  • This tune is on the soundtrack to about 500 movies now!

Not that I object, gotta love Nyman.

  • one person is having a bad acid trip

  • the scene with the beacon left the most impression on me. It reminded me of how close they were to the sky :)

  • I had this stuck in my head today.

  • Rebuild the Twin Towers! I'd move in and live there for the rest of my life and go on the roof everyday, lay down and look in the sky for hours listening to this!

  • DavidfromBA It's too pity you can't speak Russian but it's ok. In my country many people can speak different languages especially English. I'm thankful to you for your reading of my message. I'm glad our tastes coincided.

  • @SuperTheOlga I speak fluent English and French, and just enough Spanish to bore native speakers and put their patience to the test.

  • Best music (and film) EVER!

  • French Army may have lost a lot of wars, yet it's hard for me to imagine one American dude doing the same thing

  • Choosing Michael Nyman's music for this film was a stroke of genius. It's amazing how well it fits, despite being composed years and in some cases decades prior.

  • How even a single person can dislike this music is extraordinary . . . whoever you are, you have my awe.

  • Though I was familiar with the works of Nyman before watching this movie (I hate documentaries and this is still one of my favorite movies of all time, mind you) but I had never heard Fish beach before. The scene, such strong imagery and the song, so simple and touching, I was taken aback. The combination of these elements sparked a very primal sense of wonder that I thought I lost long ago. I owe Michael Nyman dearly for showing me this feeling again. Thank you Michael.

  • Dear Osama bin Laden - I dare you to try something this beautiful.

  • So I have to listen to this everyday now.

  • i was the 16001 viewer!!!!

  • @bigfellalixnaw hmmm ok so ?

  • ba chóir don amhrán seo ar gach scannán.

  • love this piece of music too much!!! Check out our dance to it on our page

  • this is just brilliant. How emotional

  • this music from nyman was written for the great movie "drowning by numbers" by the director peter greenaway, a great movie, a great director, a great music "man on wire" is later, and they used the same music

  • @fabrixiuss this song is also present in the soundtrack of The Cook the Thief His Wife & Her Lover (1989)

  • that scene is way better, but i like this movie to.

  • this song is so good and makes me sad to think about what happened that terrible day

  • @superkryp13 what terrible day? this film has nothing to do with 9/11 if thats what your refering too

  • @kx85rider79 the song is moving is what im trying to say lol

  • Yeah, i love that bit too.

  • That tune made me cry at the end of the documentary. It fitted so well with the magic and greatness of what Philippe Petit accomplished, and how it was told.

  • This track is almost the same as the soundtrack of Carrington: Beacus......

  • this is the first i've heard of Nyman, but this is an incredible piece. it completely made Man on Wire for me.

  • me too, it made the movie. stunning piece.

  • this song moves me most with it's use in The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover. Look it up if you haven't already.

  • Except for his requiem for the Heysel tragedy, this is my favorite Nyman piece. So aching.

  • The scene where they played this while showing the World Trade Center being built moved me to tears.

That scene alone made this flick oscar worthy.

  • @ivyt Me too

  • @ivyt Everything after the WTC operation began moved me to tears. Incredible film, incredible subject.

  • @ivyt as a man who watched the world trade centers fall from eight blocks away, i had the same experience with this scene.

  • @ivyt

Stop saying "flick." It's a stupid sounding word. Say "film" or "movie", your call.

  • @MagnusRulerHardt Really though, I hate the word movie as well.

  • @JasonLRakes

Saying "film" all the time makes you sound like a douchebag hipster. "Flick" is the worst. There is no such thing.

  • @MagnusRulerHardt Moo-vee. Something about it makes you sound like an unwashed peasant. I agree film sounds slightly douchey, but it's the best option.

  • @JasonLRakes

    I guess, maybe.

  • I've been waiting for someone to put this on youtube. :) :) made my day.

  • Epic--

  • The tenor sax on a Nyman's piece, simply inevitable.

  • euh dude theres no tenor sax this is a cello O_O

  • Minute 0.47 through 2.07 Tenor sax (Nyman's signature), as I said: inevitable.

    Listen again, son.

  • are u sure because its really look like an cello u know...

  • definitely tenor sax. :) i think nyman lives for the tenor sax.

  • im musically inept and play no instruments.. so i couldn't really care less as to what it was (no offence to either of you).. this is simply majestic..

  • I love this song.
