I would have to disagree with some of what the man in the video is talking about. I'm diagnosed with major depression, since I was 13. it wasn't just "feeling sad". It was real depression and was consistent and long term. Of course there are side effects, but those are minimal compared to how the medications have helped me feel better. I'm not being psychiatric oppressed so to speak. For many people including myself these medications do work and are helpful to our lives. Just my view.

I would go further and propose, as Dr. Thomas Szasz originally posited, that psychiatry's mission, as secular society's social engineer, is the altering of the individual so as to alter the social. The latter fits nicely into the collectivist-coercive features of the pseudo-liberal psychiatric enterprise.

There are additional problems, including the fact that these drugs are showing up in the water supply. It has also become more popular to use a cocktail of drugs where they are forming entirely new compounds that they don't even know what they're creating. Actually... they often come out with the drugs before they even come up with the disorder. This is precisely how Anxiety Disorder developed when they discovered a side-effect for Valium that would have a sedating effect. A problem with psychiatry is it can sometimes be used to discredit an individual. It can be used for warfare against some where the masses don't know the truth behind world order, wars & revolutions. It can be used as a tool to basically steal wealth from either child or adult. It can even undermine our own constitution when its an organized element coming from top down, manipulating intel & police. Psychiatry tried to say molested children had multiple personality disorder.

Next I'd like to illustrate that the psychiatry itself is an inaccurate science. I heard a psychiatrist label a child with "Delusions of Grandeur", quote unquote.. 4 suggesting they may want to go to a performing arts school & possibly act or do music. The child did not recollect but had in the first 6 years of life known numerous professional musicians & top Hollywood grossing stars. Had also done a few bit parts, we were talking BIG names in the industry.

Not all med's work well for everybody. Years ago they would just keep raising the dosage. Not everything can be cured with a pill. The medications have improved & often times do help, however the profitablity for pharmacudical companies has over come ethics. Politics play a very big part because Pharmacudical companies fund campaigns. Politicians also chose the Surgeon General and Supreme Court justices if you bring a class suit. So its getting a bit dangerous in a capitalistic society.

I agree and differ with Jim on this one. First of all I would say especially with children we need heed caution. Is the medication beneficial & necessary? See guardian rights can override a minor's right to their own body. Even in a reasoning intelligent 16 year old. For instance Lithium is a simple salt basically yet its very dangerous in that it can cause kidney failure. I heard a personal account of a high school child who had to have dialysis because of kidney failure due to yrs of that med.
