Why are so many of you guys bashing him...you can tell this man loves his rat. So what if he doesn't have another rat for Micky to be with, he seems perfectly happy to me. and as for his house being dirty. who fucking cares. I didn't see anything Micky could choke on just some towels.
wow he looks almost exactly like my rat Charles. he's 14-15 months old right now, however he's probably the world's dumest rat (its a joke, when we first got him he fell off the cage, after that he jumped head first into my computer, he's not actually stupid)

Finally, a video of a smart Rat....I have watched at least 13 videos titled "Smart Rat", and all the Rat did was eat or stand up which is NOT anything amazing, but this Rat 1) turned when he was called, 2) he came when he was called, 3) he went to his cage to feed when told, I give my hats off dude, GREAT JOB! How old is the Rat?
What a clever boy! But I seriously hope you don't keep him a lot inside that cage. It's WAY too small! And I hope you've got more than one rat, since they need to be AT LEAST two. Not trying to be a smart ass, but so many people have no clue when it comes to rats... Love your boy though :)
@Eirorinon7 Mikey is NEVER locked in his cage. He is as free as the cat. In my case I have one at a time because they would fight. All my rats have been free as the cat.
@SkeksisRule they can be house trained to go in a certain spot, they tend to do this on their own anyway, theyre really clean animals and really do make awesome pets

Male rats don't fight i have 11 in a huge cage they squabble over food sometimes but they don't fight. rats do better with rat company just watch 'Pet rats - why it's important to have two or more' they are also both boys. Please consider getting two rats instead of one.

@jonkpaananen I also had a cage in my room for my rat that was always open. that was the place for his food, water and sometimes sleeping. but he was allowed to use that whole room. I miss having rats. when I had my last rat I suddenly was allergic to them! now I have a sweat cat who always wants to steal the cheese off my bread. lol
I think this guy is a great rat owner! as long as the rat gets to spend lots of time outside the cage, which he obviously does, the fact the cage is small is not a problem unless he was in there all the time. theres also toys and stuff you can see next to the cage, and the rat is obviously cared for.
