@airsoftmaster39 Well, they're two programs with entirely different focuses and only a few overlaps. I think FXHome is much more useful to me than Sony Vegas because it provides the special effects, Sony Vegas just provides somewhere for me to put those clips and add audio and text. Sony Vegas is good, but other free programs can replace it such as iMovie or Windows Movie Maker, while you're not going to find a free program to replace FXHome.

I bought it last year, its not the full $500 professional version, it Vegas Movie Studio 9 Platinum Pro Pack, and I think it cost about $100.

I use a Sony Digital Handycam model DCR-TRV240, but its getting pretty old, so I'm thinking of upgrading to a Canon FS22 pretty soon.

I add them all in vegas. FXHome doesn't work with audio, so I usually keep a copy of the audio that goes with the video and reattach it in vegas, and then add any more sound effects I need.

Well, I use sony vegas, but all you need to do is render the video from vision lab into a compatible format (avi, mov) and then import it into movie maker.
