  • I like the adaptation of the thing Lol...

  • 1st a body comes out of his tummy. then let his head fall of and let his monster head get away. clever

  • Necromorphs...of dead space

  • This movie is so disturbing and a great movie at the same time and y chest feels weird right know

  • 2:02 "What the Fu........???"

  • the is madly disturbing

  • The spider thing is so CUTE!!

  • @F1brawfa if you find this cute, dont take this the wrong way, but you have someting wrong with you

  • @F1brawfa I like you, im subscribing to your channel : )

  • yeah lets try to pull your hands out and not wait for it to open its mouth again.

  • where does it get the biomass to do that

  • @theprogramer48 Perhaps some sort of rapid cell mitosis to reproduce it's cells. Kind of like a healing factor only to be used to build newer flesh and bone.

  • To explain how it took him over from inside put simply, cell by cell, and the head probably was the real norris assuming brain was still active but was under the creatures will. Frank Sinatra nails it on the head

  • this is nice, a piece of art!

  • I find this difficult to masterbate to.

  • god, the effects in this are f**king brilliant

  • niiiiccce.

  • If anyone was missing my chest with a defibrillator this bad, I definitively would have bit him with my belly to. I consider myself a great fan, but I seriously dont understand why so many thinks this effects are so much better than CGI. Maybe im to young to understand(over 30..) This movie scared me when I was a kid and the fx was cool back then. 5 years later I just laught at it. If this fx was to be used in the prequel, that movie would have flopped bigtime, and not only for "82-fans".

  • @Fettsomf it's better because it's really there.

  • @Fettsomf The prequel failed in the most important area: story. If you are watching any film and thinking about the effects, the story hasn't worked on you. If you saw Carpenter's film in a cinema, you would revere it far more highly. Much of Carpenter's focus was on the reactions of adult male characters with the effects kept out of the depth of field in the foreground. Watch the dog scene and realise how much he has utilised the imagination of the audience. It's classier and works better.

  • que orrendo wey

  • 20secs

Thats what you get for eating spaghetti, Norris.

    2mins 10secs

    "You gotta be f%cking kidding."

"Is that the thing from Doom 3?"

"OK who left the Xbox on?"

  • poor norris. he's lost his head.

  • Hit 1 for chewing :)

  • could you imagine how shitty this would look with cgi :P

  • whoever invented cgi saving the movie makers few thousand dollars here and there i wish i could unload an ak in there face with a 100 round clip....i misss nice graphics that made u get into the movie

  • When me and my m8s first saw the Thing (20 years ago) we have ever since always `flamethrowered` anything that seemed a bit weird or dodgy!

Lol, if we could we`d probabaly have a personal flamethrower around with us everywhere we go.

  • I have heard this sound in some cartoons! xD 00:10

  • I have heard this sound in some cartoons! xD 00:12

  • one of the best scenes ever ive seen in a movie, everything that went into the process of creating this special effect was light years ahead of its time.... besides burning down the room and the poisonous concoction of fumes...a real big credit to the creators!!! Original animatronics ands special fx...

  • yup, good scene

  • what the actual fuck...

  • chuck norris could multiply like that even if he wasn't the Thing

  • "CHARLIE BIT ME!"

  • i guess this film is where the "kill it with fire" come from?

  • "zombie apocalypse" - "thing apocalypse"?

    wich one ?

  • id scream too if i found out i bleed strawberry jelly.

  • 0:08 - 0:18

    Damn, that medic sucks.

  • Amazing!

  • THANKS A LOT NOW IM GONNA HAVE NIGHTMARES NOW!!!

  • PURGE WITH CLEANSING FIRE!!!

  • In soviet russia, Norris transforms the Thing.

  • the thing cant transform chuck norris, chuck norris transform the thing^^

  • 0:17 R.J.'s expression is like.. "whoa... well that's not normal."

