Thatcher made a big mistake by allowing these hunger strikers to die. This greatly improved the recruitment and funding for the PIRA.

It is amazing that we are still making the same mistakes in Iraq and Afghanistan unless our government wants to make Islamic fundamentalists the new enemy. For an aggresive country like the UK we need enemies to justify the military spending. It is time people woke up and realised what the governments true agenda really is.
