I have to say, it's going to make games like street fighter better. Also fable III and assassins creed III will be awesome on this system, but as for racing and shooting games... I don't think there is a solid replacement for a trigger you can use with your body, and I'm sure the steering would be fucked up to handle. At least it'll be better than the iPad.
I agree with you, As far as Milo, thats just as simple as SmarterChild from AIM, its just a chatterbox, nothing too innovative. As far as games, the problem is there is gonna be lag with Natal, no doubt, its in all the demos, videos, ads. So this type of thing wont be good for shooting games, or sensitive games. As far as PS3, I think there gonna stick with their controller, its all about accuracy, which I think is important. Plus they already have the Eye, which is almost the same as Natal.
It might be an epic fail or it might be really awesome. I think we will have to wait and see what happens because we are so unaware if Project Natal really works or sounds as good as it does. You made some very good points about it. Lets just see what happens in November when it launches.I just wanted to share my opinion of what this will do to revoulotionize or just another peice of junk to throw in the trash.
Dont forget the part, that u wont need to hold invisible gun. In one of the trailers that guy used his skateboard. And it said, that u can use ur own equipment. Maybe like you get ur weapons skin on there, but use like one preset of it's specifics.
I dont think natal is gonna be anything special. Other than the way it works, its no different than the eye toy. Everything that has been SHOWN from natal...has been don by the eye toy. Not sayin Natal cant take this motiona control concept further, but the stuff that they have been demo'ing for it has already been done by the eye toy. Some cases in which the eye toy's application was better in my opinion.

Imagine you and maybe 3 of your buddies being rendered in full 3D as a soldier in MW. While still using the controller to aim, move from place to place, shoot, jump and lob grenades, you will also have the ability to literally point out tactical positions, as well as interact with in game characters that aren't player controlled. Like an interrogation scene where you have to ask the right questions and maybe rough him up a little to get the answers you looking for.
Now Natal is more than just a motion censor, its a new way to involve you as a character in your game. It will know who YOU are as an individual. Now think about that for a sec. Take a game like Modern Warfare. I hear people complain about the possibility of trying to hold an invisible gun to the screen and it being stupid which I agree. I don't think that's what in store for the future of the Natal. I see it as more of a individual experience much like Milo.
I think we play games to enter a world that is surreal and intangible. Whether it's about warfare or playing as a superhero, race driver, wizard, and what not, we play it for entertainment. Some people choose to read books or watch TV and movies as well, yet the gaming audience is obsessed with manipulation. We constantly look for more ways to create an immersive feeling in what we chose as entertainment. Movies like Avatar are using 3D effect to create this connection.

Imagine playing, i dunno, Halo, and instead of goin up and down through the menus with the joystick, you can just point and choose with one hand, while still holding the controller with your other. No I don't think it's going to be a rip-off. Just imagine an enhanced wii motion system with better graphics and more games. Imagine less buttons and way more freedom. Also, just remember that since it's an add-on, you can still get in your gamer mood and play games with a controller. Also, think about Microsoft. Just saw your video and it was interesting. While I agree the 12 year old milo is a bit creepy - look at who developed that demo. Lionhead Studios - the same guys that did Fable 2.
I think what it is demonstrating (and doing it well) is the potential use in RPG games, like Fable. The amount of immersion there is incredible.
I for one, hope the product works as they are demonstrating. And isnt another "Nintendo Powerglove". If it works as shown, I will buy one now!

Natal looks cool, and the idea of it sounds epic and very revolutionary. But it will seem strange with the "no controller" thing. I guess sometimes it would be nice to be moving freely, but I bet every gamer likes to have a stright organized set of controlls. Microsoft is changing gaming more than the Wii did, and in another 5 years there will be something better...perhaps home virtual reality consoles. The future of gaming seems to be stuff like this. I personally don't like where it is headed, but get used to it.
I think I mirror lots of your feelings on Natal based on your comments. It would be really interesting to see whether Microsoft can pull this off with the existing Xbox 360 technology. If they can it would rock the world of gaming even more than the Wii did. With that said, while the technology that it requires has been around for a while, most of it on its own (take facial recognition) does not work great so I dont think that by putting it altogether in a matter of years will work.

From what I seen for this xbox 360 project natal...its no differnet than the PS3 eye camera. I'm willing to bet that the PS3 is capable of creating the same video software for the PS3 eye, and make it even better. PS3 is always 2 steps ahead of xbox. And PS3 has already proven to be more reliable than xbox 360. Hint... 3 ring of death lol

I have to say, it's going to make games like street fighter better. Also fable III and assassins creed III will be awesome on this system, but as for racing and shooting games... I don't think there is a solid replacement for a trigger you can use with your body, and I'm sure the steering would be fucked up to handle. At least it'll be better than the iPad.

