tiananmen incident is tragic but the students wished to convert communism to democracy overnight. that is not realistic. they would not leave until they get their way. the chinese government responded with what they have (tanks and guns). at the time, they did not have much expreience with riots nor did they have anti-riot gear. secondly, the leaders of the communist party were willing to negociate and even came out to talk to the students.

hk television can be broadcasted in china. mainland provinces around HK can watch HK television shows. why would mainlanders want to watch HK shows anyway? majority of them don't even speak cantonese. If they really want to watch HK shows, they can just go there. Why wouldn't ppl be able to read HK books? I'm not going to argue against the fact that Chinese has censorship. However, western media makes China seem like the root of all evil. That is simply not true. It is very slowly moving toward democracy (whatever that is) and has already become a capitalistic country. Chinese people are generally happy with how things are and are very proud.

tiananmen incident is tragic but the students wished to convert communism to democracy overnight. that is not realistic. they would not leave until they get their way. the chinese government responded with what they have (tanks and guns). at the time, they did not have much expreience with riots nor did they have anti-riot gear. secondly, the leaders of the communist party were willing to negociate and even came out to talk to the students.

hk television can be broadcasted in china. mainland provinces around HK can watch HK television shows. why would mainlanders want to watch HK shows anyway? majority of them don't even speak cantonese. If they really want to watch HK shows, they can just go there. Why wouldn't ppl be able to read HK books? I mean, HK is part of china ya know. also, chinese media criticize their government officials in newspapers and on television and they often expose their wrongdoings.

Some channels can be broadcasted but NOT the news, I am not saying shows BUT NEWS, why?, cus sometimes they are against the government. My friend bought a book in HK and a=couldnt bring it to mainland, of course HK is part of China but you know their declaration said they should maintain its english capitalist system for 40 years, so some of their books,media...will criticise the government, like many webpages are closed in China for this reason,etc

Of couse HK is a part of China now, BUT you should recognize that is status it is a little bit different, for example, a chinese needs a visa for entering in HK, HOWEVER I am spanish and I dont need it, this shows chinese people cant enter in HK as free as we do

I'm not going to argue against the fact that Chinese has censorship. However, western media makes China seem like the root of all evil. That is simply not true. It is very slowly moving toward democracy (whatever that is) and has already become a capitalistic country. Chinese people are generally happy with how things are and are very proud.

In my opinion that is because we DONT LIKE the chinese GOVERNMENT and criticize their mistakes, HOWEVER they manipulate the context in which something is said and taking some words in order that it seems we are criticising chinese people and no government on the other hand people is happy with the economy, but many people, especially in GZ doesnt like the politicians now

Western media portrays the Tibetans are peaceful protestors and that was a blatant lie. If you watch the videos above, you will see that they were not at all peaceful. The first video was captured by an Australian tourist in Tibet. Tibetans initiated the riot and the Chinese army responded appropriately.

The US destroys the whole world, 1 of 5 people are trown out of their houses in the US, economical disaster for other western countries because of them, wars and violence (=human right violations, but killing innocent people seems to be ok when it is for "democracy") everywhere, I think the western "free" system failed.
Tibet is not about human rights, China is simply becoming too strong... its time for a new system, I think China can do much much better!
