Well I'm Canadian, and our system is garbage. Besides the fact it costs my province of 13 million people over 35 BILLION a year, many people are sent across the boarder in order to have life-saving surgery that can't be performed in Ontario in time. Yeah, neither system is great. But I assure you that our system isn't loved.
FYI, 95% of Canadians, in 2009 polls, said they wouldn't change their system. Of course, there are things that need to be changed, but nothing that can't be fixed.
Also, people don't go to the states for life saving surgeries. They go to the States for procedures that cannot be done in Canada. Just like American children that receive care at the hospital for sick children in Toronto. It's called medical tourism.

In his defense, he wasn't serious. Though I don't like him much, this wasn't a real freak out. It was one of those purposeful exaggerated, "I have to act like a psycho" to get through to you kind of rants. Have you ever seen someone say, I'm so done with this I could scream... then they do and then laugh about it... it was one of those things. If you listen carefully... but it's funny none the less.

It's amazing how we are the only developed country in the world where people cannot get/afford healthcare as well get declined healthcare due to a pre-existing condition.

Well I'm Canadian, and our system is garbage. Besides the fact it costs my province of 13 million people over 35 BILLION a year, many people are sent across the boarder in order to have life-saving surgery that can't be performed in Ontario in time. Yeah, neither system is great. But I assure you that our system isn't loved.

FYI, 95% of Canadians, in 2009 polls, said they wouldn't change their system. Of course, there are things that need to be changed, but nothing that can't be fixed.
Also, people don't go to the states for life saving surgeries. They go to the States for procedures that cannot be done in Canada. Just like American children that receive care at the hospital for sick children in Toronto. It's called medical tourism.
