  • Game forum weapon! Hahahahaha!

  • Well, I'm off to find natheodorus' comment. I'll be back in three years.

  • @iamthegreatest1234 Whoa hold on dude just press the blue "see all" link above the comment box and press ctrl and the f key. Then type the user name and it will highlight where the name shows up.

  • SO IN CONCLUSION. If you do slowmotion/ramped shots then use 60 fps. Since youtube flash player is only capable of doing 30 fps and it will be regular speed for the entire video, then just use 30 fps. PROBLEM SOLVED!

  • another thing you could try is by pausing the video on normal speed and looking at the difference between the still images. yes youtube does cap videos to 30fps but you can still notice the difference as they are rendered at different fps

  • YouTube limits itself to 30 fps

  • @9MinamiKe6 then why is 60 smoother?

  • @dragonxanimation Youtube is not support 60fps

  • @qefyr then maybe he cut down the 60 to 30 and the 30 to 15

  • 168000 views for this crap?

  • 60fps slow motion looks better, right?

  • 720 60fps it is!

  • 30 fps has more blur in slow mo

  • I never really noticed a difference between 30fps and 60fps as long as my shit dont drop below 30fps I dont care.

  • Yes, the human eye can tell the difference between 30 and 60fps, just like how the human ear can hear the difference between V0 and FLAC. Placebo is an awesome drug.

  • The human eye can sure as he'll tell the difference between 30fps and 60fps, the catch is you have to watch it on a 60fps monitor, and youtube only streams in 30fps(?).

  • you should have disabled resampling on the 30fps clip in sony vegas before rendering.

  • The human eye cannot tell between 30FPS and 60FPS unless a video is slowed down, or in a game there is lag. Hence why slow motion only works well with 60FPS or higher.

  • @Kobz360 What humans are talking about? All humans I know can see the difference.

  • For those of you who said that youtube can't go above 30 fps, well fraps told me I was running this video at 45 fps. HA

  • I can only tell the difference when the shots are slowed down. Sorta the affect high speed cams have on things...of course 60 frames can show more info in a second than 30 but at full go that 30/60 frames happens so fast no random person on the street would be able to tell unless the video is slowed down.

  • doesn't you tube only playback at 30 fps ... so why would it look different at normal speed.

  • The slomo is deceptive. Pause @ 0:22 and you can see no difference in normal speed....they both have the same amount of motion blur. Therefore 60 FPS is really only noticeable and good for slowing down play speed with a smoother playback.

  • Purpose of 60 FPS is to take more frames in one second so you can make better slowmotion. That's it and as he is saying, he render final output in 29.970 NTSC, so why the hell you talking about human eyes? It's all about getting slowmotion not playback rate.

  • No, the human eye doesn't view images at a set frame rate. The difference between 30 and 60 is prominent, but even the difference between 60 and 120 is visible.

Also, there's nothing faulty about the video.

  • Comment removed

  • The whole argument about what FPS the human eye can see at is very old and very wrong.

60FPS is easily distinguishable from 30FPS. I can even tell the difference between 60FPS and 120FPS.

It's much, MUCH more noticeable on the PC since graphics (even in video games) do not usually include motion blur, but it's also evident in video.

  • @Falcrist Thank you. Someone who uses their brain.

  • @Falcrist actuallythe human eye thing is true. This video is faulty because it is repeated multiple times in slow motion.

  • @Falcrist FPS doesn't have anything to motion blur (If you are saying that, I might don't understand you at this point). Shutter speed have got to do with motion blur.

  • @Falcrist You do realize YouTube videos have a cap of 30 fps right? so this video is useless.

  • @Falcrist and you're not working for NASA or something like that yet? MAN!!!

  • lol, many hates on me eh.

the thing is, many people came here is just to see if 30 fps would make a big difference to 60 fps. and no one really cares about slow motion except for those professionals.

30 fps and 60 fps didnt make any big difference(maybe just smoother). our eyes can only see at most 32 fps.

maybe you will see a little difference in normal speed, thats because it wont stay at 30 fps, it maybe stays at 26-28 fps

sorry for bad english, not my native language

  • @natheodorus the human eye at most has 32FPS? are you seriously shitting me?

  • @natheodorus Wrong. Its actually around 120FPS.

  • @natheodorus This old 30fps thing was just from a load of people who watched an optical express advert and used it as facts. I can distinguish between 30 and 60, and while I don't think 30fps is bad, at all, I would much rather have 60fps. The only thing that limits (in real terms) how smoothly you're going to see things on a screen is the refresh rate of that screen. Which is nowadays about 60-75Hz.

