I do not understand that they complain that "la vastità della chiesa ha compromesso la qualità dell'audio".

It exactly the contrary: the acoustic resonance of a large church enhances the majesty and the magnificence of this music, which has been composed in 1791 to be played in churches - and even in large ones like the Stephansdom in Vienna.