  • ok that thing shows 2 heads one that shoots up in the ceiling and a second one which dettaches itsel, grows legs and makes a run for it.Which does the second head resemple?Did it assimilate another one before it assimilated the guy who had the heart attack?

  • @MyLongestJourney Nah I think it's about the fact it replicates, remember the body with 2 sets of organs? In this case the head on the body was the real head but infected from inside and already dead so completely "thinged" :D the head that sprouted was the copied head of the same guy, just imitated and incomplete. That's why they have the same hair.

  • @TheLydianRocks Although this could be a plot hole seeing as according to some on here the script suggests he was completely thing, i haven't read the script but i guess they have so hmmm maybe just a mistake.

  • @TheLydianRocks

    oh I see.Thank you.

  • @MyLongestJourney

Ok here`s what was happening with Norris. The Thing had infected him and it was growing inside him, MAKING a copy of him. The head that comes out is part of the copy not yet done. the head that falls off is the REAL GUY, but screwed about by the Thing as it feels the heat. It uses his head to ESCAPE by falling to the floor. What you have there is part Human, part Thing, but the Thing is in control and at this point Norris is dead.

    Creepy, eh.

  • @Tarenaccount He had bad heart? I don't remember that... which scene in the movie mentions that? And also, why would the Thing have a heart attack? The creature controls every cell in its body (unless a part of it splits off from the rest of the body), so why would allow itself to have a heart attack in front of everyone?

  • Not to mention the thing has no need for internal organs, human internal organs are just a waste in the things body, if the heart stops the thing is still alive (because it controls every living cell in the body, including this scene when the rest of the body dies the head escapes so a heart attack is highly unlikely, at first I thought he hit his head on the shelf when trying to tackle mcreedy.) its very weird considering almost the entire movie Norris is a thing.

  • Whatever "Thing" also can...that is call "The Thing"

  • @Tarenaccount At that point when Fuchs warns that everyone should make their own meals, it might have been too late. The Thing could have easily left a cell in Norris' meals at anytime. Or the dog-thing from the beginning could have licked his lips when it went to his room. Once the particle was inside him, it slowly started replicating him from the inside, and thus would explain why Norris was feeling pain & suddenly died, cause at that point, the Thing had completely taken him over.

  • @Tarenaccount Depends on when you think Norris was COMPLETELY imitated. Let me elaborate: in the movie, it is stated that the Thing has two ways of ''attacking'' people.

    1. Force itself onto its prey and absorb them. This is what happened with the dogs.

    2. Leave a particle (a cell) inside their victim and let it slowly replicate it from the inside. This is what it tried to do to Windows and possibly Norris (the latter in a more discreet manner).

  • The husky thing got Norris, near the beginning of the movie it goes into a room with only a shadow of a person, at first I thought it was Clarks shadow but now it looks a lot more like Norris' shadow.

  • .....Its ok i wasnt planning on sleeping tonight anyways....

  • Whooaaa mah god xDD

  • The one who pointed him out was a Thing....

  • Unforgettable movie with terrific visual effects

  • is it wrong to say that 1:54 to 2:02 is kinda cute.

  • dat nasty

  • I'm not going to type it- but i agree with the last spoken line in this video !

  • dicks on the ears!! fucking nice.

  • string tongue! activate!

  • n0 ma esta cabr0na

  • KILL IT! KILL IT WITH FIRE!

  • blood???

  • I saw this movie in the theater when it came out. It still gives me nightmares.

  • That's some seriously f*ed up s**t.

  • 0:23 ashton kutcher? :D

  • Anyone notice how his tongue lashed on to a swivel chair, but it stays in its place? You can see that at 1:05. Great movie, though!

  • "You've got to be FUCKING kidding" As scary as the thing is, I still laughe my ass off when the head spider tired to creep past them and that one guy says that line.

  • DIE MO FO! DIEEEEEEEE

  • Ok it's been a while since i've seen The Thing so can someone explain how the thing got inside whatshisname?

  • What happened to the handless guy?