  • En sachent que 25 fps suffit pour l'oeil humain.

  • @Gingeous right click the video and press show video info. It clearly states that the video is running at 30fps (if not lower). This goes for any other video on youtube.

  • i think what everyone is missing is that although the 60fps has to run at 30 fps on youtube. You get little to no motion blur in frames because of higher capture rate. You just remove every second frame to make a 30fps video. You have the same framed shot between 30fps and 60 fps except the images from 60fps doesn't blur the motion

  • I'm pretty sure youtube only allows 24-30fps

  • Here you go all you idiots who say you can't see a difference between 30 and 60 fps.

    boallen.com/fps-compare.html

  • I'm curious to see how mine will look when I get around to shooting at 120fps.

  • wow sherloc, welcome to the future!

  • thanks:]

  • Who says You Tube on supports 30 fps only!?

  • @Marshall6971

    Fraps... :P

  • this is cross-eye 3d! try!=)

  • 30 fps{bf3) vs 60fps(mw3)

  • @j0kerfamegame thats the reason im in this vid

  • @j0kerfamegame BUT on PC, bf3 200+fps, mw3, 60fps. HA!

  • @pyregeth Actually MW3 will get a much higher FPS than 60 on PC.

  • @chrisybwell depends what fps_max is set to, but for now, im good with 200+ fps on ultra settings for bf3 :3 and after hearing about unranked dedicated servers for PC, i cancelled my pre-order.

  • @pyregeth It doesn't matter though since the servers can choose to have everything unlocked by default so everyone has the same offering. Hardly a reason to cancel your preorder, surprised you didn't cancel your BF preorder when you found out you had to go through origin and that the server browser is web browser based.

  • @chrisybwell i like bf3 because of the awesome graphics, new engine, and ever since the day i got bored of cod and bought bc2 on steam, i like it. and the web browser i dont really care, since it doesnt affect gameplay on bit. and for origin, im still waiting for bf3 to go on steam, until then, ill be using it no matter what.

  • @j0kerfamegame

    no

    just no.

  • actually 32 fps is max but the clarity is obvious

  • the left side looks like someone wiped their ass with it

  • AwesoMe Video

  • It have no sence, our eye can see only 24 FPS

  • @TPAM6OH5 are you retarded? Hahahaha

  • @TPAM6OH5

I hope your trolling. Our eye has been proven to see over 500fps. Go ahead and do some research.

  • great demonstration! It's worth mentioning that 60fps also lends itself much better to plugins such as Twixtor, for super slow motion frame rendering.

  • @DanishHawks it depends , its a little like games , the more frames per second, smoother and crisp the game or in this case video, go pro has r3 mode 720p in 60 fps and r5 1080p 30 fps, they both spend the same file space since in r3 you have lower quality but smoother image r5 may have better image but may have cracks wavy motions in high speed videos and motions

  • if only R5 1080 p in 60 fps

  • How did you do a smooth slowmotion with the 60fps?

  • In the normal playback the clips look the same (YouTube plays/encodes(or whatever it is) at 30 fps) but slowed down 60fps wins. 60fps also has a faster shutter speed, so blur is reduced/ taken away.

  • so this is the quality of 30 fps!

  • stupid test. video in youtube NEVER past 30 fps

it was just like 30 fps vs 15 fps

  • @natheodorus omg he tested slowmotion so 60fps... you just didnt grasp the significance of thist test.

  • @natheodorus Your a genuine retardation of the human genome. Please kill yourself in a fire before the defect spreads.

  • @natheodorus why is it stupid? its just showing which is better...

  • @natheodorus You are the stupid, it is 30 fps vs 30 fps

  • @natheodorus stupidest comment in YOutube congrats!!

  • @damdaminouchou93 No, he is right, youtube doesn't allow 60fps footage. Obviously you can see a difference on the video because he slows it down and you can see some blurring and stuff. But you aren't truly seeing the difference between 60 and 30 in the normal footage

  • @natheodorus your eye cant see more than 30 in normal circumstances so why dose youtube need more than 30 fps oh wait they are taking clips at 30fps and slowing it down and 60fps and slowing it down ...... then rendering it as a normal viewing rate to see what it looks like . have a nice day

  • @MrTechPotato 60fps is noticeable but you won't notice it on youtube. 60fps is especially noticeable in games

  • @WeEatBrainz lol. 60FPS is incredibly low for gaming. Most games run at up to 1000FPS on PC. Also, I think he was showing that 60FPS gives smoother slow motion than 30FPS, which obviously (even on YouTube) it does. Herp derp.

