Rebuild the Twin Towers! I'd move in and live there for the rest of my life and go on the roof everyday, lay down and look in the sky for hours listening to this!
DavidfromBA It's too pity you can't speak Russian but it's ok. In my country many people can speak different languages especially English. I'm thankful to you for your reading of my message. I'm glad our tastes coincided.
@SuperTheOlga I speak fluent English and French, and just enough Spanish to bore native speakers and put their patience to the test.
Choosing Michael Nyman's music for this film was a stroke of genius. It's amazing how well it fits, despite being composed years and in some cases decades prior.
Though I was familiar with the works of Nyman before watching this movie (I hate documentaries and this is still one of my favorite movies of all time, mind you) but I had never heard Fish beach before. The scene, such strong imagery and the song, so simple and touching, I was taken aback. The combination of these elements sparked a very primal sense of wonder that I thought I lost long ago. I owe Michael Nyman dearly for showing me this feeling again. Thank you Michael.
Just watched the cook the thief his wife and her lover today and when I heard this song in it I was brought right back to watching this...Used beautifully in both films.
this music from nyman was written for the great movie "drowning by numbers" by the director peter greenaway, a great movie, a great director, a great music "man on wire" is later, and they used the same music
That tune made me cry at the end of the documentary. It fitted so well with the magic and greatness of what Philippe Petit accomplished, and how it was told.
@MagnusRulerHardt Moo-vee. Something about it makes you sound like an unwashed peasant. I agree film sounds slightly douchey, but it's the best option.
im musically inept and play no instruments.. so i couldn't really care less as to what it was (no offence to either of you).. this is simply majestic..
This tune is on the soundtrack to about 500 movies now!
Not that I object, gotta love Nyman.

How even a single person can dislike this music is extraordinary . . . whoever you are, you have my awe.

Except for his requiem for the Heysel tragedy, this is my favorite Nyman piece. So aching.

That scene alone made this flick oscar worthy.

Stop saying "flick." It's a stupid sounding word. Say "film" or "movie", your call.

@MagnusRulerHardt Really though, I hate the word movie as well.