  • @Sleexb he bled out on the floor

  • doom 3 stole those skullspiders

  • thank god it's this Norris not Chuck Norris!

  • @skeaneable Chuck Norris cannot be infected by the Thing. He INFECTS the Thing

  • @skeaneable Little did people knew that the thing actually got him once, the thing actually is Chuck Norris's flu

  • @skeaneable the thing would be infected by chuck norris

  • @Galuda1o1 Chuck Norris would have absorbed the thing and imitated it.

  • @skeaneable The thing would have broke its fucking teeth if it was chuck norris.

  • It's pronounced " Fu-kes" and not "Fu-cks" or "Fu-tch-es", right?

  • Sk8girl shut to dumbass up this was made in the fuckin 80s and is one of the grossiest and scariest psychological thrillers/horror films of all time you my friend believe in that pussy CGI shit. And where is the baby who wouldn't be scares of this. Yea bullshit

  • Fake.

    Chuck Norris can't be transformed.

  • So fake. XD

  • @MattakuNoKoohai better then cgi and any other movie affects

  • @XShadicTheHedgehogX The stomach biting the guy's arms off? That's better than the CGI in Avatar?

    I mean, seriously now.

  • 1:42

    It's a headcrab! :D

  • are these movies meant to be scary?

  • @snakeize112 back then these were top of the line special effects

  • @snakeize112 they are more just disgusting than scary in my opinion

  • @GODOFGUITAR2112 but they still scared you right I'll be onest I craped my pants the first time a saw this.... well not literally

  • This better than Resident evil movie.

  • WORD OF WARNING: Don't eat and watch this part at the same time, don't ask me how I know this

  • i like the benning part better

  • Why does it turn into a crab? To move around or regenerate health :<

  • @Lomabine527 It turned into a crab to escape because it knew going up against Kurt Russell who is armed with a flame-thrower would be suicide.

  • okay the thing bit and held on to the guy's arms but he literaly ripped them off himself...

  • @captaintaco123 Oh im sorry, maybe you would prefer to just stand there and stay in close proximity to the creature that's currently making you feel enormous pain. Any animal in the world would instinctively prefer to run away and leave their limbs behind than to get eaten.

  • @elvampe13

But I don't believe someone has enough strenght to rip off his own arms.

  • @VNdoug You'd be surprised at how survival instincts pushes a life-form's body beyond its normal capabilities when its life is in danger. In this scene however, it would be logical to think that the stomach bit down hard enough to weaken tissue, making it easier to rip off.

  • @captaintaco123 Thats never happened to you? Dont get your hand stuck in the car door, man. If you do, just stay still.

  • @captaintaco123 but sometimes, i always wondering, he only ripped he's arm off.

    but how could he die?

  • @EvilboyBackUp63 Shock and blood loss?

  • @rippedlampshade yeah he could still be alive. i mean come on, i seen people on tv who just lost they's arm and feet. still alive 2.

  • @EvilboyBackUp63 he died from shock and blood loss

  • This was stupid and gross at the same time.....Just saying

  • tht movies was so fake god dam i could think of 20 other things tht could make it more scary not even a baby would be afarid of this!

  • @Sk8rGirl124 Really? List how you would fix this, all twenty things. For that matter, show me the baby who would not be frightened by this, and I will show you a child so young it has no idea what it's even looking at.

  • I.... I never... never... NEVER WANTED TO SEE THAT.... that...that thing...

  • I was afraid that the horrible spider-walking head would be under my bed waiting for me to get down and eat my feet!!!! T.T

  • @StefaniaLVS if u watch the movie then u would know, that 5 seconds after the end he killed that spider ^^

  • classic i love the old stuff it beats the hell out of the god dam shit they come with today

  • I honestly didn't expect the original to be this damn good. Wow.

  • Now I can't eat noodles.

  • WHAT THE FUCK!

  • I watched this stoned out of my mine one time and tripped fucking balls. lol

  • ooooooooooooooo shit bad ass!!!!!!!!!!!