I agree with you, As far as Milo, thats just as simple as SmarterChild from AIM, its just a chatterbox, nothing too innovative. As far as games, the problem is there is gonna be lag with Natal, no doubt, its in all the demos, videos, ads. So this type of thing wont be good for shooting games, or sensitive games. As far as PS3, I think there gonna stick with their controller, its all about accuracy, which I think is important. Plus they already have the Eye, which is almost the same as Natal.

It might be an epic fail or it might be really awesome. I think we will have to wait and see what happens because we are so unaware if Project Natal really works or sounds as good as it does. You made some very good points about it. Lets just see what happens in November when it launches.I just wanted to share my opinion of what this will do to revoulotionize or just another peice of junk to throw in the trash.

Dont forget the part, that u wont need to hold invisible gun. In one of the trailers that guy used his skateboard. And it said, that u can use ur own equipment. Maybe like you get ur weapons skin on there, but use like one preset of it's specifics.

I dont think natal is gonna be anything special. Other than the way it works, its no different than the eye toy. Everything that has been SHOWN from natal...has been don by the eye toy. Not sayin Natal cant take this motiona control concept further, but the stuff that they have been demo'ing for it has already been done by the eye toy. Some cases in which the eye toy's application was better in my opinion.

Also Natall completely does a full recgonigition of you and as the years go on it gets further encrypted. ya true i dont agree with the milo thing cause its like havin a imaganary friend but other than that the project natal is a whole new experience for gamers. i mean 1rst person shooter games like mw are weird cause u hold up a invisible gun trying to shoot and it gets confusing. but really for sports games like golf or watching movies are impressive because it can recognize ur voice and follow your command. but they only have prototypes now. i think in 2011 they will make it in stores

Imagine you and maybe 3 of your buddies being rendered in full 3D as a soldier in MW. While still using the controller to aim, move from place to place, shoot, jump and lob grenades, you will also have the ability to literally point out tactical positions, as well as interact with in game characters that aren't player controlled. Like an interrogation scene where you have to ask the right questions and maybe rough him up a little to get the answers you looking for.

Now Natal is more than just a motion censor, its a new way to involve you as a character in your game. It will know who YOU are as an individual. Now think about that for a sec. Take a game like Modern Warfare. I hear people complain about the possibility of trying to hold an invisible gun to the screen and it being stupid which I agree. I don't think that's what in store for the future of the Natal. I see it as more of a individual experience much like Milo.

Some people choose to read books or watch TV and movies as well, yet the gaming audience is obsessed with manipulation. We constantly look for more ways to create an immersive feeling in what we chose as entertainment. Movies like Avatar are using 3D effect to create this connection.

its not just about no-controller needed games, its also a new add-on to controllers themselves. Imagine playing, i dunno, Halo, and instead of goin up and down through the menus with the joystick, you can just point and choose with one hand, while still holding the controller with your other. If you think about it in that perspective, its actually got a HUGE potential. You can result with something the wii can only hope to do

No I don't think it's going to be a rip-off. Just imagine an enhanced wii motion system with better graphics and more games. Imagine less buttons and way more freedom. Also, just remember that since it's an add-on, you can still get in your gamer mood and play games with a controller. Also, think about Microsoft. They're trying to make a system compatible with everyone, which means they will incorporate accents, some slang, slurring of words, etc in order to be compatible with more ppl.

Just saw your video and it was interesting. While I agree the 12 year old milo is a bit creepy - look at who developed that demo. Lionhead Studios - the same guys that did Fable 2.
I think what it is demonstrating (and doing it well) is the potential use in RPG games, like Fable. The amount of immersion there is incredible.
I for one, hope the product works as they are demonstrating. And isnt another "Nintendo Powerglove". If it works as shown, I will buy one now!

Natal looks cool, and the idea of it sounds epic and very revolutionary. But it will seem strange with the "no controller" thing. I guess sometimes it would be nice to be moving freely, but I bet every gamer likes to have a stright organized set of controlls. Anyway, Natal will probly will cool, and be a big hit but the controller idea, will stay ruler of games forever. Good video by the way

Microsoft is changing gaming more than the Wii did, and in another 5 years there will be something better...perhaps home virtual reality consoles. The future of gaming seems to be stuff like this. I personally don't like where it is headed, but get used to it.
I prefer the controller though.

I think I mirror lots of your feelings on Natal based on your comments. It would be really interesting to see whether Microsoft can pull this off with the existing Xbox 360 technology. If they can it would rock the world of gaming even more than the Wii did. With that said, while the technology that it requires has been around for a while, most of it on its own (take facial recognition) does not work great so I dont think that by putting it altogether in a matter of years will work.

From what I seen for this xbox 360 project natal...its no differnet than the PS3 eye camera. I'm willing to bet that the PS3 is capable of creating the same video software for the PS3 eye, and make it even better. PS3 is always 2 steps ahead of xbox.