  • @MDotMosley We are talking about console gaming, 60fps is great for console gaming. Your monitor can't display 1000fps so 1000fps in a pc game is pointless, you are still likely seeing 60fps in most cases. I said that 60fps looks better than slow motion, it just doesn't look better at normal speed on youtube because youtube only publishes videos at 30 frames per second. This is exactly what i said. Why did you reply to me if you basically restated my original comment?

  • @WeEatBrainz Actually playing at high FPS makes the game feel a lot more responsive, but whatever. And the comment I replied to was where you said that the top rated comment was correct, when really it's a fairly retarded statement.

  • @MDotMosley No. Playing at a framerate that your monitor can't even support does not make the game more responsive. Your monitor is most likely 60hz, unless it is a very new or 3d monitor, then it would be 120-240hz. The number that fraps or the game tells you is completely irrelevant, if it is over 60, chances are there is no difference because the vast majority of users don't like wasting money on 3d monitors that support 120 frames per second.

  • @MDotMosley And no, I simply stated that a part of the top rated comment is factually correct. You don't seem to understand these framerate caps. You can only see a difference in slow motion because youtube caps the framerate at 30, at full speed they are both moving at 30 frames per second...period. Your monitor most likely has a max framerate of 60 unless you wasted your money on an overpriced 3d monitor, you won't notice a difference between a game running 60 or 1000fps, it only outputs 60

  • @natheodorus Ever heard about interlacing?

  • @natheodorus True where it's with normal speed, but at the slowmotion parts it's more accurate.

  • @natheodorus Sir, are you retarded?

  • @natheodorus Its still better 2 record/render in the highest FPS u can reach to get it smooth.

  • @Reeztify

    yes, of course i know

but there are many people came here for the reason to see if their games can only produce 30 fps, would it make any big difference with 60 fps

the answer is no big difference, just smoother controls

  • @natheodorus with the slow mo does

  • @natheodorus your monitor can only display 30 fps any way :D

  • there's a HUGE difference between 60fps and what you see here on youtube, which is only 30fps MAX.

  • huge different!

  • Prior to COD4 weren't all COD games less than 60 fps? I never noticed, I guess it's not that big a deal if you're not super picky about it.

  • There is really no difference between 30 and 60 fps at normal speed. If you pause the video at normal speed, they are both equally blurry. The only difference between the 2 is when it is in slow motion which would be irrelevant for comparing the frame rate of games since any slow motion sequences would be rendered the same as normal gameplay.

  • @Jackal498 YouTube only displays 30fps. This is just a simulation of the differences. Believe you me there is a massive difference between 30fps and 60fps.

  • @Jackal498 You couldnt be any more wrong...Please dont state opinions. I think facts hold a bit more water than opinions. If you need me to elaborate...just ask me. Not trying to be rude so please dont take it that way.

  • if you pause at 0:26 - 0:27 you can really see the difference...

  • 30fps isn't bad tbh, I prefer it over 60 as long as it is a constant 30fps unlike CoD 60 one second 15fps after a Napalm Strike or something.

  • @2mek8 Why are you such a hater. BF3 will still be amazingly awesome on console. You fucking suck, you do know hardly any console games are true HD whether its 720p or 1080p, most are Sub-HD and are upscaled to 720p. This including all your precious COD games ALL OF THE COD's are Sub-HD so quit hating on Battlefield for not being true HD when COD has been doing it for the longest and no one complains about IT.

  • i dont understand why pc gamers are alays saying shame? all exclusive games, adds on etc come son console not pc haha shame!

  • Sucks that on consoles BF3 is 30FPS

Sucks that on PC we have to use Origin (which lets EA use ANY information on your computer. "I agree to these terms and conditions")

  • BF3 would not even be 720p

    so its not HD

    30FPS

why is it even comming out 4 consoles, GONE SUCK 4 PS3 and XBOX360

  • @2mek8 HAHA THEY SAID THAT IN PS3 AND XBOX 360 WILL HAVE BETTER GRAPHICS IF YOU HAVE AN HD TV AHAHHAA ! BUY A FUCKING PS3 OR XBOX 360 KID!

  • So if i would buy the best camera, i should buy the more expensive one, to get better slow-mo quality?

  • GO MW3! 60FPS !

  • wHEN U PAUSE THE VIDEO, 30FPS IS BLURRED, 60 FPS NOT.

  • @PiroBojd duh... in real life things look blurry when they move fast... so its not so bad right?

  • ummm.... cod being at 60 fps is a lie... the games never stay at 60fps their usually jumping around from 40 to 55 specially online.

