illegal immigration were so bad, then it wouldn't be necessary to lie about it.
RalphNelson 3 years ago 3
That is a complete lie. I see these people every day. While it is not an optimal situation, many of the policies in the area have created these vacant lots. That said, there is no aggression. My guess is you do not live or work here but are simply one of Greg's minions.
BRENDANJBEHAN 3 years ago
I see. In your own words, the illegals hanging out around 7-11 is not an "optimal situation." Okay, what is and optimal situation then? How do we make that situation optimal?

I have no interest, let alone agenda, in seeing you distance yourself from Gospel Greg as all other legitimate players in Virginia politics have done. You can cozy up to his behind or not, it's your choice entirely Moberg. I won't even comment on whether you look good or bad in that position.
auntieM16 3 years ago
That's the whole problem with these lunatics taking the law into their own hands. They don't trust the Police, therefore they have to dress up like military men and harass people. And worse, they'll post as "MobergNixon" and say they trust the word of Gospel Greg over the Prince William County Police Department. Could your head be any deeper in the sand than it is? Why don't you just admit that life is complicated and Gospel Greg isn't ALWAYS right. He's out of line this time, Moberg.

Poison, you should join the vigilante group "Help Save Manassas." They also doubt the word of an OFFICIAL POLICE REPORT. Did you bother to watch this video to the end? Another idiot clone. Are you all the same person, or do the keep making them that dumb?
auntieM16 3 years ago
Police made the report based on what the day worker said, not by being there and seeing it take place. So the police report is just hearsay. It is simply a record of the complaint. The fact that it is an "official" police report adds nothing to its validity. This video was poorly done and looked like someone was trying to make it look like a network news piece. The events CAN'T be corroberated by the police report. Greg had every right to protest their presence and to take pictures.
vstardean 3 years ago
You have to be kidding. Greg is innocent on this according to you?
BRENDANJBEHAN 3 years ago
I Didn't say he was innocent. I didn't say that he conducts himself above reproach on this issue. I just don't see any indisputable evidence of the claims against him. The police report is not evidence, it's just a documented claim. If he called them names, then clearly he is wrong for doing that. No one should be called a demeaning or denigrating name - right? Anyway, I did not see proof of any name calling by Greg. Thus far it's just a claim. Maybe true, but we don't know.
vstardean 3 years ago

This poison guy makes the following assumptions based on nothing other than the man's appearance: he's Mexican, he's lying and he's a criminal alien.
Law enforcement needs guys like this who can tell so much about a person merely by their appearance. The only problem is that people with this supernatural ability never explain how they can tell so much just by someone's appearance. So Sad.

