That is one of the many traditional dances of the Dagomba tribe in the Northern Region of Ghana. The Lead Drummer summons the Dancer by going to them. The dancer comes out and selects a tune/druming type. The audience comes out to give money to the Dancer by placing the money either on the Forehead or in the hand. This tribe has multiple Dances and drumming that needs cataloging. They have a very rich culture that should be preserved

All monies are meant for the drummers. THis is a tribe that has so much tunes and dances that needs cataloging. They are really rich in culture

they're pressing money to his forehead. if people are enjoying someones drumming or dancing they press money to the person's forehead, and younger drummers collect the money to divy up after it falls off the persons head.

Wonderful vid, as usual. Do you know what the purpose of the touching of the forehead is? It almost looks like the signing a priests do on the parishioners heads.

The touching to the forehead is actually the method by which patrons give money gifts to the professional musicians. it is normally pressed to the forehead of the musician/griot  (or exceptional dancers/entertainers during weddings/funerals/celebrations­) before it is left to fall naturally and is collected by assistants.