  • @PiroBojd Yeah, this is a poor comparison. There's serious ghosting going on in the 30FPS video, whereas the 60FPS video is fairly artifact-free.

  • @PiroBojd THATS SMART... YOU ARE SMART... MARRY ME!

  • @PiroBojd I paused it somewhere, and the truth is 60 FPS blur too, but not as often as 30 FPS

  • @PiroBojd That's what you get when the frame rate is lower. Movies are done in 24fps but motion blur gets added to give the illusion of smoother movement.

  • you tube videos are encoded in 30fps, so there is actually no point of trying to see the diff.......BITCHEZZZZ

  • @PINPOPOBAh the 60 fps only matters when your editing so if you do slow motion it will be 30 fps rather than 15

  • this is pathetic, you didnt undersample the 30fps clip just rendered to 30

  • @JohnMorris10 youtube always renders it into 30fps

  • @themashypotato in the editing software...

thats why the 30fps clip that is 60 but just rendered to 30 has all the ghosting

  • It's all about 120 fps

  • thanks

  • wth are you saying, both the ps3 and 360 are 30fps for 60 you gotta have an inceribly powerfull computer rig

  • All you tube videos are at 30FPS and there is a huge difference between 30 and 60. The Human eye cant see above 60FPS so don't believe any one telling you bullshit about there is no big difference.

  • @DSRvmv111 thats not strictly ture

  • whait are those really 30FPS ?

because allot of games play in 30 fps right ? ive never seen a blur like that before...

  • @shadowkid1993 it depends on the machine running the game. most pc users nowadays try to achieve 60 fps but truth be told, 30 fps is still very playable. it's just that having an avg of 30 fps means having lows of anywhere between 20-29 fps which is basically a slideshow. i think most xbox games run over 30 fps too. MW2 and Black Ops on Xbox run 60 fps. rule of thumb is to make sure you have 10-15 fps to slice off your avg and if it's still above 30 youre good.

  • graphics are just a feature its all about the gameplay

  • And that's why you game on PC. The 360 is 5 years old and outdated, get over it

  • With 60 frames you can make better slowmos so this vid is senseless :D

  • PEOPLE! This video isn't about video games, move your fanboy conversations elsewhere.

  • You act like graphics makes the game...you can't decide which game will be better until it comes out, you fools

  • ALL Youtube videos are 30 fps. You cant change it to 60 no matter what

  • There is a huge difference when playing a game.

  • Battlefield on Console will have the Best graphics ever, and as you can see 30 fps and 60 fps doenst really matter

  • 60 fps is definitely significantly clearer and less blurry.

  • @Donutman369 ohh captain obvius is here!!!!

  • your eyes can barely tell the differenco bf3 beats cod

  • @AWESOMENESSCAKES

Wrong. The human eye can see over 200FPS.

Youtube encodes videos at 30FPS, you have to download the source video to see a difference.

And yes, BF3 will beat CoD in terms of quality, but not sales.

  • 60fps is def sharper! 100%

  • i bet your views really sky rocketed when bf3 annouced 60 fpson pc and only 30 for console, but i didnt see a differnce till slo mo

  • Isnt youtube locked at 30fps, so this video kinda fails when not in slowmotion!?

  • Its great 3D if u cross ur eyes ;)

  • Anyway to upscale a video to 60fps?

  • too bad youtube is locked to watch video at 30 fps. (right click on video - video information) I hope youtube will launch 60 fps soon.

  • Youtube converts any 60fps video to 30 fps, you cant see any difference here. Neither will you see any difference on your monitor between 60 and 90 or 120, unless you have 120Hz monitor.

And about Paradigms comment, human eye can see up to 200 and above fps, Tho, there aren't any monitors to this date that would use 200Hz frequency, i doubt that there will ever be, no actual point, everything above 30 fps is just eye-candy and motion fluidity. Tho i have 120Hz monitor, i can see the difference.

  • I'm also here for BF3........ -.-'

  • I don't give a shit about some buggy driving around, I wanted to know if my Xbox Battlefield 3 was gonna be like a cinema in the early 1900's! :D

  • 60 fps looks better, at 30 fps the image of the vehicle looks blurry, pause at 0:01 or 0:04 and youll see, i wonder if you can do something like this but with water, i think it would be a better video

  • You just got a bunch of views thanks to BF3 and MW3

  • Bf3 is 60fps on cpu only. Mw3 will demolish :P

  • @Melwantl10thlprstg The human eye can't even recognize the difference between 30fps and 60fps.