Nice subtle racism, Poison, are you Greg or just one of his thoughtless minions?
BRENDANJBEHAN 3 years ago
Does anyone else get annoyed that low-foreheaded knuckle-draggers are always accusing people of being racist?
kothabyu 3 years ago 2
By doing that he's detouring the discussion away from the issues to addressing the messenger. It's ad hominem. It's pathetic. It says more about the accuser than it does about the accused.
RalphNelson 3 years ago
You know a lot about logical fallicies. Didn't you commit this fallacy on another thread (e.g., chump)? Then wouldn't that also be "pathetic?" And maybe a touch of hypocritical? What does this say again about the accuser?
vstardean 3 years ago
How ignorant. The word "chump" was one word in a multiple sentence argument. The rest of my argument addressed the topic.
So no. I didn't commit this fallacy.
RalphNelson 3 years ago
Not sure where my last post went, but I'll post it again:
RalphNelson, you did commit the fallacy of Ad Hominem yourself.
Chump, Sir Nosedvoidfunk, Twisted, Sick, Psycho, etc... You attack the person with name-calling as a result of his position. That becomes the fallacy of Ad Hominem.
vstardean 3 years ago
Ad hominem consists of replying to an argument by attacking the person making the argument rather than by addressing the substance of the argument.
If all I had done were address the messenger, then, yes, that would have constituted an ad hominem argument. However, my comments were not solely directed to the messenger.
By contrast, your comments to me have addressed me and nothing but me. Not one sentenced addressed the content of my arguments.
RalphNelson 3 years ago
The fallacy of your argument is that you leave the reader with the impression that the person's argument is not valid on the basis that he is Sick, Twisted, Sir NoseDvoid(hollier than thou?), or Phycho, etc... My only point to you is that you come across as a hypocrite to put others on notice for commiting fallacies when you do the same.
["Name Calling" is the attempt to distract the uninformed observer off the message by attacking the messenger (ad Hominem)]
vstardean 3 years ago
Excellent example.
You mention the "fallacy of my argument". You haven't addressed any of my arguments. All you've done is criticize me and the way the argument is presented. Not one of your comments to me have addressed the content of any of the arguments I've made even after intense prodding.
RalphNelson 3 years ago
"By doing that he's detouring the discussion away from the issues to addressing the messenger. It's ad hominem. It's pathetic. It says more about the accuser than it does about the accused."
This is what I respond to. It is directed at a person, not his argument and he is called "pathetic" for it.
That's hypocrisy, because you commited the same thing. I AM addressing the MESSAGE in that post of yours and saying that your MESSAGE applies also to you!
vstardean 3 years ago
This comment doesn't address the person at all. It's a commentary about ad hominem arguments in general.
Ad hominem arguments, like calling someone a racist for example, are pathetic, and they do say more about the accuser than the accused.
RalphNelson 3 years ago
For example, if someone actually is a racist, then that doesn't mean that their argument is false. Racists sometimes say things that are correct. So by calling someone a racist doesn't contribute to the discussion.
You've been here criticizing me. You've put forth a lot of effort. But to say that I'm a bad person doesn't render my comments void. See how it works?
RalphNelson 3 years ago
I see RalphNelson... So you calling Greg Sir NoseDVoidofFunk does not destroy his message. Apply to all other names you have called people and that does not destroy their message. Yes, I see. So it must be some kind of fallacy to call them a name based on their message. Yep, I got it. Thank you.
By the way, I didn't call you a bad person. You called youself a bad person - on the hidden motice/deceit issue of withholding stronger language to be perceived better by "Legs."
vstardean 3 years ago
I feel like I'm being stalked. I've always said that I wouldn't mind being stalked if it were an attractive woman. I agree that by calling someone a name I don't destroy their argument.
What you seem to be stumbling over is the fact that calling someone a name doesn't destroy MY argument either.
RalphNelson 3 years ago
What a person actually is is irrelevant. It's when someone attempts to mitigate his message by CALLING him an name, e.g., racist, that an Ad Hominem exists. It says his message can't be valid, because he is a racist. That's not a logical conclusion and that's why it's a fallacy. I have not seen prrof that he is racist yet anyway. His beef is with illegal aliens and others claim he means Hispanics. Racisim is wrong and so is illegal immigration.
vstardean 3 years ago
You say that you have not seen prrof [sic] that he is racist.
That's your stumbling block. Whether he is racist is irrelevant. If he's racist, then he could still be correct. If he's not a racist, then he could still be wrong. The fact that he's racist or not is of no importance. So what? BFD!
You should really move on. You've spent a lot of time considering whether someone is a hypocrite. So f'n what? If he calls someone "trash" and says that he loves them, so what?
RalphNelson 3 years ago
RalphNelson, We are not on a parallel road here, so maybe we can agree that name-calling has no place if we want our point to be received.
Back to the video, I still don't see proof that Greg called those people "trash." If he did, then he would be a hypocrite. You can't say that "we love them" on YouTube and then call them trash when no one is around without being a hypocrite. But still it's hearsay on a Liberty video which has an agenda.
Let's just go forward.

BRENDANJBEHAN 3 years ago
Look, no one here is impressed by your attempt to sound educated on this matter by your convoluted vocabulary words thrown into a sentence to try and look pretentious for the people reading these messages. The bottom line is Americans are sick and tired of the illegal immigration INVASION(yes in capital letters to "emphasize my point")and we want border security. I don't know where in the US you live but here in southern cali we are becoming a split society.