  • if it was chuck norris, the thing would turn into him instead

  • OMG ITS A TRAP ITS A TRAP

  • Why was I expecting Chuck Norris?

  • Wasnt it Hal Bigger in charge for the special effects on this movie ?

  • haha the sound effects are wacky though

  • omg, im gonna go find MIB and get my memory erased

  • @Over9000LAWLZ Im going with you :\

  • Kill it with fire!

  • youve got a be fuckin kidding.... it ended before he could burn it

  • the part when the thing bites the man hand off, everyone inside the room was not surprised. They should really improve on their acting skills

  • 0:00-0:14 what the fuck did I just watch?

  • @quatroproz The alien didn't like being defibrillated.

  • why whould they make the dog more fucked up than mouth belley piece of shit still good movie

  • oh shit o,o

  • I had a cousin who turned out to be one of these things. Fortunately, she expired.

  • Lol, the others are hust standing there like he broke a nail or something.

  • Really?

They just stand there with a flamethrower and just look at it crawl away, SLOWY!

    jeebuz.

  • @Repudation This clip cuts out a half second before Kurt Russell burns it haha.

  • @Repudation They killed it dumbass.

  • @DadeC0untyBoi Do you not see the thing crawling away?

  • @Repudation Did you not see the movie? Obviously you didn't. They kill this "Thing".

  • @DadeC0untyBoi ooogly moogly you dumby I'm talking about why didn't they kill it when it was walking away. jeebuz.

  • @Repudation What are you, gay? O_o I'm saying fact of the matter is they torched the piece of shit whether you thought it crawled away or not. Watch the movie before you actually comment on a scene from it, lol. Making yourself look like a senseless idiot who knows nothing about the film.

  • that was crazy how the head detached itself to stay alive

  • Repetitively press 1 for OM NOM NOM.

  • Funny and gross at the same time. But when the guy screamed it was funny

  • CGI can suck The Things dick!

  • @dragoncrest13 no you're not. I prefer it too..CGI is ok for some things

  • CLEARRR!!!!

Thing: MOTHA FUCKA LEMME SLEEP! (om nom nom)

    XZFDSGFADSHS!!!!

  • Am I the only one who thinks that practical effect such as these look FAR more realistic and believable than CGI effects that are used today?

  • i watch this movie in blu ray .80s horror movies scary as fuck unlike those horror cgi animation.

  • this part makes me laugh every time

  • just saw the prequel! A great companion to this timeless classic!

  • They made it good in the 80's, but one question is now in our minds: Will the 2011 version be any better?! 8D

  • The stomach scene really got me when I first saw it. I love showing this movie to people who haven't seen it before.

  • just eeeeeewwww. cool though.

  • I saw this movie for the first time last night...really disturbing stuff for a 30 year old movie. I still got chills watching this scene I thought "meh it probably has cheesy 80's special fx"

  • @sab0nes i saw this last night too first time to see it and i was horrofied to see the creature at the end, that big toothy mouth, the dogs head, this was a gore fest so i watched it and i wasnt disappointed...

  • dead space was inspired by monsters from this movie and plot elements from alien (and for anyone who thinks about it and knows the full plotline, dead space 2 is a heluvalot like aliens)

  • Why do certain people compare materials from The Thing movie and with games like Dead Space? For what reason anyway?

  • @Armalizilto dead space based its aliens on the flood from halo, the alien from thing, and the alien from the movie alien. :p

  • All I think is these things are like what's in dead space

  • three words...what the fuck

  • if they do anything like this at hollywood horror nights im freaking the fuck out

  • the is fuckn crazy!!!

  • press 3 over and over again : EAT MY FLAME BITCHES

  • this is serious oscar material for the effects.

  • pressing 5 sounds like he is saying ball sack

  • @hollande511 "ballsack" "where!!??" LOL

  • "You gotta be fucking kidding?" -Palmer