  • @ParadigmShiftr yes it can, you moron.

  • @helgih580 Lul. Okay, I'm a moron with a Masters' degree, and you're smarter because you post on youtube. I guess I forgot.

No, in actuality, the human eye CANNOT discern the difference between 30fps and 60fps when the game/movie is playing at normal speed. If you have proof otherwise, post it. ... or continue calling everyone who holds different views a moron, lol. Whatever helps you sleep at night.

  • @ParadigmShiftr Just a thought, have you ever played Bad Company 2 on console and PC? If not then you can see a big difference with how it looks when your running. Now fair enough, the regular speed on the video are the same practly.

  • @ParadigmShiftr it's not a different view, it's simply wrong. Almost all Youtube videos run at 30 fps so this is why there is no difference, because they are both running at 30 fps at normal speed. Please do some research before flashing your masters degree in peoples faces.

  • @helgih580 Yes, I know that. Which means the 60fps is really running at 30fps and the 30fps is really running at 15fps. Visibly, anyway. The comparison this video is attempting to display is still perfectly valid in light of this. A frame-by-frame slowdown of this very video itself will show that even played through YouTube, the right capture has twice as many frames as the left.

But hey, I'm just a guy with a Masters' degree. Oh, but I don't deserve it. Because helgih580 says so.

  • @ParadigmShiftr It seems masters degrees are given out like candy nowadays. Ever heard of 600 Hz TVs, no I guess not. Ever played FPS games on PC? No I guess not. Do you know the reason why some games aim SPECIFICALLY for 60fps? Nope, I guess not either. Why all the extra frames if no one notices them? Have you ever used the program called FRAPS? - I doubt it. Have you ever played CS? - I doubt that one too. Try saying this hogwash to anyone with a 100Hz monitor and they will laugh to your face.

  • @helgih580 I could say the same thing to you. Your entire argument is one big unsupported anecdote with a few hastily erected strawmen for good measure. It's really easy to just spew bullshit and add a few numbers and the shorthand for Hertz after reading Wikipedia for two weeks.

  • @ParadigmShiftr ok, I'm going to end this with: you're a fag, good day to you sir.

  • @helgih580 Way to go, kid. End it with an insult. It's a pretty accurate demonstration of your entire level of intelligence.

    Peace.

  • @ParadigmShiftr ok, fine. You've baited me into actually trying to make a reasonable argument. The reason this argument is pretty much pointless is because it's based on perception. Noticing the difference between 30fps and 60fps is something that takes practice. Most people start out as tone deaf when they start playing instruments, but gradually notice an out of tune note, however subtle it may be. Explaining is not enough. Please Google ''30fps vs 60fps comparison'' and pick the top result.

  • @ParadigmShiftr entirely agree with you

  • @ParadigmShiftr Clearly you did your Master's degree in nail technology lol. The human eye can notice the difference between 60fps and 30fps very clearly. But 50fps and 60fps would be a lot harder. And as the framerate increases above and beyond 60fps it would get harder to notice the differences because it would become so smooth. It is easy to notice that something is played in a low fps because the motion will not appear to be fluid.

  • @chrisybwell Notice what I said about posting proof? Your word of mouth =/= proof. Look up "visible frame-rate" on Wikipedia, or a nice website called 100fps. All the proof you need on human FPS perception.

How "smooth" something is hardly depends on FPS at all.

Also note that YouTube will not support video rendered at more than 30fps. This is a test of 30fps vs. 15fps, and they're different because HERP DERP. It's 15 fps.

  • @ParadigmShiftr Clearly a very mature person. I would cite what I wrote but YouTube doesn't support that. If you read any of that 100fps website you would have seen that one of the first things is that motion becomes fluid/smooth when it is recorded and played at around 18fps.

Do you think a 2fps animation would look smooth? What about a 60fps animation?

There are YouTube videos that are in 60fps. This comparison is in slow motion as well so it is also a test of 60fps.

  • @chrisybwell No, actually there are NOT youtube videos at 60fps, because the website renders them at 30fps. If you have evidence to the contrary, please PM it to me.

  • Man...Now I am not going to be pleased with my Xbox Battlefield 3 because if I slow mo it, it will look less normal LOL

  • So many butthurt console fanboys :D

  • @Kevzen0 So many elitist PC fanboys.

  • @Kevzen0 You're a dumbass, consoles can handle 60 fps too. Driver San Francisco is 60 fps on consoles.

  • @NTom92 Consoles can handle any framerate. Bad graphics means that the framerate will be higher.

  • 30 fps makes the car all blurry