Big words scare you, and BIG LETTERS scare me. I guess we won't be going for tea.
BRENDANJBEHAN 3 years ago
Forums lack the ability to express emotion/feeling. BIG LETTER usage is a means to provide that. It's a norm in the world of online communication. As a norm, it is accepted. No one said he is scared by the big words you use, just that they are convoluted and I'll add - often mis-used.
bman made points concerning illegal immigration and you chose to challenge his intelligence.
Why are you so passionate to let illegals stay in America? What is your status?
vstardean 3 years ago
BIG LETTERS are for people who do not know how to express themselves without silly little antics. It is for children. It is akin to using crayons. Also, find me one misused word.
BRENDANJBEHAN 3 years ago
Incase you haven't noticed our economy isn't so great right now. So if illegals are our saviours to the economy...then what gives may I ask? You wouldn't tolerate someone invading your house and demanding to stay but you would tolerate an invasion to your country. You should be greatful we have a country and that you have the freedoms to sit at a computer and discuss this issue with me freely and without risk of persecution. Unlike some countries these illegals come from.Stand up for you country
bman2665 3 years ago
Undocumented workers are not harming our economy, a disastrous health-care system, an illegal war perpetrated by a charlatan who gave foolish tax breaks, particularly to the rich, for cheap political gain and some bad luck are hurting our economy.
I am proud enough of our country to note when we are doing things wrong. My country is not as important as human beings.
BRENDANJBEHAN 3 years ago
I think your trouble is that you are generalizing that ALL illegal immigrants are good and helpful only because SOME are. They are still breaking our laws being here. Human beings are at risk in our own country by those who hide their identities. American will protect human beings (her own first) by enforcing a "legal immigration" process and removing offenders. Then we can better prepare for attack from without instead of repeat attacks from within.
vstardean 3 years ago
I think that continually correcting people's grammer shows that you are compensating for some personal flaw of your own. I have seen more name-calling coming from the pro illegal-alien side, over three related threads. "Those who can't think, fight." I think entering into such a contest speaks greatly about what is important to you - how you are percieeived. You don't come across as intelligent by initiating this challenge. Our intelligences have nothing to do with the issue.
vstardean 3 years ago
Actually, intelligence does have a great deal to do with this. Intelligent people do not spend their lives trying to ruin the lives of others or trying to pin the problems of a community onto an ethnic group because of the color of their skin, or their legal status. Intelligent people generally try to work through a situation that, while not ideal, has a much better solution than scapegoating a population.
BRENDANJBEHAN 3 years ago
You claim to be intellegent yet you said that "everyone on Greg's side of the illegal immigration issue is a racist." Who make generalized statements like that and expect people to think you are intellegent? I don't see intellegence in the way you debate. I see attacks and anger. You have lost credibility on this topic with your own words. Another mis-used term, "everyone." That is an absolute and is wrong.
vstardean 3 years ago
Oops, I'm afraid I did you wrong on this one. I thought I saw you calling everyone on the anti-illegal immigration side a racist. Somehow I read over "not everyone..."
My fault... Sorry.

BRENDANJBEHAN 3 years ago

BRENDANJBEHAN 3 years ago
Brendanjbehan, It is truely annoying for you to continue calling people racist. I do not approve of illegal immigration and they should be sent home (with love)
Now, by what I have said, am I a racist?
vstardean 3 years ago
It is "truely" annoying that you cannot spell the word "truly." And you ask my status? Learn to write. The "sent home with love" is the most sickening, Christian right, lunatic nonsense I have heard in a long time. It is Fal-wellian (Jerry-the-dirt-bag-Falwell). It is completely against the teachings of Christ. A monkey could see that.
BRENDANJBEHAN 3 years ago
There's a difference between how a monkey interprets Christ's teachings and how a Christian does. I have not seen anything of substance from you outside of spelling corrections in an informal setting. Also, being a self-proclaimed atheist does not add anything to your ability to understand Christ's teachings. Your argument should be with God, not Greg. Greg simply read God's word from the Bible.
Anyway, God made us all, of all color and equal. So, the protest is over lawbreakers, not race!
vstardean 3 years ago

Interesting that you suspect Poison to be Greg. I detect much similarity in two names with whom I communicate on this issue. Each time you discuss a point with me, your thumbs down is negated. You cannot change your own. Coincidence?

