Color correction is not what looks is for actually. Though you can cc in it, it is for cging, which is giving an overall look to something. I cc then cg at the end of everything. Your in-built CCer will allow you to separate your subject from the background and be more precise with the adjustments.
nice tutorial, I will use it. Just thought on one thing, as the contrast goes up, so does the blackness of her eyes. Actually they look a bit too black in the end I think...I think the eyes should have been separated somehow from the bullet-effect settings.. I cant final cut at all so I should probably not complain...but but
hey u mentioned tutorials how to set up your dslr to shoot flat so you can make it look even better in post grading, can you tell these settings or list the sites with those tutorials?
Excellent tutorial. Didn't even think of doing 3 way colour correction in MBL. Always struggled with FInal Cut Express, but I can now appreciate the real value of looks.
Lovely video Chris, top quality and a real help. Just started using FCP after starting a new job (always used Premiere at home), good to see quality tutorials like this, solid example footage, no dodgy audio narration, and a mix of personal opinion and comparisons of different tecniques. Good stuff!
But did you use any external Objective? I mean you did get like very good depth of field I don't think a system camera can make this good results, or what?
Hi Chris! hey u mentioned something about some places online where u can Check some tips for setting ur camera to get those neutral colors. could u please post them here. thanks
@onjoMedia Apple Color is a PITA cuz you have to do the whole timeline at a time... Bullet you can do clip by clip and it is more friendly when you are still editing.
@chrisfenwick Sorry, but that's actually not correct. You can do each clip in the Primary In room (or tab) and the whole clip in the Primary Out room (or tab).
Great tutorial. How do you get the color corrector and image to come up isolated over black with the reflection underneath? It's right at the 3:00 mark. I would love to color in that setting. Thanks.

Great tut. Thanks Chris. I'm actually thinking Color 1.5 in FCS will do what Bullet can do without the presets. Any thoughts on that?
