This version should have never made it to the air - it's a slap in the face to Gene Rayburn, Johnny Olson, Brett Somers, Charles Nelson Reilly, Mark Goodson, and the other celebrities who made this show great in the 70's, and a black eye in the legacy of Mark Goodson Productions! Judy Tenuta is annoying as hell, and I feel sorry for Vicki Lawrence having to put up with this crap!
matchgame is suppose to have 6 celebrity contestants ans there is only 5... But I reinerate what a lot have ppl have said... the original in the 70s was a hell of a lot better
This version of "Match Game" was just AWFUL!!! Five celebrities instead of six, & adult sex-laden questions!!! No wonder it aired @ 2 a.m. in some markets! It aired on KGMB 9 @ 11 am in syndication (after "The Price is Right") during the 1998-99 TV season. If Fremantle decides not to air another version of "MG", I wouldn't care. "MG '90" was miles better than this heap of dung!
This wasn't the best MG incarnation by any means, but I didn't think it was that bad either, unlike what most long time MG fans would have you believe.Part of the problem with this and other game shows that aired in syndication is that they air in whenever time slot a network affiliate decides to air it.
@TomtheUSATiger Paul Boland was the announcer. He also filled in for Rod Roddy on The Price Is Right for a week in 2002 during Rod's cancer operations.
This was the only version I saw as a kid, and now I hate it! Rod Schaffer was a lot better!

I bet you haven't aged a bit in 13 years. I hope you don't mind me saying I mean no offense whatsoever.

Sorry but I think that the Match Game 90 theme music was a lot more catchy sounding.

Joshua Morrow(aka Nick of "Y&R")... got ir right. Sharon and Phyllis would be so proud of his post-answer pose.