For example how long have they been living in the united states and this whole video is being spoken in spanish. Why?
bman2665 3 years ago
Very fair and balanced observation. Of course one of these idiot pro-illegals will scream racism.
BTW, i think 9500Liberty and Letiecq have one thing in common. Both are idiots.
Atrain757 3 years ago
Like almost all new immigrants in our country's history who were not from an English speaking country, many Hispanics are not fluent in English when they come here. This is just like the Germans, French, Dutch, Poles, etc. However, just like the Euro groups I mentioned, their children are almost always fluent in English by the time they reach school. Any linguist will tell you that the pattern is almost exactly the same, faster for Hispanics in most cases. How many languages do you speak?
BRENDANJBEHAN 3 years ago
First off we are not talking about NEW IMMIGRANTS. We are talking about ILLEGAL ALIENS. Those are to completely DIFFERENT things. And my point is that when you come to the United States as a LEGAL IMMIGRANT apart of residing here is assimilating certain aspects of our society. And part of that assimilation includes english. ILLEGALS don't assimilate english. It has become an incumbency upon us as citizens to have to learn spanish. It is irrelevant how many languages I know because this is USA.
bman2665 3 years ago
bman,
First, why do you capitalize to emphasize a point? That is what children do. Secondly, no one "assimilate(s)" English. That is just bad usage of the language you ostensibly love so well. Finally, the majority of Euros who came here in the 1800s and 1900s were illegal. That's when my people came here. How about yours? Your "incumbency" is poorly used as well and extremely untrue. No one expects you to learn Spanish; you still need to work on your English.
BRENDANJBEHAN 3 years ago
Yes, Brendanjbehan seems to focus on grammer a lot in this informal setting. He deviates from the topic to attack people for their use of English, yet he is unaware of all his own errors that WE read over and write off as acceptable "informal" communication. Anyway, I for one think you made a GREAT point. Also, I lived in Trukey, Germany and Holland and I carried my translation book with me so that I could speak in their language. I received much respect.
vstardean 3 years ago
Where is "Trukey"? And I'll bet you did not do as well with your little book as the Hispanics do here learning a great deal of English in a little bit of time. You wildly overestimate yourself.
BRENDANJBEHAN 3 years ago
By the way - Merry Christmas to you!
vstardean 3 years ago
Entering and living in this country, in the minds of illegals, has become a right not a privledge. We OWE them driver licenses, we OWE them healthcare, we OWE them education, we OWE them immediate amnesty to be citizens and they should be exempt from deportation because we are rascists "destroying families". I love immigration and love the fact we are a free country but honestly I DON'T care about the so called "RIGHTS" of illegals. YOU'RE ILLEGAL. If you don't like it go back home.
bman2665 3 years ago
Again, no one on the Hispanic side thinks that we "OWE" (so childish by the way) them anything. If you look at any serious economist's work, you will see that Hispanic immigration is a net gain for the economy. A better system is necessary, but the concept of attempting to capture and deport the undocumented is unrealistic, fiscally disastrous, and morally reprehensible.
BRENDANJBEHAN 3 years ago
Why do you say the "Hispanic" side, instead of "Illegal alien" side? You are applying race to the "Illegal alien" issue here. bman used the term "illegal" which does not imply any race, but rather one's citizenship status. Just an observation. BrendenjBehan, are you Hispanic? Are you an illegal alien?
vstardean 3 years ago
Let me ask you a question. Why did Greg, a person you defend, seek out a group of clearly Hispanic men standing at a 7-11 to harass? That's why I say Hispanic.
BRENDANJBEHAN 3 years ago
This creep is getting creepier and creepier. Why can't Corey Stewart stand up to Gospel Greg like he "stood up" to Bob Wills?
auntieM16 3 years ago 3
I think the gentleman in the video sums it up nicely: "We came here just to work and support our families." That statement applies to the vast majority of immigrants both legal and illegal.
What's so horrible about that?
And bravo to 9500 Liberty. After 9 months of talking about people, they finally have an interview with someone who is affected by the resolution.
