Color, no. Or if you meant breed, then I'm not sure... they each have their own unique personality but I haven't paid much attention to specific traits that were more common in certain breeds than others.

@Kulmanj4 That's ridiculously smart for a chicken :P I think the most I could get them to do was occasionally come when I call them. One time I had my back turned to them and one of the hens jumped up on a boulder and lunged across the chicken pen into my arms when I turned around.

@Kulmanj4 That's a cute name for a chicken :) We hatched 21 or 22, I think, back in 2001, but we only have 3 left, Planola, Mona, and Road Runner :( When they first hatched there was one named Mo that was always jumping on my lap, way friendlier than the others. Now Planola is the one that does that lol.

cool, my fam is getting chickens and i have a question. should we get all of them at the same time because will different ages cause conflict or can we get like two at a time each moth because we already have a smaller cage suitable for two at a time.

If you mean having chicks around grown chickens other than their mother, I don't think that would work... we hatched all of ours at the same time, and they were fine together... then later a couple of our hens hatched their own eggs, and I think we had to give them their own little pen for awhile, but I don't remember for sure. A couple years later, we introduced some new hens to the flock that were a year younger than the others, but they were all grown up by then so it didn't make a difference

The main thing we had a problem with were the roosters--we hatched about 22 chickens and over half of them were roosters, so they ended up fighting each other when they grew up. You need a way to keep them apart, or just get one.

Also, our neighbour and my cousin each had a flock of hens, no rooster, and they had the same problem: the hens fought with each other, and we figured it was probably because they didn't have a rooster to keep them apart.

@sobe90210 love thy enemy, my dear. My vegan friends were so nice to me that I turned vegetarian because of their influence. Er...then again I already loved animals and just ate meat cause it was cheap and I didn't care....but still I maintain to be friendly and hopefully that will work :D
